Ningjiang First High School Senior 2 Department
At 12:30, the results of the division between arts and sciences were just announced, and the top of the list was crowded with people.
He Rui was originally close to the list, but the crowded crowd gradually pushed him further away. He wiped the fine sweat from his forehead and felt that the people around him were pushing and shoving him as if he were invisible. Many questions popped into his mind.
Since it's a definite result, what difference does it make whether you look at it early or late? Besides, the official class assignment won't be until a couple of days later, so why is everyone in such a hurry to look at this point?
I'm clearly not just air, I'm a person with a certain volume, so why can't anyone see me?
"Hey, you're blocking the way, move!" A rude male voice interrupted He Rui's thoughts. He was still thinking about which girl was blocking the way when Lin Xu suddenly dragged him into a corner.
"He Rui, what are you daydreaming about? You almost got pushed over by those uncivilized guys!" Lin Xu continued to worry and nag at him. "Next time you come to check the rankings, remember to call me. I really don't trust you at all," Lin Xu concluded angrily.
Lin Xu and He Rui have been in the same class since kindergarten, all the way through high school, and have become very good friends.
"Okay, it's fine. I'll come later to check it myself. Don't you have a part-time job after school anyway?"
"Okay then," the two of them said as they walked back to Class 205. Apart from Lin Xu, no one in the class paid much attention to He Rui's presence. But when there was something to help with, he was the first person they thought of, such as being the fifth person for the relay race at the sports meet or helping with props for the art performance. He never refused, silently completing the tasks he promised to others, even though it didn't earn him their gratitude. He always thought for others, but there were not many people who thought from his perspective. He was what we commonly call a "good old man" or "invisible man." So he envied those who could be the center of attention for others. He often felt pathetic. At an age when others were carefree and dazzling, he felt he couldn't achieve that. The afternoon passed in the blink of an eye, with all the afternoon classes being biased towards science. He Rui was dozing off. The surrounding classmates were still listening attentively. The slanting afternoon sunlight shone on the teacher's smooth, hairless head, and he looked at it dazedly, almost bursting out laughing. The teacher angrily ordered him to leave, and since he couldn't understand anyway, he stood up and went outside. After standing for a while, he realized the teacher couldn't see him outside and started wandering around the campus.
It's spring and summer, and the newly grown tender leaves of the camphor tree tremble with green ripples at the slightest touch of the fingertips. The pure and delicate pink flowers bloom all over the branches of the pear tree. When the breeze blows, the fragrance of spring fills the air.
Leaning against the wooden stake in the small school garden corridor, breathing in sync with the chirping of birds and insects, he fell asleep like that. When he woke up, the math class had already ended. It was the last class of the afternoon, and the voices of classmates nearby could be heard. When the surrounding voices quieted down, he got up and brushed off the dust and petals from his shoulders and buttocks. He walked towards the location of the second-floor departmental list in the teaching building.
As he stood in front of the list, slowly searching for his name and corresponding class, Ningjiang First High School, as an old and prestigious high school in City B, had strong teaching staff and a wide range of students. Since its establishment, it had been expanded three times, with a large campus and numerous students, making him feel dizzy and overwhelmed. When he finally found his name, before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, he was shocked to find that his mother had altered his choice of major! His name was prominently listed as the last student in the science innovation class. He was instantly shocked and angry, and as he turned around, he bumped into someone's arms.
"I'm sorry, I didn't notice you behind me," He Rui apologized in a fluster without looking up.
"It's okay," the person replied calmly, with lowered eyelashes.
The voice seemed to resonate right next to He Rui's ear, so sexy that it made him pause. He felt even more embarrassed and didn't dare to lift his head. He was originally shy and reserved, so he hastily said "excuse me" and left. However, just before leaving the second floor of the teaching building, he couldn't resist turning back out of curiosity. He caught a glimpse of the person's distinct jawline and a slightly humped nose.
When he hurried down to the first floor, he heard several noisy voices, sometimes overlapping and sometimes oddly shouting for Shu Yang to come down. There were hardly any people left in the school, and he guessed it must be the person he accidentally bumped into earlier. His name was Shu Yang, and he kept repeating these two words in his mind, feeling that they sounded pleasant no matter how he pronounced them, whether forward or backward. The chaotic thoughts in his mind made his cheeks flush, and he almost fled the campus to return home.
On the other side, Chen Shuyang casually walked downstairs while responding to his friend's urging. Just now, the person who bumped into him emitted a soft fragrance, a tense and confined fragrance with a tangible presence and a nervous quality. Also, he caught a glimpse of the fleeting, lustful and amorous lips.
Irresistible and makes you want to take a bite.
