There were indeed people outside, and it was Shen Zizhao. She actually brought the old emperor, my father, to catch me in a secret meeting.

I was so angry that my vision turned dark. "Li Jue, stop!"

"You’re talking nonsense!" Shen Zizhao's voice was sharp. "Shen Taifu was just drunk and taken to the side room; how could he appear here!" I was taken aback; hadn't Li Jue been here all along? She couldn't possibly be...
I looked up at Li Jue, who merely smiled at me. Sure enough, Shen Huaimo stepped forward and yanked me off the bed. "Shen Zishu, how dare you—"
"Stop!" Li Jue strolled out slowly, glanced at Shen Huaimo, then turned to the old emperor. "Your Majesty, the person who was with me just now is my wife."
I looked at Li Jue in surprise, but the old emperor burst into laughter. "So it was a misunderstanding. You all may leave; I am a bit tired."
"Father!" Shen Zizhao persisted. "Even if they weren't having an affair, my sister should still be punished. How dare she do such a thing at your banquet—it's simply..."
"Enough!" The old emperor glanced at her impatiently. "You will be confined for three months; step back."
Is that it? I looked at the old emperor in confusion; was he being a bit too lenient with Li Jue? But Li Jue did not answer my question; instead, he asked me, "Are you satisfied?"
I blushed and pushed him away, signaling him to leave quickly. But Li Jue grabbed my hand and leaned closer to my ear. "Xiaoxiao, are you male or female?"
I was taken aback. Is this person out of their mind? Asking such questions in the middle of the night? I replied with a forced smile, "I am a fairy, without gender, and can fulfill all your desires." After saying that, I turned over and fell into a deep sleep, leaving Li Jue alone in the night, tangled in his thoughts for a long while.
