"This is the living room, and over there is the Guest Room, while this side is the small bedroom." Xiao Jing led Xia Yixiang around the house. She couldn't understand why the Young Mistress agreed to let Xia Yixiang move in. Although she didn't like Miss Xia, she still had to be polite.
Xia Yixiang smiled and took out a jade necklace from her golden embroidered handbag, handing it to Xiao Jing. "Madam Shen, now that I will be living in the Shangguan Family, I hope you will take care of me."
Xiao Jing remained expressionless, blocking her with a hand and smiling. "Miss Xia, don't worry. I will take care of what needs to be taken care of, but for things that don't require my attention, you'll have to handle them yourself."
"You..." Xia Yixiang's smile froze on her face as she scrutinized Xiao Jing. It seemed she had never encountered someone who couldn't be bought with money. She couldn't help but laugh again. "Madam Shen, I still have some gold and silver jewelry at my place. If you like, you can come to my room and pick something out." She lowered her voice and leaned closer to Xiao Jing's ear. "Don't worry, I won't tell the Madam."
At that moment, Xiao Jing really wanted to roll her eyes at her but held back out of politeness. "Miss Xia, I truly have no use for those things. You should keep them for yourself."
Xia Yixiang's gaze softened, and her lips curled slightly. She felt quite dissatisfied with Xiao Jing but realized they would be living together in the future and couldn't let their relationship become too strained. She could only force a smile and turn away, just in time to meet Cheng Mo Su Che's bright gaze.
"Younger Mistress," Xiao Jing greeted respectfully. Cheng Mo smiled faintly at her and nodded but seemed to ignore Xia Yixiang completely as she walked past her.
Faced with such blatant disregard, how could Xia Yixiang swallow her anger? She felt blood rush to her head and disregarded all etiquette. "Hey, Younger Mistress, at least acknowledge me when you see me instead of pretending not to notice."
Cheng Mo paused for a moment, lowering her gaze. She had actually wanted to say a few words to Xia Yixiang earlier, but the words got stuck in her throat, making it impossible for her to speak. Rather than face an awkward conversation, it was better to act as if she didn't see her at all. Ignoring her completely, she continued on to her own room.
From the window, she could see that most of the phoenix tree leaves had turned yellow. Suddenly moved, she picked up a brush and wrote several lines of elegant small characters on paper; however, the sorrow mixed with melancholy chilled much of her heart. A single tear slid down her cheek into her palm and then onto the still-wet ink brush. The golden phoenix tree leaves turn yellow in autumn; the pearl curtains remain unrolled as frost comes at night.
Her eyes trembled as a long black luxury car drove through the gate. She felt a stir in her heart but then remembered something else; her joy was overshadowed by complex emotions.
Downstairs, there was suddenly commotion; the previous silence came alive again. She pushed open the door and hid half of herself behind a crystal pillar, gazing toward where he was.
Xia Yixiang had already gone up to him. Shangguan Shaoyi seemed to pause for a moment with a hint of confusion on his face as he heard his cold voice echoing in the empty room. "Miss Xia, are you here so early today looking for my sister? She doesn't seem to be home."
"No," Xia Yixiang said with flushed cheeks, fingers gripping the seam of her qipao tightly. "I didn't come looking for Miss Shangguan; I... will be living here from now on."
"Oh?" He didn't pay much attention and was about to head upstairs, but Xia Yixiang hurriedly followed him, her gentle voice tinged with urgency, "Um... Young Marshal... I won't be leaving after I move in."
His steps suddenly halted. He turned around, his sword-like brows furrowed, a chilling aura rising between his handsome features. "What do you mean by that?"
"Well..." She blinked her eyes, her eyelashes trembling violently. "Miss Shangguan told me that you were willing to marry me as a concubine. She asked me to move in first, and then..."
"When did I ever agree to such a thing?" He tried to keep his tone calm, suppressing his anger.
She widened her eyes in disbelief, wondering if this was just Shangguan Yiting's unilateral decision. Before she could react, Shangguan Shaoyi raised his hand and stopped looking at her, as if even a glance would shorten his life. "Miss Xia, that is probably just my sister's one-sided wish; don't take it to heart. Since you're here, let's have lunch together with Mo Su. After the meal, I'll have someone take you home."
"I..." Tears welled up in her eyes. She had been overjoyed upon hearing this news and had come to the Shangguan Family with excitement, but facing such humiliation made her feel incredibly unwilling.
Cheng Mo Su lowered her eyes; she heard every word of their conversation clearly. Although she felt touched by Shaoyi's composure, she raised her watery eyes. This was her decision, and she had to see it through.
Shangguan Shaoyi paused for a moment before smiling. A graceful figure slowly emerged from behind the crystal palace pillars. Her lips curled slightly with unspeakable sadness. He panicked and reached out to embrace her, the coldness in his voice gradually fading away, replaced by visible tenderness. "Mo Su, don't take it to heart; this is all my sister's decision."
"No." Cheng Mo Su pulled away slightly from him and glanced at the tightly pursed lips of Xia Yixiang. "It was my agreement; I think you really need a concubine."
The air became stagnant. His sword-like brows furrowed deeply, and there was barely contained anger in his profound gaze.
"Mo Su, say that again." He deliberately lowered his tone and suppressed his anger while focusing on her. She remained calm and gentle, but there were too many hidden waves beneath that surface.
She turned her eyes elsewhere. "I said it was my agreement; you need a concubine."
Shangguan Shaoyi's palm pressed against his chest where it felt hot and suffocating. Her expression showed no fluctuation; the quietly flowing sadness made him feel pity for her, but her indifferent words and carefully considered resignation filled him with rage. He grasped Cheng Mo Su's delicate wrist and pulled her into his embrace. She did not resist but felt the chill emanating from her body pushing back against his intimacy.
"Xiaojing!" he called out, his voice deep. "You will take Miss Xia back. From now on, without my permission, she is not allowed to step into the Shangguan Family!"
"This..." Xiaojing was stunned. Although she didn't like Xia Yixiang either, the young master's behavior was too disrespectful to Miss Xia.
"Shaoyi!" Cheng Mo Su suddenly raised her voice. Usually gentle, her face flushed with anger. "Shaoyi, let her stay for a moment. I... have something to say to you."
"Go ahead." He did not shy away from Xia Yixiang's presence, his gaze fixed intently on Cheng Mo Su.
Cheng Mo Su gently bit her rose-colored lips and said softly, "I know you care for me and that you are devoted to me. But I can't be so selfish; I can't let you be without someone to carry on after you." She held Shangguan Shaoyi's hand, tracing the lines on it, overlapping her hand with his. "Shaoyi, as long as our hearts are together, what does anything else matter?"
"This is the living room, and over there is the Guest Room; this side is the small bedroom." Xiaojing led Xia Yixiang around the house. She couldn't understand why the Young Mistress agreed to let Xia Yixiang move in. Although she didn't like Miss Xia, she still had to show some courtesy.

Xia Yixiang softened her gaze, pulling at the corners of her lips in dissatisfaction with Xiaojing. However, since they would be living together in the future, she couldn't let their relationship become too strained. She could only force a smile and turn away, just in time to meet Cheng Mo Su's bright eyes.

Shangguan Shaoyi was momentarily stunned, then smiled. A graceful figure slowly emerged from behind the pillars of the Crystal Palace. Her Lip Corners were tinged with an indescribable sadness. He panicked and reached out to embrace her, pulling her into his arms. The coldness in his voice gradually faded, replaced by visible tenderness. "That's not true." Cheng Mo Su pulled back slightly, glancing at the tightly pursed lips of Xia Yixiang. "I agreed; I think you really need a concubine."
The air became still. His sword-like brows furrowed deeply, and anger was palpable in his deep-set eyes.
"Mo Su, say that again." He deliberately lowered his tone and suppressed his anger, fixing his gaze on her. She remained calm and gentle, but there were too many hidden waves beneath the surface.

"Xiao Jing!" he called out, his voice low. "Take Miss Xia back. From now on, she is not allowed to step into the Shangguan Family without my permission!"
"This..." Xiao Jing stood frozen in place. Although she also disliked Xia Yixiang, she felt that Young Master’s actions were too disrespectful to Miss Xia.
