Bai Tang will handle everything brought back from Yi World. In the Apocalyptic World, they are becoming increasingly adept at fighting zombies, but the climate and environment have not improved at all. The future of humanity remains a heavy burden.
"Bai Tang, are you really not a deity?" Tian Yuan asked with a sigh. Every time Bai Tang returned to Beijing Base, their friends would gather at Bai Tang's home for a feast. This time, the table was filled with delicious vegetarian dishes that Bai Tang had packed from Wudang Mountain.
"I am, do you believe it?" Bai Tang replied with a sideways glance.
"I believe!" Tian Yuan nodded vigorously.
Bai Tang was momentarily taken aback: "Aren't you supposed to say 'I don't believe'?"
"No way, who told you that you've become so powerful and mysterious that you don't seem human anymore?" Tian Yuan said. "Look at Yi Qian, he's about to form his golden core; your realm must be higher than his. You might have already crossed the tribulation and become a quasi-immortal! What else could you be if not a deity?"
"You think too highly of me." She thought about how hard she worked on missions to kill zombies; she was only at the initial stage of merging and still had a long way to go before crossing the tribulation.
"Master, how long will you stay this time?" Yi Qian was no longer the tearful boy he used to be when his master left; he had grown accustomed to his master's unpredictable comings and goings. However, he still felt reluctant every time his master departed.
"Three days!" Bai Tang initially planned to leave early in the morning but extended her stay by two days upon seeing her disciple's admiring gaze.
"That works perfectly since I have a vacation afterward!" Yi Qian said happily. "Master, there are many things I don't understand in my cultivation; can you guide me then?"
"Of course. Yang Kang will come too, and I'll guide both of you."
"Thank you, Master Ancestor." Yang Kang's drooping mouth curled up again. It was rare to have a day off; how could Master leave him alone to spend it?
Yang Kang's comprehension was even higher than Yi Qian's. Although he didn't have any spiritual tools to assist his cultivation, his progress was not much slower than Yi Qian's, and he was on the verge of establishing his foundation.
Bai Tang thought for a moment and said, "You both take two days off, and I'll take you to the world of Yi. It's safer there than here, and the environment and spiritual energy are relatively stable. It's suitable for your breakthroughs."
"Thank you, Master/Grandmaster."
Yang Kang felt a bit awkward. In that world, there were descendants of his bloodline, but his son was already dead, and even his great-great-grandson had married and had children. Yet, this ancestor of his was clearly very young. The young Yang Ancestor had still gone to meet his descendants before closing himself off to break through to the Foundation Establishment stage. The impact of his appearance on Yang Xiao and Yang Yuchang was immense, and it is unnecessary to describe it in detail here. The two of them had each secluded themselves for half a year and a year in Yi World, respectively, reaching the Foundation Establishment and Golden Core stages.
Bai Tang borrowed the back mountain of Wudang for the two to meditate, and so it was that Yi Qian formed his Golden Core there. The back mountain of Wudang was filled with astonishing sights that stunned everyone: first, it seemed as if the world was about to face Extinction, as twenty-seven massive bolts of lightning struck down from the sky, each larger than the last. Their might was such that even the Wudang Seven Heroes could not withstand it and had to retreat from Wudang Mountain, leaving only Zhang Sanfeng and Song Qing Shu at the peak, watching the commotion in awe. After the twenty-seven tribulation lightning strikes, the dark clouds in the sky suddenly dissipated, and red rays of light filled the entire sky, with clouds transforming into a scene of galloping horses. People around Wudang Mountain could faintly hear the sounds of thousands of horses neighing. Ordinary people regarded this phenomenon as a manifestation of divine beings. They hurriedly gathered soil to burn incense and knelt down in worship. Surprisingly, this act proved effective; the divine beings generously bestowed their favor upon them. Everyone caught a whiff of a faintly fragrant aroma, which invigorated them; martial artists felt an increase in their internal energy, while ordinary citizens found their aches and pains vanished in an instant, and those who were ill noticeably felt much better...
"Thank you, divine beings! Thank you!" At this point, no one dared to question the divine signs.
"The commotion caused by Master’s Golden Core phenomenon is truly remarkable!" Yang Kang remarked.
Bai Tang smiled; this phenomenon was not solely her credit; the healing fragrance was not something that could be possessed by just any Golden Core phenomenon...
Yi Qian flew down from the mountaintop, feeling guilty as he said, "What a beautiful peak! It has been ruined because of me."
In their view, Yi Qian's tribulation-struck peak was pockmarked and had lost ten meters in height; its summit had turned to scorched earth, barren and desolate.
"What are we going to say to Wudang?" Yi Qian said with a bitter expression, showing no excitement from forming his Golden Core.
Bai Tang was very pleased with her disciple's performance; he did not become arrogant after achieving his Golden Core but instead felt guilty for destroying someone else's home. Such a mindset is essential for walking the path of Cultivation. Cultivation is about refining one's heart; if one cultivates a cold heart and views ordinary people as ants—being proud and arrogant—it would be surprising if they could go far. Cultivators should hold a benevolent heart, constantly self-reflecting and doing good deeds while avoiding unnecessary killings; this way, when facing tribulations, they would not attract destructive heavenly tribulations. Unfortunately, few understand such principles.
"Don't worry; isn't your Master here?" Although her disciple had become a powerful expert at the Golden Core stage rather than the boy who used to rely on her, Bai Tang still affectionately patted Yi Qian's head like a true Master while Yi Qian squinted his eyes in enjoyment.
Bai Tang opened her sect's Manor and moved various grains, vegetables, fruit trees, and medicinal herbs from the Manor to plant on the barren mountaintop. She also released some chickens, ducks, rabbits, cows, sheep, and pigs raised in the Manor.
"It's a pity there are no rivers or ponds at this peak; we can't raise fish!" Bai Tang lamented.
Thus, when the people from Wudang arrived at the back mountain, they found that what was once forested land had transformed into a bustling Farmhouse Fun scene that left the Wudang Seven Heroes dumbfounded.
Zhang Songxi: "Bai Senior has given us a logistics base!"
Song Yuanqiao: "Azure Wind, you can find a few disciples to manage this place. From now on, this peak will be under your care."
"Yes, Master Uncle."
Azure Wind and Mingyue were caretakers of the paralyzed Yu Daiyan in the original story. In this world, Yu Daiyan is doing well and does not require their close attention, so the two have spent most of their time training in martial arts, becoming outstanding figures of the fourth generation of Wudang.
The news of Wudang's miraculous occurrences quickly spread throughout the Great Yan Kingdom. Many people from as far away as the Northern Desert and Southern Sea came in groups to pay their respects to the miraculous site, burning incense and bowing to seek blessings from the immortals. The incense offerings at Wudang Mountain increased more than tenfold. Eventually, even the emperor was stirred and came to Wudang Mountain to admire the transformed back mountain, ordering Song Yuanqiao to present a batch of fruits and vegetables produced from the back mountain to the palace each year—the emperor believed that consuming items left by immortals would surely lead to longevity. Both the emperor and the common people thought that the reason immortals descended upon Wudang Mountain instead of other more picturesque mountains was because there existed a Half-Immortal named Zhang Sanfeng. Thus, he specifically issued an edict granting Zhang Sanfeng the title of Tongwei Xianhua Zun. Unfortunately, he did not get to meet this living immortal because Zhang Sanfeng had entered seclusion after witnessing Yi Qian's breakthrough into the Golden Core stage, and he had closed himself off completely, not planning to emerge until he achieved a breakthrough.
Twenty years later, when everyone began to forget about Wudang's miraculous occurrences, another miracle appeared. People living near Wudang Mountain witnessed Old Immortal Zhang Sanfeng ascend in broad daylight. He could no longer be referred to as "Old" Immortal because Zhang Zhenren appeared youthful with black hair and a face resembling someone in their twenties at the moment of his ascension. Once again, Wudang gained fame, and people in the martial world regarded joining Wudang Mountain as their ultimate goal. As long as one entered the Wudang sect, there was hope; who knew if they too could ascend in broad daylight? Other sects were extremely frustrated as they could not recruit good disciples; everyone was flocking to Wudang. Even if Wudang refused them, it would still tarnish their own sect's reputation! Among them, Shaolin felt the most disheartened since Zhang Sanfeng was a former disciple who had abandoned Shaolin; their sect's reputation had been severely damaged by him. Meanwhile, their founding patriarch Bodhidharma had also attained Buddhahood. The youth were asked why they did not join Shaolin, to which they replied that Buddha could not marry!
Due to Bai Tang and Yi Qian's butterfly effect, Zhang Sanfeng shattered the void a hundred years earlier than expected, leaving behind hope and legacy for this world. Song Qing Shu, who witnessed Yi Qian's tribulation alongside him, also gained significant insights; with diligent cultivation, he too could shatter the void. However, Song Qing Shu, being a romantic at heart, could not let go of his wife Zhou Zhiruo. He would rather die on the same day as her than abandon her for immortality. It was truly unfortunate for his talent. But life is a choice one makes; for Song Qing Shu, growing old together with his wife was happiness.
The four individuals who triggered all these events returned to the Apocalyptic World. Yi Qian and Yang Kang resumed their positions and continued to shine brightly. Yi Qian is now an unparalleled master. Bai Tang and O Haosheng discussed matters and decided to officially promote cultivation with government support to establish a cultivation sect. Tian Yuan was appointed as the sect leader while Yi Qian and Yang Kang became the grand elder and second elder respectively—both preferring not to manage affairs. As for Bai Tang? Don't bother me; I'm busy making money!
Busy making money, Bai Tang returned to Lufeng World with a backpack full of glass. Bai Dad found that there were too few winter vegetables in ancient times and decided to grow greenhouse vegetables. Having grown up in towns, neither Bai Dad nor Bai Ma had any experience in farming skills. They only had a rough idea about things like planting two seasons after nurturing seedlings; it was only after discussing with experienced old farmers near Manor that they decided to test things out within Manor before promoting it on a larger scale once results were seen. Now, the method of planting rice twice a year has been promoted throughout Luozhen; even the County Magistrate made a special trip to Luozhen for advice and presented these methods to the emperor, who then decreed its promotion nationwide. This significantly improved the lives of common people; at least they had enough food to eat now. Bai Dad felt very accomplished due to this matter and was enthusiastic about teaching modern efficient agricultural techniques to everyone in this world so that all impoverished masses could fundamentally solve their hunger issues.
