Aoxinchin was already beautiful, with an ethereal quality that surpassed ordinary women. Now, her weak appearance combined with a determined and loving expression left Lu Feng mesmerized, feeling that the woman before him was more stunning than any he had encountered before.
Aoxinchin's weak voice brought Lu Feng back to reality: "I can't go on, but my son is still here. Can you help me take him back to the West Sea Dragon Palace and hand him over to my father and Mother Empress? They will surely reward you."
"You shouldn't say that; you should take care of your son yourself," Lu Feng hurriedly comforted the beauty. "Don't worry about your health; Bai Tang can help you recover. She is a divine healer."
Aoxinchin clearly did not believe him. How could a mortal healer possibly treat an immortal?
"Really, Bai Tang's medical skills are exceptional; you should trust me!"
Bai Tang raised an eyebrow at Lu Feng, realizing he was using her to gain favor. If she didn't understand what was happening by now, she would be foolish. However, if Lu Feng was sincere, that wouldn't be bad; a wayward son who truly loves someone would not easily betray them. Lu Feng and Aoxinchin, such a pairing seemed quite fitting. Aoxinchin was far superior to those women like Shaman Ouyang Qing, none of whom were virtuous.
"Third Princess, I have a bottle of medicine here; you can try it," Bai Tang said as she took out a bottle of Red Medicine and handed it to Aoxinchin. Even without system identification, she could tell that Aoxinchin's current state was due to severe postpartum hemorrhage, needing both blood replenishment and hemostasis.
Aoxinchin stared at the vividly red Red Medicine, slowly reaching out her hand. She did not want to die like this; her child was still here, and she needed to care for her son. Unfortunately, she was too weak, and her hand fell limply halfway through the motion. Seeing this, Lu Feng felt a pang of sympathy and quickly snatched the bottle of Red Medicine from Bai Tang, gently supporting Aoxinchin as he carefully poured the medicine into her mouth.
Aoxinchin was astonished by the changes within her body: the bleeding stopped, the pain in her wounds faded, and her strength gradually returned.
"Good medicine!" Aoxinchin exclaimed in amazement.
Of course, Bai Tang knew her medicine was effective and smiled as she said, "Third Princess, although the Red Medicine has replenished your vitality, you still need to rest and recuperate properly."
Aoxinchin nodded in gratitude: "Thank you." She struggled to rise, and Lu Feng hurriedly assisted her. Though she appreciated the kindness of this man she had just met, she wasn't used to being close to unfamiliar men. Standing upright, she gently pulled away from Lu Feng's hand and took two steps back, brushing off her clothes in front of the three.
"I am deeply grateful for your help today; I will remember it well. If you ever need anything from me in the future, please feel free to ask."
"No need for that; it was just a small effort on our part," Lu Feng quickly waved his hand as he felt a sense of emptiness in his heart upon hearing Aoxinchin's words.
Hua Man Lou also declined: "Third Princess, there’s no need for concern. Helping those in distress is what we chivalrous people should do. And don't be polite with Lu Feng, he loves helping beautiful ladies like you."
As a good friend, if Hua Man Lou couldn't see through Lu Feng's feelings, then he wouldn't deserve to be Lu Feng's friend. However, occasionally teasing Lu Feng and holding him back was also a kind of fun.
Aoxinchin's face turned slightly red; Lu Feng's behavior was so obvious that she couldn't possibly miss it. But she was a woman abandoned by someone, and now had a child—how could that person possibly like her? Was she out of her mind?
"Third Princess, the child has just been born; it's better not to expose him to the cold wind for too long," Bai Tang reminded Aoxinchin. The baby Aoxinchin gave birth to was neither a dragon nor a dragon egg, but a normal human-looking infant, fair and tender, very cute. Bai Tang couldn't help but pinch the baby's cheek.
"Ah!" Aoxinchin panicked at the reminder and held her son even tighter. "If everyone doesn't mind, please come to my home and sit for a while!"
"We don't mind, we don't mind!" Lu Feng smiled so widely it seemed his face might split.
Aoxinchin lived not in the sea but in a grove near the beach. Knowing she had a child, Aoxinchin worried that the damp and dark environment of the sea would not be suitable for him, so she built a wooden house in the grove. The wooden house was very simple, with even simpler decorations inside—just a bed, a table, and a few chairs; there was no other furniture. Seeing the furnishings inside the house, the four of them sighed. Aoxinchin could have been living comfortably in the luxurious Dragon Palace but had now fallen to living in such a shabby place. Bai Tang felt even more resentment towards Chang'e—there was no way she could dislike Yang Erlang, one of her favorite idols, so all her grievances had to be directed at Chang'e.
"There’s no hot water; I’ll go boil some!" Aoxinchin felt embarrassed; her home was too simple, lacking even tea to serve guests, so she could only offer them plain water.
"You just gave birth; you should rest well. We can handle it," Bai Tang stopped Aoxinchin and urged her to sit on the bed to rest while taking care of her newborn. Then she kicked Lu Feng with her foot, telling him to go boil water.
"Why me?" Lu Feng complained.
Bai Tang shot him an annoyed glance: "I'm giving you a chance to show off!"
Bai Tang then asked Aoxinchin: "Is the baby hungry? You should feed him first; we'll wait for you outside."
Aoxinchin nodded with a flushed face. Bai Tang and Hua Man Lou along with Karen Adrian stepped out of the house and kindly closed the door behind them.
"Poor Third Princess!" Hua Man Lou sighed. "The innocent child is pitiful; being born without a father in such an environment is not good for his growth."
"What can be done? Third Princess is currently imprisoned here by the Jade Emperor and cannot leave," Bai Tang sighed, feeling very sorry for Aoxinchin and her child.
"Why not contact Erlang Shen directly and let him take care of Third Princess and her child? After all, they are his wife and son. A child cannot grow up without a father's love!" Hua Man Lou thought that since they already had a child, it would be better for the couple to reconcile.
Bai Tang pouted, "The Third Princess has been deeply hurt by Yang Jian, and she probably doesn't want to reconcile with him anymore. Besides, your good brother has fallen for the Third Princess; are you going to hold him back?"
Hua Man Lou sighed, "It's precisely because I know Lu Feng's feelings that I want to stop him. Both Lu Feng and I are ordinary mortals with a lifespan of only a hundred years, while the Third Princess is a celestial being, almost immortal. How could they possibly be together? After a hundred years, what will happen to the Third Princess?"
"Well..." Bai Tang had no rebuttal. The gap between Lu Feng and Aocunxin was not just that of mortals and celestial beings; they were also separated by time and space.
Hua Man Lou continued, "We are merely passersby in this world; we will eventually return to our original world. Why should we let Lu Feng get entangled in emotional debts?"
Bai Tang replied, "I understand your intentions regarding Lu Feng, but I agree that we should inform Yang Jian about the child. You don't know; Yang Jian is currently planning something that could shake the heavens. He might end up opposing all the celestial beings in the heavenly realm. If he finds out he has a son, it could distract him and put the child in danger."
"Is it that serious?" Hua Man Lou was surprised. What was Erlang Shen planning to do that would pit him against the entire heavenly realm? Was he going to shoot down the sun again or overthrow the Jade Emperor?
Bai Tang said, "This matter must not be known to the Third Princess; otherwise, she might disregard her own safety for that man."
Seeing Bai Tang's serious demeanor, Hua Man Lou could only nod, "I won't tell the Third Princess."
A voice calling for them came from inside the room. The three of them pushed the door open and saw Aoxinchin had already fed the child. The baby was in high spirits, occasionally blowing milk bubbles for entertainment; it was adorable. Bai Tang finally couldn't resist and reached out his hand toward the baby's soft face.
Lu Feng entered with a water jug and saw Bai Tang tormenting his beloved's child. He slapped Bai Tang's hand away, saying, "Stop rubbing the baby's face; it will make him drool all the time."
Bai Tang rubbed his hand and said, "Oh, look at you, Lord Lu! You actually know this kind of common knowledge about taking care of children?!"
Lu Feng scoffed and looked around for a cup to fill with water. "Haven't you ever seen a pig run after eating one?"
Bai Tang grinned mischievously, "Right! With so many beautiful acquaintances like Lu the Hero, who knows which one has already helped you have children!"
Lu Feng stole a glance at Aoxinchin and shot a fierce glare at Bai Tang. "What children? Don't ruin my image!"
"Flower Playboy's image!" Bai Tang laughed as he watched Lu Feng blindly searching around like a headless chicken. He directly pulled out several cups and bowls from his backpack.
Lu Feng poured water into a cup and handed it to Aoxinchin, saying, "Drink some hot water to warm up."
"Thank you!" Aoxinchin sincerely expressed her gratitude. It was early autumn, and the weather had just turned cool. After giving birth, Aoxinchin felt weak and was sensitive to the chill.
"No need to thank me. You must be tired from holding the baby; let me hold him for a bit," Lu Feng said, feeling sorry for Aoxinchin's pale face and volunteering to help.
"No, it's fine. I'll just put him on the bed," Aoxinchin replied as she gently placed the child on the bed. Away from Mother's warm and soft embrace, the baby felt uncomfortable lying on the hard, cool surface and immediately began to cry loudly in protest.
Aoxinchin felt a pang of heartache and wanted to pick up her son to soothe him, but Lu Feng was quicker and lifted the baby gently, rocking him softly until the crying gradually subsided.
"Lu Feng, you seem quite experienced at holding babies! How many have you held?" Bai Tang chimed in, teasingly.
Lu Feng ignored Bai Tang and asked Aoxinchin, "Third Princess, have you named the baby yet?"
Aoxinchin felt a sharp pain in her heart. "No, but I want him to have the surname Yang. However, for our Dragon Clan to carry the Ao surname, we must enter the Ancestral Land and gain recognition from the Ancient Dragon. With me as his mother, this child will never have a chance to enter the Ancestral Land."
Seeing Aoxinchin's sadness, Lu Feng quickly said, "Then let's give him a different surname! No matter what surname this child has, he will always be your son."
