When Jiang Yuan received Wang Li's call, she was preparing for the morning meeting. After finishing the call, she took two days off from work and bought a ticket back to New Forest. Wang Ming happened to be working on a project in the laboratory at the University of Science and Technology. Originally planning to stay in Yuncheng, he decided to return as well upon hearing that Jiang Yuan was leaving. 0

Jiang Yuan didn't say much; they bought their tickets and arrived in Yuncheng by eight o'clock in the evening. Grandma Chu was hospitalized, and Jiang Yuan and Wang Li went to visit her. The doctor said that Grandma Chu's mental fluctuations were due to overexertion and that there was nothing serious. 0

Jiang Yuan felt relieved after hearing the doctor's words. Grandma Chu lay in bed, looking at Jiang Yuan with red-rimmed eyes: "Beibei, you’re back..." Jiang Yuan nodded and held her hand: "Grandma, I’m back. How are you feeling?" Grandma Chu shook her head: "I’m fine, just a bit tired. A good sleep will do me good." 0

Jiang Yuan looked at her, feeling a pang in her heart. Wang Li stood by, watching them with reddened eyes as well. Taking a deep breath, she spoke up: "Beibei, could you ask Yunhui to come back for a visit?" 0

Jiang Yuan turned to look at her: "Why?" Wang Li sighed: "You know your uncle and Yunhui have been at odds; I want them to reconcile." 0

Hearing this, Jiang Yuan felt uncomfortable. She looked at Wang Li and replied flatly: "Why should I help them reconcile?" Wang Li paused: "After all, we are all family." 0

Jiang Yuan laughed: "When they kicked me out back then, did they think of us as family?" Wang Li's expression changed slightly: "Beibei, don’t say that; actually..." 0

Jiang Yuan was too lazy to listen to her nonsense and interrupted directly: "I’m leaving now." With that, she turned and walked away. 0

Wang Li watched her leave, her face looking extremely grim. Jiang Yuan stepped out of the hospital and looked up at the sky. The night sky was as dark as ink, dotted with countless stars. 0

She remembered her childhood, when Grandma Chu often held her while watching the stars. She recalled Grandma Chu saying that everyone turns into a star after they die, hanging in the sky to watch over their loved ones. Jiang Yuan looked at the sky, her eyes burning with emotion. She believed that one day, she would find her own star. 0

When Jiang Yuan, Wang Ming, and Wang Li returned to New Forest Town, it was already past nine in the evening. As night fell, the town was shrouded in darkness, with only the streetlights casting a dim yellow glow. Chu Hong sat at the door and quickly got up to greet them when he saw them return. "You’re back," he said with a smile. 0

Jiang Yuan ignored him and walked straight inside. Wang Ming and Wang Li greeted him before following her in. Chu Hong watched their retreating figures, his expression darkening. He turned and walked into the house, heading to the bedroom. 0

Grandma Chu was already asleep. He approached her and gently shook her awake. "Mom, wake up." 0

Grandma Chu opened her eyes groggily. "What’s wrong?" 0

"Call Yunhui back and let her stay at the villa for a few days," Chu Hong said. 0

Upon hearing this, Grandma Chu shook her head. "I won’t call." 0

Chu Hong's expression changed slightly. "Are you going to call or not?" 0

Grandma Chu continued to shake her head. "I won’t." 0

Chu Hong became angry. "Are you going to call or not?" 0

Grandma Chu looked at him without saying a word. 0

Frustrated, Chu Hong raised his hand as if to hit her. 0

Jiang Yuan had just put down her luggage and was heading to the kitchen to cook when she heard the commotion and rushed out. Seeing Chu Hong raise his hand, her expression changed, and she ran over to push him away. "What are you doing?" 0

Chu Hong stumbled slightly from the push but steadied himself and glared at her angrily. "What business is it of yours?" 0

Jiang Yuan looked at him coldly. "Of course it's my business; she is your mother! How can you hit her?" 0

"She is my mom, I can hit her however I want, and you have no say in it!" Chu Hong said, raising his hand again. 0

Jiang Yuan looked at his palm and without thinking, grabbed the spatula next to her and slammed it down on his hand. 0

With a loud "smack," the spatula struck, leaving Chu Hong's hand red and stinging. 0

He cried out in pain, clutching his hand and glaring at Jiang Yuan. "You little bitch, how dare you hit me?!" 0

Jiang Yuan coldly stared back at him. "If you dare to hit Grandma again, I'll hit you!" 0

"You little bitch, I won't let you off!" Chu Hong said, raising his hand to strike her. 0

Jiang Yuan didn't back down; she lifted her chin and looked at him coldly. 0

Chu Hong's hand never came down. 0

Wang Ming grasped his wrist firmly. 0

He looked at Chu Hong with a calm expression. "Uncle, you'd better not make a move." 0

Chu Hong glared at Wang Ming, gritting his teeth. "Let go of me!" 0

Wang Ming didn't release him, looking straight at him. "You need to promise not to hit anyone first." 0

Chu Hong glared back. "Who do you think you are to interfere in my business?" 0

Wang Ming still held on tightly. "I am Jiang Yuan's boyfriend; her matters are my matters." 0

Upon hearing this, Chu Hong scoffed. "Boyfriend? You're just the man she seduced, right?" 0

Wang Ming's gaze turned icy. "Please show some respect." 0

Chu Hong laughed derisively. "Respect? She doesn't deserve that word!" 0

Wang Ming narrowed his eyes and applied a bit more pressure. 0

Chu Hong's face turned pale from the pain. "Let go!" 0

Wang Ming didn't loosen his grip. "Apologize." 0

Chu Hong sneered. "Apologize for what?" 0

"Apologize to Jiang Yuan," Wang Ming stated. 0

Hearing this, Chu Hong scoffed again. "Apologize to her? Does she even deserve it?" 0

Wang Ming narrowed his eyes further. "If you don't apologize, don't expect me to let go." 0

Chu Hong glared at him as if he wanted to devour him whole. 0

Wang Ming stood unafraid, maintaining eye contact. 0

The atmosphere was tense and charged. 0

At that moment, a voice suddenly came from the doorway: "What are you doing?" 0

Everyone turned to look. 0

Feng Hongyang stood at the entrance, looking at them with a slight frown on his forehead. 0

Zhao Can stood beside Feng Hongyang, staring wide-eyed at the scene before him. Just a moment ago, she had seen Jiang Yuan and Wang Ming return from outside, so she had followed them. She never expected to witness such a scene. 0

Jiang Yuan was taken aback upon seeing Feng Hongyang. How did he end up here? 0

Chu Hong's expression changed upon seeing Feng Hongyang, and he quickly ran over, saying, "Mr. Feng, what brings you here?" 0

Feng Hongyang looked at him, his brow slightly furrowed. "What are you doing?" 0

Chu Hong paused for a moment and quickly explained, "Mr. Feng, please don't misunderstand. I was just teaching this unfilial girl a lesson." 0

"Unfilial girl?" Feng Hongyang frowned. 0

Chu Hong pointed at Jiang Yuan and said, "It's this wretch; she actually dared to hit me!" 0

Feng Hongyang's gaze shifted to Jiang Yuan, his eyes flickering slightly. 0

Jiang Yuan met his gaze calmly. 0

Feng Hongyang looked at her, his thin lips pressed together. He then turned to Chu Hong and asked, "What did you just say?" 0

Chu Hong was taken aback and replied, "I said she hit me." 0

Feng Hongyang narrowed his eyes. "Say it again." 0

Chu Hong swallowed hard. "Mr. Feng, please don't misunderstand. I was just teaching this unfilial girl a lesson." 0

Feng Hongyang looked at him with a cold gaze. "Who are you calling an unfilial girl?" 0

Chu Hong felt a chill run down his spine under Feng Hongyang's stare and stammered, "I... I..." 0

Feng Hongyang continued to look at him coldly and said, "Apologize to her." 0
