Qiu Chuji Although he lost, he felt quite pleased to see old friends and their descendants again. Twirling his beard, he said, “Brother Yang, back in the day, you jokingly mentioned wanting to become in-laws with Guo. Now there’s an opportunity, isn’t there?”
Yang Tiexin was surprised: “But Kang'er and Jing'er are both boys. How can they be husbands?”
Qiu Chuji laughed: “Don’t you have a daughter? Miss Mu is of similar age to Guo Jing. Let me act as their matchmaker. What do you think?”
Hearing this, Guo Jing and Mu Nianci both changed their expressions and looked at Huang Rong and Yang Kang. The difference was that Huang Rong responded to Guo Jing, while Yang Kang didn’t even give Mu Nianci a glance.
Yang Tiexin, however, was overjoyed and repeatedly praised, “Good idea, good idea!” Guo Jing was the son of his sworn brother and had such good character; if he could become his son-in-law, it couldn’t be better.
“Then I’ll trouble the Daoist Priest! ” Yang Tiexin said happily.
“I don’t want to!” Guo Jing and Mu Nianci spoke simultaneously.
Everyone looked at the two in surprise. Mu Nianci, blushing, timidly said, “I want to stay by my father’s side to take care of him. I don’t want to get married!”
Everyone thought she was just shy. Yang Tiexin chuckled and said, “Silly girl, you can still take care of me after getting married! I’ve already decided to settle down in Niujia Village. Once Jing'er brings back his wife, we can still be neighbors like before!”
Qiu Chuji asked Guo Jing: “The girl is shy; why are you unwilling? Do you think Miss Mu isn’t worthy of you?”
“No, no…” Guo Jing’s face turned bright red. “It’s that I’m not worthy of Miss Mu!”
Han Ying, cherishing his disciple, saw him in embarrassment and quickly explained for him: “We learned that Mr. Yang’s descendants are boys, so the betrothal agreement is no longer necessary. Therefore, Jing'er has already been betrothed in Mongolia. The Great Khan, Genghis Khan, has conferred upon him the title of Golden Sabre Prince.”
Qiu Chuji’s expression darkened. He glared at Guo Jing and coldly said, “Well then, they are of noble birth; how can they be compared to ordinary people? Are you completely disregarding your ancestors’ wishes? To seek wealth and forget your roots like this will only disappoint your father!”
Guo Jing felt very anxious. He bowed and said, “Disciple absolutely has no such thoughts!”
Han Ying said, "It's common for men to have three wives and four concubines. In the future, you can tell the Great Khan about this—one husband with two wives. It's a win-win situation, what's wrong with that? I see Genghis Khan himself has more than a hundred wives."
Guo Jing replied, "I will not marry Princess Huazheng. I only see her as a sister, a good friend. I do not want her as my wife."
Qiu Chuji happily said, "Good child, you have ambition. Who cares about the Great Khan or the princess? You should still follow your father and Uncle Yang's advice and marry Miss Mu."
Unexpectedly, Guo Jing shook his head again and said, "I will not marry Miss Mu either."
Everyone was puzzled and did not know what he was thinking. Han Ying, being a woman, was particularly perceptive and quietly asked, "Do you have someone else in mind?"
Guo Jing's face turned red, and after a moment, he finally nodded.
Han Baoju and Qiu Chuji asked in unison, "Who is it?"
Guo Jing hesitated and did not answer.
Han Ying recalled seeing Guo Jing being close to Huang Rong earlier and then noticed Mu Nianci stealing glances at Yang Kang. She thought to herself: no wonder these young people are reluctant; it turns out they each have someone they like. Qiu Daoshang has become the culprit of breaking up this pair!
Just as she was about to speak, Huang Rong jumped out: "Don't pressure Brother Jing! He likes me, and I like him. The person he wants to marry is me, not some princess or Miss Mu!"
Guo Jing nodded vigorously.
The Jiangnan Six Freaks and Qiu Chuji were annoyed: "How can you be so shameless? Didn't your mother teach you that girls should be reserved?"
Huang Rong's eyes turned red: "I don't have a mother! You all bully me; I will have my father teach you a lesson!"
Qiu Chuji snorted, "What kind of great person is your father that he needs to teach us a lesson? Such arrogance!"
Huang Rong puffed out her cheeks and said proudly, "I came out to scare you! My father is one of the Five Greats, Eastern Heretic Huang Yaoshi, who is as famous as your Master Zhong Shentong Wang Chongyang!"
The three old Taoists and Jiangnan Six Freaks were speechless.
Han Baoju jumped up, "You are actually the daughter of that villain Huang Yaoshi? You witch! Jing'er, you must stay away from this witch!"
Guo Jing whispered, "Rong'er is like this, I think... I think her father can't be a villain."
Han Baoju retorted, "Nonsense! Huang Yaoshi is utterly evil; how can he not be a villain? Mei Chaofeng and Chen Xuanfeng are his disciples, and those two kill without blinking. How could he be any better? You must swear an oath to never see this witch again." The Jiangnan Six Freaks harbored deep hatred for the Black Wind Duo for causing the death of Xiaomituo Zhang Asheng, and they also despised their master, believing that if it weren't for the great demon Huang Yaoshi, Zhang Asheng would not have died unjustly.
Guo Jing felt extremely troubled; on one hand was the deep gratitude to his master, and on the other was his profound love. He thought that if he could never see Rong'er again, how could he live his life? He saw that several masters were looking at him with stern expressions, and his heart ached. He knelt down, tears streaming down his cheeks.
Han Baoju stepped forward and said sternly, "Quick! Never see that witch again."
Seeing Guo Jing being pressured like this made Huang Rong both heartbroken and angry. She shouted, "Why are you forcing him like this? How shameless! Jing Gege, let's ignore them! Let's go!"
She pulled Guo Jing out of the house. The red horse was outside, and Huang Rong tugged at Guo Jing's waist clothing. They both mounted the red horse at the same time. As Huang Rong pulled on the reins, the horse shot forward like an arrow released from a bow. No matter how fast Han Baoju was, he couldn't catch up to this swift steed. By the time Guo Jing calmed down and looked back, Han Baoju and the others had already become indistinct figures; in an instant, they turned into black dots. He only felt a rush of wind by his ears as the red horse galloped at incredible speed.
The remaining people looked at each other in dismay; this marriage was doomed to fail. Han Ying sent Mu Nianci and Yang Kang away and said to the others, "Don't blame Jing'er; even without Miss Huang, Jing'er and Miss Mu wouldn't work out."
"Seventh Sister, what's wrong?" Zhu Cong asked.
Han Ying replied, "I just observed; it's not just Jing'er who doesn't like Miss Mu; Miss Mu doesn't like Jing'er either. Miss Mu likes Young Master Yang!"
Everyone was stunned, and then Qiu Chuji laughed heartily, "Yang, my old brother, you have raised a good daughter! You've given yourself a daughter-in-law! When can we celebrate your son and daughter-in-law's wedding?"
Yang Tiexin was overjoyed, "Once we return to Niujia Village, we'll hold a banquet. Everyone must come and have a drink!"
Yi Qian listened quietly, not wanting to dampen their spirits: Getting married? Dream on! His own disciple was not someone easy to handle; thinking that parental orders could make his disciple marry a woman he didn't like was absolutely wishful thinking.
Next, the group split up and left Zhongdu: the Jiangnan Six Freaks headed south back to their hometown of Jiaxing while looking for their disciple along the way; the Quanzhen Three Disciples returned to Quanzhen Sect; Yang Tiexin took his son and future "daughter-in-law" back to Niujia Village; Yi Qian gave the house deed and land deed of Niujia Village to Yang Kang, as he would never return there. He wanted to visit the Lingjiu Palace in the mountains; see the Wuliang Jade Wall in Dali; meet the Great Eagle in Xiangyang and pay respects to Dugu Qiubai; and take a stroll through the Sutra Repository at Shaolin Temple...
When Yi Qian returned from the desert to the Central Plains, two people sought him out.
"Master!" The familiar figures brought tears to Yi Qian's eyes. "What brings you here?"
"Of course, we came to find you," Bai Tang smiled. "We were lucky; we found you just two months after arriving in this world."
Yi Qian was deeply moved: "Master, it's mostly my fault for dragging you down! But I am already working hard to find a way back to that world!"
"No need to look anymore!" Bai Tang said. "I have a way to return. But are you sure you want to go back? This world may be a bit backward, but it's a hundred times safer than the apocalyptic world filled with zombies!"
Yi Qian nodded firmly: "I want to go back. That world may be dangerous and broken, but it's where my grandparents and mother lived and rested, and it's also where I grew up. My uncle is still waiting for me there!"
Bai Tang said, "Alright, then once I'm done having fun here, we'll go back together!"
Yi Qian asked, "Huh?"
Bai Tang explained, "After I arrived, I realized this world is from The Legend of the Condor Heroes. Since I came here to find you, I didn't go watch those main characters. Now that I've found you, of course I want to observe the protagonists and the plot for a bit, maybe even cause a little butterfly effect—it's bound to be fun!"
Yi Qian spoke apologetically, "The plot of The Legend of the Condor Heroes has been altered a bit."
"What did you do?" Bai Tang asked with great interest.
"I took Yang Kang as my disciple, and he has started Cultivation now..."
"......" Bai Tang (╯□╰), "Will Yang Guo still be born?"
The Divine Eagle hero is destined to be born! In the third act, Yang Kang approached Yi Qian, looking very unwell, his emotions on the verge of breaking down. If he wasn't careful, he might fall into madness!
"Yang Kang, what happened?" Yi Qian asked with concern and confusion.
Yang Kang began to cry in grievance, "Master, I don't want to acknowledge that kind of father! Can you let me stay by your side? I don't want to see those two people again!"
Yi Qian patted the head of the child he had raised and said, "I want to take you with me too, but my Master and your Grandmaster are going to take me away. We can't bring you along!"
Yang Kang looked at the woman sitting at the head of the table. She wasn't particularly beautiful but had a comfortable presence, exuding a natural charm that was mysterious yet profound. Her face looked young, but Yang Kang knew that one couldn't judge a Cultivator's age by appearance; his Master hadn't changed at all after eighteen years.
"Grandmaster!" Yang Kang respectfully bowed to Bai Tang, "If you're taking away my Master, can you take me along as well?" (To be continued)
