"Lin Xiaoyue, what are you doing?" 0

A familiar voice reached my ears. I turned around to find Zhao Ming. His face was filled with concern. 0

I faced him, warmth flooding my heart. "Zhao Ming, I have something I want to talk to you about." 0

I quickly spoke up, "My shadow, it seems to have a mind of its own." 0

"What did you say?" 0

"I said, my shadow seems to have a mind of its own." 0

Zhao Ming paused for a moment, then burst into laughter. "Lin Xiaoyue, are you too tired? Your mind is all muddled." 0

"I know there have been a lot of issues in our village lately, and you must be under a lot of pressure. But what you're saying doesn't sound like you at all." 0

I hurriedly interrupted him, "Zhao Ming, just believe me this once." 0

"My shadow really..." 0

Before I could finish my sentence, Zhao Ming suddenly fell silent. He was staring intently at my shadow. 0

"Zhao Ming..." 0

"What... what did you just say?" His voice began to tremble. 0

"It... it has... consciousness?" 0

I nodded. 0

Zhao Ming took a deep breath and looked at me with determination in his eyes. "I believe you." 0

"Let's think of a way together." 0

My heart warmed, but I quickly became worried. "Zhao Ming, maybe you shouldn't get involved in this." 0

He chuckled lightly, carefree as he used to be. "Lin Xiaoyue, we've grown up together since we were little. Whenever something happened, I was always there with you." 0

"When we were kids, you were so timid. It was always me pulling you along before you dared to play by the river. Weren't you afraid I would drag you in back then?" 0

I couldn't help but laugh, and the fear in my heart seemed to lessen a bit. 0

"Alright," I said, "but you have to be careful." 0

"Don't worry." 0

We stood side by side in front of the ancient temple, our shadows appearing increasingly wild under the moonlight. They waved their arms, moving more and more vigorously. 0

"We need to find a way to control it," Zhao Ming said seriously. 0

I nodded. Although I felt a bit nervous, there was more determination within me. 0

Together, we stepped into the ancient temple. Just as we were about to push open the heavy door, the shadows suddenly froze. 0

The entire world fell silent in an instant. 0

Zhao Ming and I exchanged glances, understanding each other's thoughts. This was the calm before the storm. 0

Zhao Ming's palms were already soaked with sweat as he tightly grasped my hand. 0

"Lin Xiaoyue, no matter what happens, we'll face it together." 0

Inside the ancient temple was eerie and terrifying, filled with an ancient and heavy atmosphere. The shadows danced joyfully on the walls, their forms growing larger as if they were about to break through the ceiling. The darkness unraveled like a sponge, almost reaching the very top of the room. 0

They changed shapes at will, seeming to mock our helplessness. 0

Zhao Ming and I pressed closely together, ready for whatever confrontation awaited us with the shadows. Suddenly, one of the shadows lunged at us; just as it was about to reach me, Zhao Ming pulled me away forcefully. 0

The shadow missed and began to sway back and forth inside the temple, seemingly contemplating its next attack. 0

"Zhao Ming..." 0

My voice trembled slightly. 0

To be honest, saying that I'm not afraid would definitely be a lie. This shadow is conscious and even possesses a bit of human cleverness. It knows how to make us let our guard down before delivering a fatal blow. 0
