"Was the sky completely submerged for hundreds of meters?" Li Rui could only see clearly from the peak; otherwise, he would have been completely submerged like the hundred-meter tall trees. At this moment, aside from his area, everywhere else had turned into a mess. If it weren't for the massive boulders to the south and the abundance of trees, it would have been the same as that place. Li Rui was secretly fortunate that he had chosen the right escape route.
The air began to darken, still cool and damp. The north wind howled, sweeping away dust and sand, creating a chaotic scene that gave an ominous feeling; time and space seemed to sense something.
Not yet! Time was flying by.
Almost there, he had a vague feeling that it was still a while away.
When time froze and space became still, it arrived—it had come.
A torrent of flames blazed! Everything burned red in the dead of night! What kind of beast tribe was this?
"What’s going on?!" Li Rui shouted, surrounded by fierce flames that roared and crackled, occasionally accompanied by cries of distress.
Just moments ago he was shivering from the cold, but now he felt as if he were being roasted. Li Rui couldn't grasp the situation; he felt like food being cooked, steam rising from his entire body. Dudu beside him was panting like a dog from the heat.
At the same time, countless fireballs rained down from above, their scorching heat igniting everything around them. The ground was suddenly ablaze, with several peaks being mercilessly bombarded by falling fireballs, creating a terrifying spectacle of flames.
At that moment, a massive fireball came flying towards Li Rui, rolling continuously and blocking his view with its intense heat and roaring sound.
The ground beneath Li Rui's feet became hot; he jumped up and hurriedly fled. He was right in the hottest spot! As he saw the fireball approaching—first one large one followed by countless others—Li Rui clumsily flew down the mountain and spotted a refuge in the distance—a deep pool!
This place was originally a bottomless mountain crevice, likely caused by an earthquake that created a huge gap between two mountains, extending vertically towards the earth's core. Due to Ice Bear's snow cover and the intense heat from the flames, the snow melted into water. The surroundings sloped towards the crevice, forming an unfathomable deep lake. Li Rui was overjoyed; he certainly didn't want to become a roasted Li Rui and dashed towards it while the fireball followed him closely, clearly aimed at him.
"Ah, it can turn!" Li Rui cried out in fear. What was happening? It was coming straight for me! He thought silently while hoping that the lake would keep him safe.
The scorching earth was filled with billowing smoke; no living creature could be seen anymore. All that could be heard was the sound of flames consuming plants, with some areas turning red due to excessive heat.
Fortunately, Li Rui had left just in time; behind him lay a carpet of red ash while everything around him was shrouded in darkness filled with burnt smells.
With a splash, Li Rui and Dudu jumped into the deep lake. Following them was the fireball; due to its overwhelming power, even the water of the lake ignited. This was something Li Rui witnessed firsthand—fire in water?
Half of the entire lake was ablaze!
An unprecedented phenomenon, water and fire do not mix; even a child knows this. How is it possible now? If water cannot extinguish fire, then what can suppress this raging inferno?
This mind-boggling fire continues to burn in the water. Li Rui and Dudu swam to the deepest part of the lake, where the flames had not yet spread to the bottom, struggling desperately.
When the fierce fire was finally extinguished, in an instant, the descending fireball exploded in the water, creating a spectacle. It seemed that the assault had ended, and in the silence that followed, Li Rui came ashore.
The mist in the lake was thick, and Li Rui struggled to swim back slowly and laboriously.
As Li Rui and Dudu climbed out, they caught sight of a massive creature engulfed in flames, its entire body seemingly made of fire. At that moment, it was walking toward them with its back turned, each step causing ripples across the lake and vibrations in the ground.
Once out of the water, gasping for breath and nearly drowning, Li Rui thought to himself, "That is clearly a Fire Forging Beetle." At that moment, he realized and cursed inwardly.
The Beetle gradually moved away, its enormous form still visible before them, its armored shell clanking as it moved slowly, sparks flying around it.
Li Rui seemed to understand something; this was coming for him—not just this! Ice Bear, Beetle—what else might be lurking behind?
The air grew dimmer as a few fiery clouds drifted by. Li Rui wondered if there would be any further attacks. His anxious heart sensed something: Conspiracy? Disaster? He did not want to face any of that right now.
Exhausted, Li Rui climbed to a Summit to enjoy the sunset. He might imagine what other monsters lay ahead, but he would try his best to remain calm.
The sunset's glow illuminated his face as Li Rui broke into a brilliant smile. Yes, it was over! Finally, he could feel some peace.
"Dudu, how well done were you just now?" Li Rui joked. Although they had just met, their bond had grown strong through shared experiences.
"Chirp, chirp!" Dudu placed her hands on her hips with an angry expression.
The two gazed into the distance where a mysterious light shield appeared, glowing faintly yellow. It was situated in the heart of the mountains—at the center of Fengyun Valley. It seemed to have always existed without anyone noticing because its surrounding area was too vast and its light too dim.
Li Rui and Dudu were stunned and quickly walked toward the center. Could it be some kind of treasure?
As they got closer, Li Rui felt resistance; his steps began to change as he sensed an unfamiliar force pulling him toward the earth's core.
Li Rui walked towards the center of the light source with heavy steps, getting closer and closer, while feeling an increasing resistance!
"Chirp, chirp." Dudu could no longer hold onto Li Rui's shoulder, as if a hurricane had lifted him high into the air, but it wasn't wind; it was a wave of energy, a massive wave of energy.
Seeing this, Li Rui instructed Dudu to stay put and wait in place. He felt that as long as he could move forward, he wouldn't retreat.
His feet slipped on the ground, but Li Rui forced himself to steady his body and continued to move forward.
The harder it was to obtain something, the more Li Rui wanted it. Moreover, he had no idea what it was, which made it even more mysterious in his eyes.
The resistance kept increasing, and Li Rui relied on the resilient roots of the surrounding grass to take each step. A determination burned within him, a belief that he must become stronger. Only by becoming stronger would he not be bullied or neglected by others.
In this world, only the strong can survive forever!
If a person perseveres with their willpower, they will succeed! This is an unchanging truth throughout the ages.
