Imagining is always so beautiful, while reality is painfully stark.
A slight turn had already interrupted Li Rui's powerful attack. The Water Fire Staff struck the ground, sending up a cloud of yellow sand, and a series of booming vibrations rushed up from the ground.
At the same time, beneath the spreading yellow sand, the Knight became almost invisible, while a floating blade suddenly changed direction and slashed fiercely toward Li Rui.

It felt like hitting air; it had no effect at all. Li Rui couldn't help but smile; everything began to make sense—this was merely an illusion.
Yet the tension that arose from within him had never existed; this feeling was truly bizarre.
"It seems this child has already realized the surrounding illusions. The momentum he just displayed is something even my younger self never possessed! Truly, heroes emerge from youth!" Grand Elder murmured.
However, Li Rui paid no mind to the approaching Knight; he simply stepped forward.
About an hour later, the Phantom Knight behind began to fade away, while a shadow appeared before him, ghostly and elusive.
He sat atop the stone tablet, his fierce gaze fixed on Li Rui.
For Li Rui, this was the first time he felt such a sense of crisis; it seemed that this figure was not merely an illusion, and perhaps he would be unable to withstand any attack it might launch.
Li Rui wanted to evade the shadow before him, but suddenly a loud "bang" echoed in his ears.
As a gust of yellow sand swept in, Li Rui had no choice but to step back a few paces, observing the situation ahead.
As the smoke cleared, the figure came into view, expressionless, as if it could annihilate Li Rui at any moment.
In this situation, he had to choose to attack proactively; otherwise, things could get troublesome.
With a loud roar, Li Rui drew his Water Fire Staff, lightly touched the ground, and soared into the air, aiming for the figure's head in an attempt to deliver a decisive blow.
With only two meters between them, the figure casually extended two fingers and with an overwhelming force that seemed to shake mountains, instantly rendered Li Rui powerless.
The two fingers clamped down on the Water Fire Staff, leaving Li Rui feeling particularly helpless; he had never anticipated such a turn of events, and it seemed he could not pull his staff free.
Then, with a casual release of his grip, the figure swung his hand sharply, sending Li Rui flying along with his Water Fire Staff, all in the blink of an eye.
The figure once again sat atop the stone tablet, gazing into the boundless void as if lost in thought, completely disregarding Li Rui.
After stumbling to his feet, Li Rui looked at this barrier; could it be that he could not pass? That feeling just now had been all too real, without a hint of fantasy.
"Enough. You can come back now. The Seventh Layer is already quite impressive!" Grand Elder communicated to Li Rui.
However, he could not listen. Those who wanted to hinder his progress would have to fall at his feet. Li Rui's heart hardened.
Once again, he wielded the Water Fire Staff and struck at the figure before him.
Little did he know, in the following moments, he was sent flying dozens of times, blood seeping from the corners of his mouth and flowing into his clothes.
With a roar, Li Rui struck again.
"Why do you persist like this? Knowing you can't defeat me, what drives you to act this way?" The figure suddenly spoke.
"I don't even know what I'm doing! All I know is that I can either walk past here or fall here; those are my only two choices," Li Rui laughed maniacally, not taking the figure seriously at all.
In the next moment, Li Rui realized he was mistaken; this person's strength was unexpectedly formidable, and the power just displayed was astonishingly effortless. Everything came too suddenly and terrifyingly!
"Let's play a game! If you win, I'll let you pass; if you lose, you'll obediently roll back. I'm only afraid that a once-in-a-thousand-years talent like you will fall here."
Li Rui thought for a moment; it seemed this was the only way out. It looked like a fierce battle was unavoidable today.
"What do you want to play?"
"Very simple. Just close your eyes for three breaths, and if you can find me within half a minute, then you win."
Li Rui nodded. He might not be good at other things, but he had his X-Ray Vision for this!
Then Li Rui closed his eyes directly. After a few deep breaths, he slowly opened them again, but the figure had already vanished without a trace.
In the next moment, Li Rui couldn't help but grin, suppressing the explosive energy within him and replacing it with calmness.
He closed his eyes once again and used the Azure Dragon Breathing Technique to activate his X-Ray Vision. In a daze, a pair of penetrating eyes swept across the entire space.
At the same time, a figure sensed something was off, as if someone had been peering at their body.
"This is it, come out!" Li Rui said as he walked up to a stone and pointed at it.
"Hahaha! I didn't expect such an interesting fellow to show up this time. I'll give you half a minute, but you've already used up half of it. I'm impressed."
If he knew that Li Rui currently possessed X-Ray Vision, he might have been jumping up and down in anger.
Just as Li Rui was about to move forward, the figure called out to him.
"Here, take this!"
A set of Heart Protector Armor appeared in Li Rui's hands. For some reason, it seemed that this Heart Protector Armor was quite impressive; according to the figure, it could withstand a powerful attack from the God Binding Realm.
