Recently, Li Rui's worries finally came to fruition.
Eventually, the truth would be revealed, but Li Rui would face it calmly.
With a gentle breeze, Li Rui found himself wanting to see Hui Fen again. For some reason, he felt unable to part from her now. He happily drank a bit more wine since there were no tasks for the day and decided to rest at home.
However, when Li Rui searched for Hui Fen, he could not find her.
This made Li Rui anxious, and his heart felt heavy. He feared something might happen to her as a lone woman. So, he shook his head to clear his thoughts, reminding himself that perhaps Hui Fen was simply out picking flowers. With that thought, he strolled into the garden.
As soon as he entered, a fragrant aroma filled the air, but he found no mood to appreciate it. The ground was covered in fallen petals, yet there was no sign of Hui Fen, which only heightened his anxiety.
He felt like an ant on a hot pan—tormented inside but powerless outside. Li Rui continued searching everywhere, but even when his teammates called him for dinner, he paid them no mind. After searching for a while without success, he reached a conclusion: Hui Fen was missing!
Li Rui immediately returned to discuss this with Zhu Yunzhi, who was drinking at the table when he arrived.
Li Rui approached and frowned as he said directly, "Hui Fen is missing."
Seeing Li Rui so anxious and knowing it wasn't a lie, Zhu Yunzhi quickly stood up and asked, "What? What happened?"
Zhu Yunzhi then took over the conversation.
"I tried to find Hui Fen this morning but couldn't locate her. I kept searching while asking passersby, but they all shook their heads and said she hadn't returned since last night. This made me even more worried. Until now, I still can't figure out where Hui Fen has gone."
Li Rui was in a state of panic as he spoke, stamping his feet and slapping the table in frustration.
However, it was already getting late; there was no opportunity left to search again.
"Don't worry just yet," Zhu Yunzhi comforted, then poured a cup of tea for Li Rui. However, at that moment, Li Rui was too preoccupied to care about anything else; he had no mood to drink.
Although his feelings for Hui Fen were brief, Li Rui deeply understood that she liked him, evident from the brightness in her eyes.
But now, the woman he loved had gone missing, which left Li Rui very worried.
Next, Zhu Yunzhi tried to calm down because only by calming his own emotions could he help his teammate find peace.
Suddenly, a light rain began to fall from the sky. It mirrored Li Rui's feelings at that moment—wanting to cry but unable to do so, filled with unwillingness and sorrow over Hui Fen's inexplicable disappearance.
The air was not only sorrowful; his heart felt equally desolate.
At that moment, in Hu San's office, a man dressed in a black robe entered and slightly cupped his hands in greeting. "Boss, we have found the evidence; that person is indeed not reliable."
Hu San's body stiffened slightly upon hearing this, and his face turned ashen. "Did the witness see it with their own eyes?"
The man nodded, his eyes revealing a hint of certainty.
Hu San immediately became angry, slamming his hand on the table, splashing some tea onto it.
"Good! I had my suspicions about him before, but since he saved my life, I didn't think much of it. Hmph! Now it seems I trusted him too much back then." Hu San's eyes widened as he gritted his teeth in anger.
"So Skull, what should we do next?" the man asked calmly while cupping his hands again.
"Is there any need to ask? Bring him here immediately!" Hu San angrily commanded.
"Skull, don't worry. I took action last night. Our biggest beauty, Hui Fen, has been seen frequently with Li Rui. Last night, I already..." The man's lips curled into a cold smile.
"Oh, you did a good job with this." Hu San said excitedly, as if he had found a way to control Li Rui.
In fact, that person was also envious of Li Rui being with Hui Fen. Hui Fen was pure-hearted and couldn't distinguish between good and bad, but she had a youthful heart and beautiful looks, making everyone here idolize her. However, she was messed up by Li Rui, which made this group of people unhappy.
"Hmph. Li Rui, I must see how you came in here and how you plan to leave!" Hu San smirked coldly, his eyes narrowing slightly. He then sighed deeply, feeling that Hui Fen, such a beautiful girl, was truly being wasted.

The rain fell heavier and heavier, the torrential sound making Li Rui even more irritable. Since he hadn't brought an umbrella, he had been staying at Zhu Yunzhi's house.
The rumbling thunder was quite frightening. Li Rui pondered while Zhu Yunzhi kept trying to comfort him but to no avail.
Suddenly, Li Rui froze all over as the surroundings lit up instantly. He exchanged glances with Zhu Yunzhi, both feeling that something was amiss. This was exactly what Li Rui was worried about; it felt like adding fuel to the fire.
Outside, the sparse footsteps suggested that there were already hundreds of people.
Then came a loud bang as the door was kicked open, causing Li Rui to frown.
Another Captain walked in with a smile on his face, but aside from the scar on his face, he wore an expression of disdain.
"Li Rui, Captain, what a coincidence! We were just looking for you," the man said with a tone that made Li Rui uncomfortable.
However, Li Rui pretended not to understand and calmly replied, "Captain Wang, what brings you here?"
The man’s expression turned fierce. "What brings me here? You should know that yourself."
Li Rui shot him a fierce glare in return and then sat down calmly to drink his tea.
The person then pointed at Zhu Yunzhi and said, "Why is there no information about you at headquarters? You didn't sneak in, did you?"
Zhu Yunzhi immediately slammed the table, "What do you mean by that?" This quick rebuttal was meant to convince others of Zhu Yunzhi's credibility.
Li Rui smiled, "What are you here for?"
The person immediately adopted a fighting stance, "To kill you!" Li Rui had heard such childish threats many times; many wanted to kill him, but none had succeeded.
Li Rui sighed deeply, "Can you really kill me?"
"Why not try and find out?" the person raised an eyebrow. At that moment, someone wearing Black Leather Boots stepped out from the crowd.
Li Rui asked, "Where is Hui Fen? Did you do something to her?"
A group of people fell silent before one of them opened up, "So what if we did!"
Li Rui became furious, "Where is Hui Fen?"
