Shangguan Shaoyi stared at her, her snow-white cheeks tinged with a blush. He sighed, preparing to speak, but she tightly grasped his hand, her rose-colored lips slightly parting. "Shaoyi, stay with me for a while, okay..." His heart tightened; something was off about Mo Su today.
Cheng Mo smiled weakly, unable to steady her breath, her eyes filled with stubbornness. "I'm fine, just a little scared inside."
As she held his hand, he slowly relaxed his grip and quietly sat beside her, pulling her into his embrace. "Alright, I'll stay with you. Don't be afraid."
"Mm." She nodded obediently, her gaze fixed intently on him, the moisture in her eyes growing heavier as if that one look could last an eternity. She told herself to remember him clearly, to carry him into her future life.
Shangguan Shaoyi gently brushed over her delicate lips, his pitch-black eyes filled with tenderness. "Mo Su, don't look at me like that. Your gaze seems to tell me that we may never see each other again."
She hurriedly lowered her eyes, her voice soft. "Who said that?"
He quietly watched her as her face disappeared into the dark strands of hair. After a long while, she finally lifted her head, still wearing that familiar smile. "You know, when I first met you, I thought you were really strange. You came to my house to make a living but acted so proud and aloof. You knew so much that it made me curious about you. I don’t even know when I started to like you; by the time I realized it, I was already unable to extricate myself."
"Mo Su..."
She smiled faintly, her water-colored eyes flowing quietly as her heart raced. "Later I thought about it; we might never be together. Ten years from now or twenty years from now, the person standing by your side might not be me. Every time I think about this, my heart aches terribly."
"Mo Su." He called out in pain. "No matter if it's ten years or twenty years from now, the person standing by my side will only be you."
She smiled weakly; the promise he gave was something she couldn't let him fulfill. She closed her eyes briefly, her delicate hand resting on his larger one as she leaned slightly forward. Her rose-colored lips pressed against his tightly pursed ones. He was taken aback; this was the first time she had actively kissed him. He held her hand and slowly pried open her lips with his tongue, the corners of his lips curling into a smile—he was always the one in control.
The kiss deepened as he ravaged her tongue freely. Her body began to tremble gradually, but he still wouldn't let go; instead, he teased her even more delightfully. She frowned slightly as the air around them was completely stolen away by him, leaving no chance for her to breathe. He applied a bit of pressure and they both slid onto the soft bed. His kisses fell upon her beautiful neck, his breath lingering on every inch of her skin as he struggled with his own willpower before slowly pulling away from her side. He chuckled self-deprecatingly; it was only beside her that his willpower felt so weak.
Her face was flushed, and in her Water-colored Eyes lingered a delicate vulnerability. Her Rose-Colored Lips were luscious and inviting. She gazed at him longingly, her slender fingers slowly caressing his cheek, wishing to prolong this moment in every inch of her memory, engraving it in every detail. She looked up, wrapped her arms around his neck, and with great effort pulled him closer, the distance between them reduced to mere millimeters.
"Mo Su." His voice was slightly hoarse, yet it sounded inexplicably pleasant as he called her name.
"Mm." She replied lazily.
His dark pupils gradually constricted. She smiled, two small dimples appearing at the corners of her lips, her voice soft and soothing.
Uncontrollable feelings slowly surged within them. He held her tightly and pressed his lips against hers. The subtle fragrance from her body slowly filled the air. With a casual motion, he lifted the simple Qipao she wore, letting it fall away. Her long, black hair cascaded over her chest, revealing her fair and soft body. He smiled slightly as he tucked her hair behind her shoulder. Her face was deeply flushed as she nestled closer into his embrace. He gently grasped her long, delicate legs, and she melted into his arms.
Her Water-colored Eyes were filled with a dreamy light; her consciousness began to blur. His kiss glided over her soft lips, trailing down to her graceful neck and landing on her snow-white shoulder. Their bodies burned with heat, and the soft light cast a shimmering glow on her pale skin. His kisses slowly traversed every inch of her skin, every curve.
"Shaoyi..." she murmured softly, her delicate hands climbing onto his broad back. He affectionately tapped the tip of her nose and teased her translucent earlobe. An inexplicable wave swept through her petite body as he leaned close to her ear and whispered gently, "Mo Su, it might hurt a little."
She opened her mouth to speak but was met with a sudden tearing pain that felt like it would rip her apart or meld her into his very being. Her Rose-Colored Lips bit down tightly on his shoulder as she trembled uncontrollably, fine beads of sweat forming on her elegant face. He hurriedly kissed her forehead tenderly to ease her tension and pain. She opened her eyes to see his handsome face so close, and in that moment, she felt no fear.
Just as she began to calm down emotionally, she did not expect his advances to become fierce. She could no longer bear it; both hands clung tightly to his waist as their figures intertwined closely together, becoming one.
The remnants of consciousness slowly faded away; hands clasped together as if praying for happiness.
When she awoke again, the sunlight had begun to filter in softly. She moved slightly and felt a wave of soreness. The person beside her had pitch-black eyes filled with affection, gazing intently at her as if assuring her that everything was real. She smiled faintly and said softly, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
The corners of his Lips slightly curled upward as he gently placed a soft kiss on her forehead, utterly indulgent. "I wanted to see what Mo Su looks like when she's asleep." He paused for a moment before pulling her into his embrace; the bare skin contact made both their hearts flutter. He smiled again and tightly held onto her delicate little hand.
Her face was flushed, and she weakly leaned against him, whispering, "How nice it would be if it could always be this quiet."
"It will always be like this," he said, looking down at her. She didn't respond, closing her eyes and feeling the lingering scent of gunpowder surrounding her. If time could freeze at this moment, she would be immensely satisfied.
Her gaze slowly shifted to the small wardrobe not far away, where there was the train ticket she had asked Shangguan Yiting to buy for her today. Today, she would leave Feng Province and return to Shanghai. She knew all too well what that meant.
She nestled closer into his embrace, and a single tear silently fell from her closed eyes.
