I originally thought that victory was within our grasp, as if we were about to achieve the ultimate triumph in this battle. However, in the next moment, Shadow Weaver suddenly stopped attacking.
In the empty factory, only his voice echoed. "You are really impressive; I must admit."
"But don't forget, this is my territory, and I am an invincible presence."
"Do you think you are fighting against my true form?"
"No, you are mistaken."
"Your battle is merely a part of my plan; what I truly desire is the real power of Shadow Heart."
Shadow Weaver's words struck us like a bolt from the blue, leaving us stunned and filled with shock. The mysterious Shadow Weaver suddenly vanished, and in the dim air, only his last words lingered.
"Hey, guys! This is just a warm-up. If you really want to find me, then first you must solve this puzzle-like maze!"
The three of us stood in that empty space, and the surroundings seemed to have returned to their original state. Aside from the silence, there was no sense of anything else existing. However, Shadow Weaver's final words left us filled with doubt.
"A maze?"
I looked around; there was nothing in sight, yet somehow I felt that some kind of power was quietly brewing.
"Hey, something feels off here," Shadow Girl murmured softly, her head down as she observed her surroundings with a tense and serious expression.
The older hunter nodded slightly. "We need to be careful."
So we took our steps deeper into the abandoned factory. With each step forward, we could feel an indescribable eerie atmosphere. It was too quiet here; so quiet that we could only hear each other's footsteps.
"Where should we go next?"
"Of course, we need to find out Shadow Weaver's true plan," the hunter replied firmly.
Next, we walked into a wall that appeared to be incredibly solid, but in reality, it flowed like water and then became soft before our eyes, forming a door.
Behind the door lay countless paths, resembling a massive maze, guiding us into an unknown world.
Once inside the maze, every step forward could bring various dangers. The buildings within the maze were all made of shadows, and all the walls seemed to be breathing.
Whenever we stepped onto a staircase, a cold wind would blow through. It felt as if these gloomy shadows were telling us, "This is our territory."
"That's right, this is the domain of the Shadow Weaver."
I swallowed hard, and the feeling of unease in my heart intensified.
"The atmosphere here is just bizarre..."
As soon as I finished speaking, a shadow on the wall suddenly leaped out as if it were alive and charged towards us.
I instinctively took a step back while quickly drawing my weapon.
The hunter's reaction was much faster than mine; a flash of silver light cut through the air, and the shadow was instantly split in two, only to quickly reassemble itself.
"This thing is actually alive?"
I exclaimed in surprise.
"Not just alive; it has its own will," the hunter said gravely.
So we began to take action, and the hunter's leadership made our team organized and efficient.
We cautiously advanced along the paths of the maze.
"Everyone stay alert; we can't afford to be careless with every step," the hunter's voice echoed in the maze, reminding us to remain vigilant at all times.
We closely followed him, our initial tension gradually replaced by a firm determination.
