Chen Feng's words echoed in her mind.
She certainly knew that there was a seductive element to Chen Feng's words, but deep down, she also understood that Chen Feng had the ability to elevate her career to new heights. On the other hand, she couldn't let go of her feelings for Lin Xiang and her obsession with the "Sky Garden."
Chen Feng seemed to sense her hesitation and continued, "Su Wan, what Lin Xiang cannot give you, I can. Being with him will only bury your talent."
Su Wan struggled internally. She didn't want to betray Lin Xiang, nor did she want to give up the "Sky Garden," a project she was proud of.
"I need time to think," Su Wan told Chen Feng, but her inner monologue revealed more of her struggle and conflict.
"Lin Xiang, do you know how unfavorable public opinion is for us right now? The previous environmental protest incident hasn't completely died down, and now there's been a design leak. Plus, the design of Future City is similar to ours. The media and the public are doubting our design and capabilities!"
Li Ming's anxious voice echoed in the office.
How could I not know?
Chen Feng's provocation had already put us in a difficult position, and the ensuing pressure from public opinion only made matters worse. At this moment, we couldn't just sit back and do nothing; we had to take action.
"We should hold an exhibition," I said firmly.
"What?"
Li Ming and the other team members looked at me in confusion.
"We need to organize a public exhibition to showcase our design process and innovative concepts. We must use facts to prove our strength and counter those who slander and doubt us."
"We need a beautiful turnaround, and this exhibition is our opportunity."
With the new plan, the entire team's confidence was boosted, and they began to enthusiastically discuss the details of the exhibition. Every aspect, from design to inviting guests, was scrutinized repeatedly.
Time was tight, and everyone started to take action, eager to prove their efforts and contributions to the outside world. Su Wan stared blankly at the empty canvas in the studio.
The ringing of her phone broke her thoughts. It was Chen Feng calling.
"Su Wan, how have you thought about what I mentioned last time?"
Su Wan instinctively frowned, her gaze involuntarily drifting to the window.
"I need more time."
Her tone revealed a sense of helplessness and hesitation.
Chen Feng seemed unfazed, simply responding, "Opportunities wait for no one; I hope you can make a decision soon."
After hanging up, Su Wan felt even more anxious.
I knew that I had been somewhat neglectful of Su Wan lately due to being busy with projects. Feeling uneasy, I decided to leave work early to surprise her.
The door to the studio was ajar, and faint voices could be heard inside. I leaned against the door, trying to catch the conversation.
"Chen Feng... consider..."
These fragmented words stirred an ominous premonition within me. Gathering my courage, I gently knocked on the door.
Su Wan hurriedly ended the call and turned around, her face already wearing a calm expression. However, the panic in her eyes and the unnaturalness of her face did not escape my notice.
"Lin Xiang? Why are you back so early?"
Her tone revealed surprise.
I smiled slightly, trying to keep my voice calm: "I'm not busy today, so I came back early."
"Who were you on the phone with just now?"
I casually asked.
Su Wan's eyes flickered for a moment, then she pretended to be relaxed and replied, "Oh, it was a friend. They wanted to meet up and chat."
A friend?
I secretly scoffed. It must be Chen Feng.
"What's wrong? You've been distracted lately. Are you facing some problems?"
I asked with concern, my gaze fixed on her eyes.
Su Wan looked away, her tone somewhat dismissive: "It's nothing, maybe I just haven't been resting well lately."
I sighed and didn't press further.
But I knew in my heart that Su Wan was definitely hiding something from me.
With the exhibition date for the "Sky Garden" project approaching, our work was becoming increasingly intense.
I was running back and forth between the office and the exhibition site all day, hardly having time to go home.
Yet I still worried about Su Wan; her condition had been deteriorating lately, and I often saw her staring blankly at the canvas.
