The four of us stood back to back, ready to face the challenge from the guards. 0

"We need to find the way to the center quickly, or we'll all be trapped here," Old Li panted, determination evident in his eyes. 0

Xiao Jie gripped the flashlight tightly, a hint of fear flickering in his gaze. "But how are we supposed to find the way?" 0

I closed my eyes, trying hard to recall the stone tablet mentioned in the diary. "The diary said there was a stone tablet with strange symbols on it; that symbol is the key to reaching the center." 0

We began searching the walls around us for that stone tablet. Suddenly, Old Li shouted, "I found it!" 0

We gathered around Old Li as he held up the stone tablet, which bore a strange symbol identical to the one described in the diary. 0

Old Li took out some tools from his backpack and gently tapped the stone tablet. It slowly sank down, followed by a deep rumbling sound as a hidden door creaked open, revealing a staircase leading downwards. 0

We descended the staircase, and the air grew colder, a mysterious atmosphere enveloping the corridor. 0

When we reached the bottom of the stairs, a vast underground chamber unfolded before us. In the center of the room stood a crystal radiating light, casting a peculiar glow that illuminated the entire space. 0

I murmured softly, "So this is the secret of the building..." 0

"Don't touch that crystal! It's the source of life for this city; if it's damaged, the whole city will be lost!" 0

At that moment, the voices of the guardians echoed again as they emerged from the darkness. Each guardian exuded an overwhelming presence. Unlike those we had encountered before, these newly appeared guardians were clearly much stronger. 0

"We need to unravel this secret so we can find a way to escape this city," I said firmly, looking at the guardians. 0

Old Li, Xiao Jie, and Molly stood beside me, engaged in a fierce battle with the Guardians. The fight was intense, like dancing on the edge of a knife. The power of the crystal swayed in the air, and I could feel it resonating with the heartbeat of the city; each pulse sent a thrill of fear through me. 0

Just when we seemed close to winning, Molly suddenly turned around. She quickly scratched something on a hidden stone tablet and activated the city's defense system. A powerful wave of energy burst forth from the crystal, shooting out in all directions. I gasped in shock. 0

"Molly, what on earth are you doing?" 0

Molly merely smiled coldly. "I'm just accelerating the process. The secrets of this city are far too dangerous for you to uncover so easily." 0

The energy wave knocked Old Li and Xiao Jie back, nearly causing them to fall. I quickly steadied myself, filled with surprise and a sense of betrayal. 0

"Molly, you’ve gone mad! We need to find a way to stop that energy wave, or we'll all die here!" 0

A manic smile spread across Molly's face. "Not at all; you won't die here. You'll witness the destruction of this city firsthand!" 0

With that, Molly vanished into the darkness, leaving the three of us facing the impending collapse of the city. 0

"We need to find a way to stop that energy wave quickly!" Old Li's voice rang clear amidst the overwhelming noise. 0
