"Yes, these palace maids are all selected to enter the palace, but the emperor cannot meet each one of them. So some palace maids grow old without ever having seen the emperor." 0
"What do they do then?" 0
"Some are assigned to various royal residences, some are allowed to marry and leave, while others remain in the palace for their entire lives until they die." 0
As I listened to my father's story, I imagined the loneliness and helplessness of the palace maids, as if I could feel everything they experienced in the palace. 0
"Xiao Yi, you must remember that everyone has moments of loneliness, but as long as you face it bravely, you will surely find your own happiness." 0
I remembered my father's words and also kept in mind that lonely palace maid. 0

After hearing my father's story, my heart was filled with sympathy for that palace maid. 0
"Dad, I want to help her." 0
"Oh? How do you plan to help her?" My father looked at me curiously. 0
"I want to take her out of the palace so she can see the outside world." 0
"But she cannot leave the palace freely," my father shook his head. 0
"Then I will become a brave knight, breaking through all obstacles to take her out." 0
I was filled with a strong desire to do something for this palace maid. 0
I walked through the bustling crowd, passed by the lively market, and through an alley until a door appeared before me; looking back, the scene behind had transformed into an ancient appearance; 0
I gazed at the door in front of me, my heart filled with excitement and nervousness. 0
I knew my dream was about to come true. 0
I bravely approached the palace gate and requested to see that palace maid. 0
The guard at the gate looked at me coldly: "Who are you to dare request an audience with a palace maid?" 0

I stared at him fearlessly and said, "I am a knight, and I want to help that maid find happiness." 0
The guard at the gate laughed mockingly at me, saying, "You? What makes you think she would go with you?" 0
I replied firmly, "What I have is courage, determination, and my sympathy and understanding for her." 0
The guards were taken aback; perhaps they had never seen someone as bold as me. 0
They brought me to the palace gate and let me enter on my own. 0
I walked through the heavy palace doors and finally arrived at the inner court. 0
I found the maid sitting alone by the window, gazing at the distant sky. 0
I expressed my intentions to her, and she looked at me in surprise, a glimmer of hope shining in her eyes. 0
She said, "Thank you, young knight. I am willing to go with you." 0
I took her out of the palace gates and into the outside world. 0
Everything outside was so new and so free. 0
She saw the vast grasslands, walked along winding mountain paths, and crossed rushing rivers. 0
She marveled at the beautiful scenery, bent over laughing at interesting things she encountered, 0
and even laughed until tears streamed down her face at my clumsy jokes. 0
Her face showed gratitude and joy as she said to me, "Thank you, young knight, for showing me the beauty of life." 0
Looking at her smile filled me with immense satisfaction. 0
I thought: perhaps this is the happiness I could find for her. 0
This happiness is not gold or silver, nor luxurious clothing or food; it is freedom and friendship. 0
I believe this is true happiness. 0
Through my imagination and brave actions, I made the maid feel freedom and joy. 0
I realized that true happiness is not gold or silver, nor luxurious clothing or food; it is freedom and friendship. 0
My father watched me lost in thought and smiled as he asked, "Xiao Yi, do you really think that maid will be happy?" 0

"I think she will," I nodded firmly. 0
"What if all the palace maids leave? Will they be happy too?" 0
"This..." I was taken aback. 0
I had only thought of that one maid, forgetting that there were so many maids in the entire palace, each one of them feeling lonely. 0
"Xiao Yi, you must remember, you can help one person, but you cannot help everyone. 0
Only when people awaken themselves can they change their own fate." 0
I nodded thoughtfully. 0
