Ripples spread out, entangled with the clouds and mist, neither side yielding. The golden edge and the wind blade competed for brilliance, stirring the ripples and clouds in a tumult. Each collision left cracks in the void; although fleeting, their power was enough to be terrifying.
"Boom..." Ultimately, the two sword techniques, after countless collisions, unleashed boundless power. They exploded, with countless golden edges and wind blades streaking across the sky like meteors. When they hit the ground, they kicked up a cloud of dust, leaving behind a series of terrifying pits.
The surrounding warriors looked on in shock. Such power would be impossible to withstand if it fell upon them; they might not even leave behind bones. And this was merely some of the scattered power; if one were to consider the force at the center of the collision, it would likely be several times more formidable.
Just as they marveled, the void suddenly collapsed dozens of feet due to the shockwave of the explosion, revealing a dark rift in space. It swept through, causing a small hill nearly a hundred feet tall to vanish without a trace, leaving the area flattened.
"What terrifying power! The sword technique is frightening, but that rift in space is even more terrifying," Demon Prince said with some astonishment.
"Indeed, their strength has far surpassed ours. The power of their Artistic Conception fusion has reached perfection. Unfortunately, I have only managed to fuse about thirty percent; the gap is too great," Tianfeng said enviously yet admiringly. The power of a perfected Artistic Conception meant that their fusion of two types of Artistic Conception had likely reached at least fifty percent.
The residual waves of the sword technique took a while to dissipate completely. At this moment, the wind was light and the clouds were thin; both stood there with calm expressions, making it impossible to tell who had won or lost.
"When are we leaving?" Xiao Cangjian asked softly.
"Tomorrow. I have been in the Southern Region for quite some time now; it's time to go back," Ren Pingsheng replied in a similarly calm tone.
"Then let's go; I'll host a farewell banquet for you! You all come too!" He stepped forward and glanced back at Demon Prince and the others before leading the way out.
"Alright!" Ren Pingsheng replied while watching his retreating figure and then followed at a leisurely pace.
"Hey hey... Ren Pingsheng, wait for us!" Demon Prince called out loudly and immediately chased after him. After catching up, he curiously asked, "So... who won?"
"Neither of us won!" he replied with a light laugh and said no more, leaving Demon Prince and Tianfeng exchanging glances, unsure of what that meant.
"Fool, if the two of them ended in a tie, then naturally no one won!" The Demon Emperor caught up and said disdainfully before chasing after Ren Pingsheng.
"A tie! I see!" The Demon Prince immediately exclaimed. However, he quickly realized something. "Hey, wait a minute, who was that guy just now? So arrogant! How dare he look down on us!"
"I don't know, but Ren Pingsheng should know him. He seems to be quite a capable fellow," Tianfeng replied after thinking for a moment.
"Let's catch up; I want to see if this guy really has the strength to be so arrogant." The two of them were not slow either, and even though they had fallen behind a bit, it wouldn't take long to catch up.
As soon as the five of them left, chaos erupted outside the Sword Testing Tower, with everyone discussing the recent match. They were speculating about who ultimately won. Some supported Xiao Cangjian, while others backed Ren Pingsheng. There were even some hot-tempered individuals who got into fights over it.
Regardless of who won or lost, news of this match quickly spread. The competition among the younger generation's top talents from the Monsters and the fierce performance of the Wind and Cloud Sword Sect sparked discussions among many talented individuals and martial artists.
Some praised and envied, others were jealous and slanderous, while some looked down on it entirely. There were even those who imitated it and organized their own talent arena competitions. Of course, those events would come later and will not be mentioned further.
The five of them sat across from each other in a pavilion outside Nanzhou City. The stone table was filled with food and drinks, all brought by Xiao Cangjian. Aside from the Demon Emperor being somewhat unfamiliar, they all knew each other to varying degrees; their relationships could be described as both friends and rivals.
"This wine is good, but it still can't compare to your wine, Ren Pingsheng! I didn't expect you to brew wine as well," the Demon Prince said with some surprise. He had just tasted Ren Pingsheng's Drunken Red Dust and couldn't stop praising it. Hearing that it was brewed by him naturally astonished him.
"Hehe, it's not that difficult. If you want it, I'll give you the recipe; you can try brewing it yourself," Ren Pingsheng said with a smile.
"Sure! I actually like this wine; I'll brew some when I get back." He laughed heartily as he took the recipe. "Oh, it actually requires materials from royal-level monsters; looks like you have some luck!"
"I suppose so. This recipe was given to me by a friend many years ago. It's been quite a while since then."
"Ren Pingsheng, why are you in such a hurry to go back? If we're talking about traveling, this Southern Region is so vast; how many places have you actually seen? I know some other talented individuals from different regions who stay here for over ten years without any surprise. Besides, considering the opportunities in the Southern Region, why are you so eager to return?" Tianfeng asked with some confusion.
"To be honest, I'm not here just for sightseeing. My coming to the Southern Region was also due to unforeseen circumstances. I can only consider it half a journey. As for opportunities, I'm not lacking in those. I've already had a good look at the most prosperous Southern State and sparred with talents like you all. So there's really nothing much to linger on."
"Is that so? It's just a pity that with your departure, we have lost a good opponent."
"Yes, we've lost an opponent," Xiao Cangjian said softly as he took a sip of his drink.
"Haha, there are so many geniuses in the Southern Region; losing one person is not a significant loss. Besides, I am not originally from the Southern Region, so it is only right for me to leave," Ren Pingsheng said after glancing at him.
"Indeed, we are both at the sect level now. With our talents and the support of our forces, stepping into the king level should not be too difficult." He set down his cup and looked at the others. "However, although the Southern Region is vast, there are very few who can stand shoulder to shoulder with you and me. So when you break through to the king level, I hope we can meet in the Central Domain."
"The Central Domain? It seems Brother Xiao plans to head to the Central Domain after his breakthrough?"
"That's right. After becoming a king level warrior, I plan to go to the Central Domain. That is truly the holy land for warriors on this continent; it is where we geniuses should venture," Xiao Cangjian said earnestly, his bright eyes filled with anticipation.
"The Central Domain, huh? I've heard that there are countless geniuses there, and monsters abound!" Demon Prince said, smacking his lips, feeling both excited and worried.
"Exactly because there are so many geniuses that it is where we should go. In the Southern Region, our opponents are too few; if we don't venture out and remain confined to one corner, our achievements will surely be limited!" Tianfeng had a very open-minded view on this. For these combative individuals, having more opponents was better.
"He is right; only by facing more geniuses can we progress. Only by encountering stronger individuals can we have goals to chase after. The Central Domain is where you all should go. There are countless opportunities and opponents there. As long as you have the ability, becoming a royal-level powerhouse or even an imperial-level powerhouse is not a problem. Advancing further is also not impossible," Demon Emperor said leisurely while sipping his drink.
"The Central Domain?" Ren Pingsheng murmured to himself after hearing this. Then as if he had made a decision, he looked up with anticipation and said, "If I become a king level warrior, I will definitely take a trip to the Central Domain to meet those so-called genius monsters."
"Haha, that's how it should be! The stronger the opponent, the more excited I become; I have never felt fear," Tianfeng suddenly stood up and laughed heartily.
"With our talents, becoming king level warriors won't take long—twenty or thirty years will be more than enough. Today we make an agreement here: thirty years from now, we'll meet in the Central Domain!" Xiao Cangjian said solemnly.
"Thirty years will be completely sufficient," Demon Prince was the first to respond. Now that they were all at the sect level with talent and support from their forces, becoming king level warriors in thirty years was not difficult.
"I agree as well; thirty years from now, we'll meet in the Central Domain!" Tianfeng wiped away the wine stains from his mouth and slapped the stone table in immediate agreement.
"Thirty years later, huh? Well then, see you at Central Domain. I hope no one is late," Ren Pingsheng said with a smile, raising his wine glass. "Let us drink to this agreement."
"Haha, with such a fun place as Central Domain, I will definitely go. I might even go there early," the Demon Emperor said, standing up and raising his glass with a laugh.
"Alright, then we shall meet at that time!" The five of them raised their glasses, exchanged glances, and then drank it all in one go, solidifying the agreement.
"Haha, Ren Pingsheng, be careful then. Once you become a King-Level Martial Artist, you definitely won't be my match anymore. I'm off!" The Demon Prince tossed aside his glass and vanished in a few flashes, leaving only his words lingering in the air.
"Indeed, we will battle again in thirty years. You two should be cautious; who knows who will win or lose by then," Skywind laughed heartily as he stepped into the air and left.
"We'll see each other then and settle the score!" Xiao Cangjian said softly. Like the Azure Wind between heaven and earth, he drifted away without leaving a trace.
"Ah, I didn't expect it would end up just the two of us," the Demon Emperor said while drinking.
"Yes, I'm leaving tomorrow. Since you're planning to stay in the Southern Region, be careful of Yin Tian's father. He definitely won't let things go easily; it's best for you to leave Southern State. Don't let them discover any traces," Ren Pingsheng said, looking at the distant sky calmly.
"Haha, don't worry! His father is just an Emperor-Level Expert; I know exactly what tricks he has up his sleeve. Although this body belongs to his son, I still have the ability to make them not recognize me," he laughed nonchalantly.
"I almost forgot you were also an Emperor-Level Expert before. Well then, farewell for now; see you in thirty years," Ren Pingsheng shook his head and turned to leave.
"Here, take this Jade Tablet. It contains methods to suppress the Soul Pursuit Blood Seal. As soon as you leave Silvermoon City tomorrow, immediately suppress it; that way they won't be able to pinpoint your location. I suspect there will be King-Level Experts hunting you down, so be careful. But remember, it can only suppress for ten days at a time; don't forget."
