That night, when Jiang Xiaoyu came to find me, I was writing lesson plans.
"Are you busy?" he leaned over the edge of the desk, looking at me pitifully.
Jiang Xiaoyu shook his head, "Not busy, what's up?"
He hesitated, "Can you go out with me tonight?"
I was surprised, "Where to?"
"Don't worry about that for now," he said mysteriously, "I'll tell you when the time comes."
I had no choice but to nod, "Alright then."
Jiang Xiaoyu left in high spirits.
I watched his back and shook my head with a smile, continuing to write my lesson plans.
I wrote quickly and finished in less than two hours.
Just as I saved the document, I saw Jiang Xiaoyu waving at me from the other end of the corridor.
I got up and walked over, "Are we leaving now?"
Jiang Xiaoyu nodded, "Yes."
I looked outside at the sky, "Should we let Principal Chen and the others know?"
"I've already told them," Jiang Xiaoyu whispered, "You should change your clothes; we’ll leave right away."
I looked down at my outfit and asked, "Is there something wrong with what I'm wearing?"
Jiang Xiaoyu shook his head. "It's better to wear long sleeves and long pants, preferably black."
Although I didn't quite understand, I nodded. "Okay, give me two minutes."
I returned to my dorm and quickly changed into a black windbreaker and a pair of cargo pants.
When I came downstairs, Jiang Xiaoyu's eyes clearly brightened.
"Let's go," I said as I walked over to him.
Jiang Xiaoyu nodded and naturally took my hand.
His palm was very warm, and I couldn't help but glance at him again.
Jiang Xiaoyu smiled slightly at me and squeezed my hand gently.
His hands were dry yet warm, making me feel cherished.
We exited the school gate and walked down the mountain path.
Since it had just rained, the road was a bit slippery. Jiang Xiaoyu held my hand the entire way, afraid that I might fall.
I let him hold my hand without asking questions or saying anything, silently following him.
I trusted him.
No matter where he took me, I was willing to follow him.
After walking for a while, Jiang Xiaoyu suddenly stopped.
He took out a black cloth strip from his pocket and handed it to me.
"What is this?" I asked, puzzled.
"An eye mask," Jiang Xiaoyu said. "Put it on first, and I'll tell you why later."
I took the eye mask and looked at him suspiciously. "You're not going to sell me, are you?"
Jiang Xiaoyu chuckled. "How could I bear to do that?"
He reached out and helped me put on the eye mask. "Alright, just endure it for a moment; we'll be there soon."
Everything went dark in front of me, and I couldn't see anything.
I felt a bit scared and instinctively grabbed Jiang Xiaoyu's arm.
Jiang Xiaoyu seemed to notice my tension and reached out to wrap his arm around my shoulders.
"Don't be afraid," he said. "I'm here."
My heart slowly calmed down.
I trusted Jiang Xiaoyu as much as I trusted myself.
I knew that no matter what happened, Jiang Xiaoyu would be by my side, protecting me and caring for me.
I relaxed and leaned against Jiang Xiaoyu's shoulder.
Jiang Xiaoyu supported me as we walked slowly forward.
We walked for about twenty minutes before Jiang Xiaoyu finally stopped.
"We're here," Jiang Xiaoyu said softly. "Now, you can take off the blindfold."
I removed the blindfold and slowly opened my eyes.
In the next moment, I was completely stunned.
What lay before me was a "starry sky" made up of fireflies.
I had never seen so many fireflies, densely packed like countless stars, twinkling in the night sky.
I widened my eyes and was speechless for a long time.
Seeing my shocked expression, Jiang Xiaoyu couldn't help but smile.
"Song Jia," he called me softly.
"Mm?" I turned to look at him.
Jiang Xiaoyu gazed into my eyes and slowly spoke, "Do you know why I brought you here?"
I shook my head.
Jiang Xiaoyu smiled slightly, "Because I want to tell you that I like you."
I was taken aback.
Jiang Xiaoyu continued, "I know this might be too late to say, and maybe my way of saying it is wrong, but I really can't control myself."
"I like you, Song Jia," Jiang Xiaoyu's voice grew softer. "I like you to the point where I can't help myself."
I stared at him in a daze, unable to say a word.
Jiang Xiaoyu took two steps forward, getting closer to me.
He reached out and gently caressed my cheek, softly saying, "Do you know? I dream of being with you."
My heart began to race.
My face flushed red, and for a moment, I didn't know what to say.
Jiang Xiaoyu lowered his head and gently kissed my lips.
I closed my eyes, feeling his kiss.
His lips were soft and warm, with a hint of sweetness.
I couldn't help but extend my tongue, intertwining with his.
We kissed for a long time, only parting reluctantly when we could no longer breathe.
I leaned against Jiang Xiaoyu's embrace, breathing in fresh air, my heart still racing.
Jiang Xiaoyu held me close and whispered, "Song Jia, I'm serious."
I lifted my head to look at him. "I know."
Jiang Xiaoyu bit his lip and asked, "So... do you want to be with me?"
I smiled and replied, "I do."
A glimmer of surprise flashed in Jiang Xiaoyu's eyes. "Really?"
I nodded seriously. "Really."
Jiang Xiaoyu suddenly hugged me tightly.
I reached out and wrapped my arms around his waist, burying my face in his chest.
I could hear Jiang Xiaoyu's heartbeat, fast and strong.
My heart was racing too, pounding so hard it felt like it might burst from my chest.
I knew I had fallen for Jiang Xiaoyu.
Not because he was handsome, nor because he was wealthy.
But simply because he was Jiang Xiaoyu.
