Li Rui forced a smile, not having thought much about it. He just wanted to take a quick look at the crystal ball.

Little did they know, a sudden explosion startled Li Rui, reminiscent of a previous incident. The next scene left Li Rui frozen in place.
The two stared wide-eyed at each other, afraid they might have mistaken who they were looking at.
"It’s you!" they exclaimed in unison.
The Grand Elder was momentarily confused by the situation before him. Looking at Li Rui's demeanor, he felt a sense of suspicion; it was clear that the two were acquainted from before.
"How did you end up here?" the Mad Old Man asked.
"Well, he is the future of the Tai Xuan Sect..."
"I didn't ask you!" A domineering remark cut off the Grand Elder's words.
The Grand Elder felt extremely frustrated; it seemed that the Mad Old Man was showing some anger.
"Senior, I didn't even get a thank you for helping you succeed in Alchemy last time before you slipped away. That's not very nice!" Li Rui said with a calm smile.
The Mad Old Man then chuckled and casually put his arm around Li Rui's shoulder as they walked into the thatched cottage, seemingly wanting to ask him something while completely ignoring the Grand Elder. It dawned on him that he had misjudged the situation; he hadn't expected Li Rui to have such a connection with this person. Had he known, he wouldn't have gone through so much trouble.
