"My sister is just like me, very talkative and a bit noisy. I hope we haven't troubled you too much today," Yeh Zhenzhen said, holding onto Yeh Yujin, feeling a bit embarrassed. 0

Cheng Mo smiled and shook his head, his gaze focused on Yeh Yujin. He softened his voice even more, "Yujin, if you have time, come over to play with us more often. We all really like you." 0

"Mo Su, why do you like kids so much? Why don't you..." Yeh Zhenzhen suddenly realized something and quickly changed her words, looking at the person beside her, Xiao Zuwei. "Brother Zuwei, my sister has been clinging to Mo Su today. You guys haven't really had a good conversation, right? You chat first; I'll take my leave." As soon as she finished speaking, she pulled Yeh Yujin away, not even giving her time to say goodbye before disappearing. 0

Yeh Zhenzhen's unfinished words lingered in Xiao Zuwei's mind. He frowned and cast an inquiring glance at Cheng Mo. Cheng Mo smiled gently at him before lowering his gaze. Xiao Zuwei then looked at Shangguan Shaoyi, who wrapped his arm around Cheng Mo's slender shoulders, his lips unchanged. "Zuwei, let's get together again when we have time." 0

It seemed that these two did not want to say much. Xiao Zuwei sighed and turned to leave. 0

The room that had just been filled with laughter suddenly turned cold, the unmasked chill threatening to engulf her completely. Her fingers wandered along the window sill as her gaze drifted toward the starry sky, where the twinkling stars exerted all their strength to showcase their existence. The white candle on the candelabrum burned through time but remained unrepentant, wanting to leave behind a trace of its presence. And what about her? How could she prove to this world that she had existed deeply and loved him profoundly? 0

"Mo Su, what are you thinking? You've been distracted since earlier," Shangguan Shaoyi said as he embraced her from behind. She felt a pang in her heart and leaned against his shoulder, offering him a faint smile. He sighed and tightened his arm around her; he was smart enough to know what she was thinking but didn't know how to comfort her. 0

After a moment of silence, she spoke first in a soft and gentle voice, "Shaoyi, you really like kids, don't you?" 0

He frowned slightly, his tone flat. "I've said before that I don't like kids; they can be quite troublesome." 0

"But you were really nice to Yujin today and very patient," she said, lowering her gaze as her voice grew softer but resonated in his heart like ripples on water. 0

He sighed helplessly and said, "Mo Su, I just want you to stay by my side; everything else is unimportant." 0

"I know." She forced a smile; her water-colored eyes were filled with deep sadness. "But I can't convince myself to be so selfish. You should become a father, and I believe you would be a great one." 0

"Mo Su, what do you mean?" He frowned deeper; his voice grew colder. The feigned anger crumbled under the glimmer of tears in her eyes. He inhaled the fragrance from her neck and softened his tone. "Mo Su, if you really like kids that much, we can adopt one." 0

Cheng Mo was taken aback. She had also considered the issue of whether to adopt, but the child adopted would have to inherit the Shangguan Family business, and Shangguan Yiting would absolutely not allow this to happen. 0

She gently bit her Rose-Colored Lips, her long and thick Eyelashes concealing the loneliness in her eyes. “Shaoyi... you can marry another woman. As long as you have me in your heart, I will be satisfied.” 0

His pupils suddenly widened, as if she had ripped out his heart. A trace of sternness crossed his sharply defined handsome face. The hands gripping her shoulders continuously relaxed their strength, and his voice seemed to squeeze out from between his teeth. “What did you say!” 0

“I said…” She paused, lacking the courage to repeat it. Her delicate hands covered her tear-streaked face, her body trembling uncontrollably. 0

He fell silent for a moment, the anger in his chest threatening to drown him. He thought she knew that he only had her in his heart, and that it would always be just her. Yet she proposed such a request, leaving him frustrated. 0

Unable to suppress himself, he pressed against her Rose-Colored Lips, reaching out to embrace that soft fragrance. She could not withstand the force with which he wanted to crush her body, gasping for breath, unable to control her chaotic breathing. His kiss traveled down her collarbone, leaving bright red marks on her fair skin. 0

The last remnants of consciousness were slipping away as her half-closed eyes caught sight of the shining medal on his chest. Her voice was enchanting, with loose strands of hair scattered around. 0

Her awareness had already blurred; what other feelings could drift away? 0

The next day, they both woke up close to noon. 0

He looked at the beauty in his arms, his warm palm resting on her slightly cool skin. She suddenly opened her eyes; the dazed look upon waking made him feel an overwhelming affection for her. Her cheeks flushed red as she pushed him away gently. He smiled softly without saying a word, bending down to pick up the clothes scattered on the floor and helping her get dressed. 0

She secretly observed him from behind; his pitch-black eyes were even deeper now, and his clear brows held a hint of laughter. She smiled gently back at him but then remembered something, and her happiness slowly faded away. 0

“Do you still have to go to the command center today?” She lowered her Eyes and asked softly. 0

“Mm.” He replied, picking up the horn comb from the dressing table and gliding it through her flowing hair like a waterfall. 0

She stopped speaking, finished her grooming, and the two had breakfast in their respective rooms. She watched him leave from the window, a heavy stone pressing down on her heart, making it hard for her to breathe. 0

There was a gentle knock at the door, and without turning around, she simply said, "Come in." 0

Shangguan Yiting pushed aside the curtain. Cheng Mo Su stood against the sunlight, her lowered eyelashes concealing her emotions. Shangguan Yiting sighed and walked over to her side, saying, "Today I need to go buy a qipao. Would you like to come with me?" 0

"No need," she replied softly, absentmindedly playing with a light pink peach blossom hairpin. 0

"What's wrong? Did you have a fight with Xiao Lin?" Shangguan Yiting sensed something was off and asked tentatively. 0

She smiled lightly and shook her head. "Shaoyi treats me very well; we wouldn't have any disputes." 0

"Then..." Shangguan Yiting glanced around the dim room, her gaze landing on the messy bed, and couldn't help but smile ambiguously. "Perhaps you're too weak, and he doesn't know how to cherish you." 0

Cheng Mo Su's face flushed red, her delicate features slightly raised. "Sister, what are you talking about?" 0

"Alright, alright, it's not that. Then tell me, what is it really?" 0

A silent sigh passed through her heart; a faint sadness lingered in her white cheeks as she smiled. Her graceful figure exuded elegance. Water-like eyes glimmered with hidden sorrow, and her rose-colored lips trembled slightly before she finally spoke. "Sister, I've thought it over. The Shangguan family must have descendants to inherit it. I..." She bit her lip, cascading black hair covering her small face. "I agree to Shaoyi marrying a concubine." 0
