The second day after my husband left on a business trip, I suddenly felt dizzy at home and then lost consciousness. 0

When I woke up, I was lying in a hospital bed, and my mother was sitting beside me, looking at me with concern. 0

"Mom, what happened to me?" 0

I tried to sit up but found my body weak and without any strength. 0

"The doctor said you are malnourished and your body is too weak," my mother said softly, her eyes filled with worry. 0

I was full of questions. How could I be malnourished? I had always paid attention to my health. 0

"Mom, what exactly is going on?" I asked anxiously. 0

My mother shook her head. "The doctor didn't say much, just that you need to rest more and not overexert yourself." 0

I was filled with confusion, but my body wouldn't allow me to think too much. 0

After staying in the hospital for two days, I returned home. My husband still hadn't come back, so my mother decided to move in with me. 0

The next morning, while I was still asleep, the doorbell suddenly rang. My mother went to answer it. 0

"Hello, ma'am, I'm looking for Mr. Shen," a woman's voice sounded polite. 0

My mother thought it was a colleague of my husband’s and invited her in. 0

But the woman's next words froze my mother's smile. 0

"Ma'am, are you Mr. Shen's mother? You look so young!" 0

"I am his mother-in-law," my mother replied with a hint of pride in her voice. 0

But the woman's expression suddenly changed. "Oh, so you are the mother of that woman!" she said with a hint of mockery in her tone. 0

My mother didn't expect the woman to change her demeanor so quickly and stood there in shock. 0

"I'll tell you this: Shen Xu is now with me, and you'd better have your daughter divorce him quickly. Otherwise, I won't let you off easily!" the woman said fiercely. 0

When Mother heard this, her face turned pale, and her body swayed before she fainted. The woman saw this and let out a cold laugh before turning to leave. 0

At the hospital, Father comforted me, saying, "Child, this is not your fault." I looked at Mother lying on the hospital bed, filled with guilt. If it weren't for taking care of me, she wouldn't have ended up like this. 0

My husband rushed to the hospital after getting off the plane and held me tightly. "Don't worry, Mom will be fine," he said. I leaned against him, but my heart felt like a mix of emotions. 0

After Mother woke up, she couldn't speak due to the stroke and could only make muffled sounds. Father and I took turns caring for her while my husband remained busy with work. 0

When the doctor announced that Mother could be discharged, Father suggested taking her back to our hometown to relax. After seeing them off at the airport, I returned home to that empty house and resumed my life as a housewife. 0

Six months later, it was my birthday. It should have been a warm day; my husband got off work early and prepared a candlelit dinner for me himself. I sat at the dining table but felt an inexplicable unease. 0

The phone rang, breaking the brief silence. It was Father calling, and I could hear Mother's anxious and muffled voice on the other end: "Child... Shen... affair... home..." My heart tightened; although Mother's words were unclear, I understood. 0

After hanging up, I looked up at my husband, whose eyes were filled with confusion. "What's wrong? You don't look well," he said with concern in his voice. I stared at him coldly, anger burning inside me. "Do you know why Mom had a stroke?" He paused for a moment before asking, "Why?" 0

My voice was almost a roar. 0
"The woman outside has found her way home! My mom ran into her and got so angry that she had a stroke!" 0
My husband's face instantly turned pale. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he said nothing. 0
