"We should go too; if we delay, the good things might be taken by others," Manli said excitedly, glancing at a few people before flying towards the spatial gate.
"Let's go!" The remaining four, including Ren Pingsheng, moved quickly to follow. At this moment, many martial artists were still moving slowly.
After passing through the spatial gate, everyone felt the same sensation; it took several breaths of time for them to regain their senses. Then they began to excitedly examine the space they had arrived in.
"This is the Ancient Times ruins; we've made it inside," Manli said, looking around and laughing.
This place resembled an endless continent with no visible end. The group that entered together managed to stay together, while there were a few other martial artists around. However, compared to the numerous martial artists who had entered, they were not even one percent of that number. It seemed that either they had scattered across the continent or had left earlier.
"We should hurry; this should be the edge of the continent. Although we don't know where treasures are located, heading towards the center of the continent is definitely the right choice." He said this while looking at the surrounding martial artists and then focused on Ren Pingsheng and his three companions, his meaning clear.
"Alright, let's set off!" Li Feng was the first to express agreement. In this unfamiliar space, it was certainly safer to act together. Only after understanding the situation here could they consider moving alone.
Ren Pingsheng and his three companions had no objections either. The five of them chose a direction without waiting for other martial artists and headed towards the vast expanse of land ahead. Some other martial artists who had come to their senses followed behind them. They also didn't know what to do, but following Ren Pingsheng might yield some benefits.
The continent appeared to have mountains and rivers, seemingly not much different from the outside world. However, in the far distance, there was a towering mountain that pierced the clouds. They could only vaguely see its outline, and many people were heading towards that high mountain, believing it to be the center of the continent.
"Damn it! We've been walking for so long and haven't seen anything—not even a single spirit herb. Is this really the Ancient Times ruins?" One martial artist complained; his name was Zhao Hu, and he was brothers with another martial artist named Zhao Long. They were among the original five.
Now their group had grown to ten people as several other martial artists had joined them along the way. They had walked for quite a while but had not made any gains. What they saw were merely ordinary plants and trees of no value.
"Since so many people say this is the Ancient Times ruins space, it shouldn't be wrong!" Li Feng said uncertainly as he looked at Manli beside him. They had always followed Manli's lead since he confidently claimed this was a ruins space where they would find great rewards.
"Don't worry; this should indeed be a ruins space; there's no mistake about it. The lack of rewards now is simply because we haven't reached the true ruins space yet; this is just the outermost area. There won't be any danger or rewards here," Manli said dismissively as if he understood their thoughts.
"When will we reach the true ruins space?" Zhao Hu seemed a bit anxious and continued to ask.
"Soon! Do you see that mountain range in the distance? Once we get past that, we'll enter the true ruins space where there will be plenty of rewards—though there will also be some dangers," he said while pointing at a mountain range blocking their path with a smile.
That mountain range stretched long across their view, at least beyond what they could see. It truly seemed like a dividing line separating them from the real ruins space.
"It's strange; how do you know all this? You seem very familiar with everything here," one of the newly joined martial artists asked suspiciously.
"Hmph, this is because I have entered a ruin before, and the situation was similar to what we have now, so I naturally know. If you believe me, follow along; if not, feel free to leave," Manli said, seemingly a bit impatient, and after that, he fell silent.
Seeing that he had said this much, the others also stopped speaking. They would find out the truth once they crossed the distant mountain range. At this moment, they did not dare to offend Manli too much; if what he said turned out to be true, it would be bad if their relationship soured.
Ren Pingsheng remained silent, walking at the back. He occasionally glanced at Manli in front of him, pondering whether his words were true or false. He had never entered a ruin space himself, so he did not know if these Ancient Times ruins were all similar.
However, regardless of whether it was true or not, he felt that Manli seemed to have some ulterior motive. He had already grown wary of him; no one knew what dangers lay within the ruin space, so it was always better to be cautious.
After half an hour of traveling, the ten of them finally reached the mountain range. Now they stood at the highest point of the mountain, looking at the vast land in the distance that seemed endless and the faint outline of distant high mountains.
"Alright, once we cross this last stretch, we will enter the true ruin space. You will soon know whether what I said is true or false. Just don't let excitement cloud your judgment and lose your life," Manli glanced at the others and said lightly before taking a step forward and flying over to the other side of the mountain.
"The true ruin space? I wonder where the dangers here come from," Ren Pingsheng murmured as he looked at the towering mountains around him. Then he shook his head and followed suit.
Whether it was just an illusion or not, after coming down from the mountain range, he felt that the spiritual energy in the air had become vibrant and began to surge into their bodies uncontrollably.
"Ah, this is... so many spiritual herbs." Just a few minutes after descending from the mountain, they found themselves in a small valley. One warrior caught sight of a small valley and immediately exclaimed.
The others quickly turned their gaze in that direction and saw that it was a small valley filled with various spiritual herbs. There were even some rare treasures they recognized as useful to them. Instantly, they became excited and rushed over.
"Wait! There's danger over there!" Manli suddenly shouted loudly, trying to make them stop. Unfortunately, seeing so many rare spiritual herbs, they were too excited to listen and rushed forward with their cultivation levels.
"Haha, danger? Where's the danger? You just don't want us to get those herbs," four warriors who rushed over glanced around and saw nothing amiss. They laughed dismissively and eagerly began to pick those rare spiritual herbs.
"Foolish ones! This is the Ancient Times ruin space; do you really think there would be no danger?" Manli couldn't help but curse loudly as he cautiously stepped back a few paces.
As soon as he finished speaking, a small lake or spring at the back of the valley began to boil. Then a figure shot out in a flash. The others only felt a blur before their eyes; they didn't even see what it was before hearing four piercing screams.
Upon hearing the screams, Ren Pingsheng and the others were shocked. When they turned to look again, those four warriors who had just been so excited were now lifeless corpses. Even more terrifying was that those four corpses were slowly disappearing. Within a few breaths, they vanished without a trace.
If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, they would never have believed that four people could disappear like that. At this moment, they realized that something must have attacked them to cause such an outcome.
"The Black Luo King Snake! Damn it! Wasn't this thing supposed to have gone extinct long ago?" Manli cursed as he recognized the creature that was only as thick as an arm with golden-black patterns intertwined.
"The Black Luo King Snake." Ren Pingsheng narrowed his eyes, fixating on a small golden crown atop the snake's head. He never expected to encounter such a creature.
The Black Luo King Snake is the ancestor of the Black Luo Snake, and legend has it that its venom can kill even the strongest of warriors with just a drop. No wonder those four martial artists ended up like that; they were completely dissolved by the venom! However, the Black Luo King Snake had long been thought extinct, nearly impossible to find in the world. Yet here it was, in this relic space.
But thinking back to this being an Ancient Times relic, the Black Luo King Snake must have been quite common back then. It was only during the Sage Era that they all disappeared, likely vanishing from history alongside the Ancient Times. Since the Black Luo King Snake is here, could there be other extinct beasts as well?
Ren Pingsheng quickly pondered in his mind. He now realized that this Ancient Times relic was likely fraught with danger, especially in this mountainous forested area; who knows what beasts might emerge? As for this Black Luo King Snake, who knows if there are more? If one were to be bitten carelessly, it would surely mean death.
"Let's go, we need to leave here quickly. As long as we exit the territory of the Black Luo King Snake, it shouldn't pursue us," said Manli, recognizing the creature and turning to run without hesitation. The remaining six people moved swiftly as well, darting away into the distance.
At that moment, the Black Luo King Snake merely glanced over, seeming to hesitate for a moment before flicking its crimson tongue and swishing its tail as it returned to the spring it had just emerged from.
The small valley remained as tranquil and peaceful as before, but who could have imagined that terrifying dangers lurked within? Unless one was a royal-level powerhouse, anyone who entered here would likely come in alive but leave without their life.
"Brother Man, there seems to be a Zhu Guo over there; it looks to be at least a thousand years old. Can you check if it's dangerous? If not, let's take it," Li Feng said, looking expectantly at a small fiery red tree in the distance.
Zhu Guo is relatively common outside but usually only a few decades or a hundred years old. For martial artists below the respect level, it's considered a good item. However, it holds little value for them.
Once it exceeds five hundred years, however, it's rare. Not to mention this Zhu Guo being over a thousand years old; for those cultivating in the Fire Realm, obtaining one would be an immense fortune. It could rapidly elevate one's mastery of fire intent and even possibly evolve into fire profundity.
It's similar to the effect of the Concentration Pill that Ren Pingsheng took earlier; while the Concentration Pill condenses profundity, this Zhu Guo condenses Artistic Conception. Of course, if it's a Zhu Guo over ten thousand years old, its effects would be comparable to that of the Concentration Pill and even stronger for those cultivating fire profundity.
