Cheng Mosu gracefully stood up, her posture elegant and refined. She smiled lightly, like an orchid, exuding a subtle fragrance. "Uncle Nan, you all continue your conversation; I will head upstairs first." 0

Jiang Yating nodded, watching her walk further away. Nan Wanchao gestured for her to sit down, and only then did Jiang Yating take a seat. Nan Wan observed her; her dark hair was slightly disheveled, falling across her forehead, which contrasted with her fair skin and added a touch of softness. She smiled slowly, not as carefree as before, but with a hint of sadness and confusion in her eyes, which were filled with a faint darkness. 0

Nan Wan sighed and said, "Yating, you are about to become a mother; worrying like this is not good for the child." 0

She came back to her senses, pressed her lips together in a smile, and her hand holding the teacup trembled slightly. "Uncle Nan is right; I don’t want my child to suffer as I have." 0

Nan Wan nodded knowingly, watching her emotions gradually stabilize before saying, "Actually, Yating, you are not your parents' biological child." 0

There was no trace of shock on Jiang Yating's face, as if she had anticipated this all along. Her tone carried a hint of helplessness, and her smile turned bittersweet. "Uncle Nan, I actually knew that. At first, I didn’t understand why my parents treated me this way, using me as a tool in their power struggles. Back then, I thought I was part of the Jiang family and had to do those things for my family. But now that I am pregnant and about to become a mother, all I think about is the safety and happiness of my child." 0

"So you began to doubt whether you are truly your parents' biological child?" 0

"Yes." She nodded affirmatively. Through the slightly open window, she could clearly see rows of Peach Trees; the delicate pink blossoms added a vibrant touch to the tender green leaves. The spring breeze caressed her face as petals danced in the wind toward the blue sky. Regaining her composure, she said firmly, "Uncle Nan, I ask you to tell me what my true origins are." 0

Nan Wan took a sip of black tea without looking at her and spoke in a low, hoarse voice. "It seems you must know the truth eventually. You are actually the daughter of a prince from the previous dynasty; your original name was Aisin Gioro Yating. Later on, Shaohao adopted you and changed your name to Jiang Yating." 0

She was taken aback; she had imagined her origins countless times but never considered that she was of noble descent from the previous dynasty. Her voice trembled involuntarily as she asked, "What about my biological parents? Where are they?" 0

"They have... passed away." Nan Wan paused for a moment before continuing. "Your father is Prince Rui. He was framed by his brother and had no choice but to secretly transfer you to the south shortly after your birth. At that time, although Shaohao had some reputation, he did not hold such power as he does now. By chance, he rescued you from a group of traffickers in the north and later found you again. Unfortunately, by then Prince Rui had already died, so he entrusted Shaohao to take care of you, leading to everything that happened afterward." 0

Jiang Yating forced a bitter smile; her life felt like a strong drink—initially full of emotions and joy but ultimately leaving behind deep resentment and hatred. A tear silently fell from her eye. "Is it because I'm not Mom's biological child that she has always treated me this way?" 0

"That's right, Madam Jiang is very calculating. Since you are not her child, she naturally won't put in the effort to take care of you. She only sees you as a tool for her own use." Nan Wan sighed, "I originally wanted to take you under my wing, but by then you were already five years old and had memories of your own. You refused to leave her no matter what. She used the excuse of 'this is our Jiang Family's business' to make me give up." 0

Those intertwined moments, devoid of a warm family atmosphere, left her heart tightly locked away, impenetrable to anyone. That woman, the one she called mother, had ruined her life like this. 0

She grasped the armrest of the sofa and slowly stood up. Nan Wan quickly signaled to a few young girls to come and support her, but she firmly rejected their help. "It's okay, Uncle Nan, you don't need to worry about me. I will be fine; I just never want to see anyone from the Jiang Family again. You and my father are sworn brothers, yet you are so different from him. He is insidious and petty, while you are generous and righteous. Our paths do not align; I advise you to sever ties with my father as soon as possible." 0

"Yating, your father actually has feelings for you; he just loves your mother too much and listens to her in everything, which leads to..." 0

"Uncle Nan, you don't need to say anymore; I already know. For all these years, I've been kept in the dark. I always wondered why Mom was so lenient with my brother but so strict with me. I thought it was because I was a girl, but I never expected that I wasn't even her biological child!" After saying all this in one breath, she couldn't help but feel exhausted both physically and mentally. Darkness slowly enveloped her vision for a few seconds before she regained her composure. 0

Cheng Mosu sat on the swing in the courtyard, the spring breeze gently tousling her hair and bringing cool flower petals that fell onto her shoulders and hair ends. She lightly lifted the corners of her rose-colored lips; her jade-like white cheeks contrasted beautifully with the pink flowers, making her appear even more elegant and serene. Her water-like eyes shimmered slightly, clearer than autumn waters and more beautiful than streams, gradually illuminating the depths of one's heart with the warmth of sunlight. 0

"Miss, what do you think Jiang Yating and Mr. Nan are talking about? What is her background? It's quite strange; I've been at the Jiang Family for some time now and haven't heard Jiang Shanghao or Madam Jiang mention anything about Jiang Yating. Could it be that Jiang Yating really isn't their biological child?" Before she could finish speaking, Cheng Mosu's indifferent gaze startled her into silence, prompting her to quickly close her mouth. 0

Cheng Mosu slowly rose from the swing and looked at the azure sky before saying, "Let's go back inside." 0

"Miss Cheng, please wait." She turned around slowly and saw Jiang Yating with reddened eyes; those bright eyes sparkled as she paused in her steps and looked at her questioningly. 0

Jiang Yating forced a bitter smile and said, "There are some things I want to discuss with you." 0

Cheng Mosu nodded; her long eyelashes covered her eye sockets, hiding any fluctuations in her emotions. Only a faint voice drifted through the air: "Please go ahead." 0

"What are your plans for the future, Miss Cheng?" Instead of answering directly, she asked first. Cheng Mosu furrowed her brow; though she didn't want to respond, out of politeness she still said, "I should be going abroad." 0

Jiang Yating nodded knowingly and said, "Then I only ask Miss Cheng to do one thing for me." 0

"Hey, haven't you already caused enough trouble for my lady? How can you still ask her to do something?!" Feng Yin questioned angrily. 0

Jiang Yating glanced at her lightly, ignoring her, and continued to Cheng Mosu, "I beg you, go back to Shaoyi's side!" 0

The breeze stirred their skirts as Cheng Mosu stood there tightly, gazing at Jiang Yating. The warmth gradually rose in her Water Eyes, but that calmness remained as unfathomable as a deep pool of water, making it hard to discern her emotions. 0
