"Take it down." Ma Congyun walked over to Chu Donglai's side. "There are so many of us, and there's only one Zombie. Besides, the early-stage Zombie moves slowly. As long as we don't get scratched by it, we should be fine." 0

The men in the company nodded in agreement. They were all Young People and had seen movies about Zombies. Although they were still frightened, the calmness of the two Leaders helped them regain some composure. Since they had managed to survive the virus without turning into Zombies, they were determined to keep living and strive to never become Zombies or die. They wondered if they might develop an Ability! The Young People thought optimistically as they searched for suitable tools to use as weapons. When everyone had picked up their "weapons" and gathered at the door, Ma Congyun and Chu Donglai moved to the Main Gate. Chu Donglai acted as a bodyguard for Ma Congyun while she hooked the iron lock from the door gap and unlocked it with a key. Then, both of them stepped back together. The Main Gate was slammed open by the Zombie, which charged in. Ding and He held a mop handle against the Zombie's chest while the other Young People raised chairs to smash it. However, even after being hit repeatedly, the Zombie showed no signs of feeling pain; instead, it became more aggressive and lunged forward, snapping the mop handle in half. The Young People were terrified and stumbled backward, their faces drained of color. This was not what they had expected; despite their numbers, they couldn't kill a single Zombie, which was a huge blow to their morale! 0

With a loud bang, a black hole appeared in the Zombie's forehead, and it collapsed to the ground. Everyone turned in shock to see a stranger among them holding a handgun. 0

"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and block the Main Gate! Aren't you afraid other Zombies will be attracted by the gunfire?" The Young Person put away his gun and raised an eyebrow. 0

"Who are you? How did you get into our company?" Ma Congyun approached the young man for small talk while Chu Donglai directed their colleagues to lock the Main Gate and pushed office furniture against it. The two worked together seamlessly. Fortunately, these two floors belonged to Yuanhang Company, and there were no more Zombies around; besides, the Zombies on other floors hadn't evolved enough to go up and down Stairs yet, so everyone inside the company was still safe. 0

"I don't know how I got in here either. I just remember that everything went dark while I was driving, and when I woke up, I wasn't in my car but in your company," the Young Person said. "Is your company Yuanhang Company? So you must be Ma Congyun?" 0

"I am! What's your name?" 0

"My name is You Ming; my game name is Ghost Prince. Nice to meet you," You Ming replied. 0

"I know you; you're one of our game's major clients," Ma Congyun said. "Are you a police officer?" 0

"No!" You Ming understood what Ma Congyun meant by her question. "I woke up in your company out of nowhere with a gun in my pocket. I really don't understand why this happened! Maybe someone related to your company saved me. If I had stayed in my car, I might have turned into a Zombie or become food for one." 0

"Cloud!" Ling Xin and Chu Donglai approached them. 0

"I just found a box of instant noodles and a large bag of snacks in your office. I remember there weren't any of those before I passed out," Ling Xin said with confusion and surprise. 0

"Before it went dark, Bai Tang had just left the company, right?" Chu Donglai remarked. They had witnessed Bai Tang's extraordinary abilities firsthand. 0

"Sure enough, she locked the door for us. Did that help us avoid the misfortune of being bitten by the Zombies?" Ling Xin said. 0

"Is your Bai Tang the one who carried me upstairs?" You Ming asked. 0

"Definitely. And I think you don't need to worry about your car anymore. Your car was definitely driven by Bai Tang; she exchanged your car for saving your life with a gun," Ling Xin said. 0

"She wasn't unconscious? What does she need my car for?" You Ming was surprised. 0

"Bai Tang is amazing! Her parents are not in Magic City; she must be driving home to find them." 0

Ma Congyun walked out of the office: "There are fifty packs of instant noodles, thirty bars of chocolate, five bags of Spicy Peanuts, three packs of sunflower seeds, and a bag of sesame paste... Although there are quite a few items, there are also many of us, so we can't eat much." 0

Chu Donglai interjected: "There's no food or drink left. Sooner or later, we'll starve. Therefore, we must leave here. Fortunately, the company is close to the suburbs; the density of Zombies is lower compared to the city. If we give it our all, we should be able to escape to a safe place." 0

"Yes!" Ma Congyun nodded in agreement. "Before we leave, let's try to gather as much food as we can from the building and practice against the Zombies inside!" 0

"I'll join you," You Ming said. "I have a gun and can help you." 0

"Try to use your gun as little as possible," Chu Donglai said. "First, gunshots are too loud and will attract Zombies; second, bullets are limited. Save them for critical moments." 0

"Then what should I use?" You Ming asked. 0

"You can take apart the four legs of a chair; they are all steel bars," Ma Congyun said. "When we killed the Zombies earlier, everyone lacked experience. Going out recklessly would just serve the Zombies a meal. We need to discuss strategies and train our skills before going out." 0

Everyone followed Ma Congyun's advice, working hard to train their skills and cooperate with each other. It was precisely because of their positive spirit that refused to be defeated by difficulties that they ultimately managed to escape safely and enter the Nation's safe zone, surviving the apocalypse intact. 0

A green-faced Zombie lunged at the road ahead, but Bai Tang remained unfazed as she pressed the accelerator, crashing into the Zombie and running it over. The quality of the imported vehicle was impressive; despite the collisions, only the front bumper was dented, and there was no significant damage otherwise. The road conditions were rough, with not only Zombies but also landslides and other obstacles making it difficult to drive the off-road vehicle. 0

"Help!" Two Young People ran out from an alley, one after the other. The first was a girl around seventeen or eighteen, tears in her eyes, clearly terrified. Behind her was a tall Young Person, obviously protecting her. 0

"Stop the car!" The girl dashed in front of the vehicle. 0

Bai Tang slammed on the brakes; she couldn't just run over someone who was clearly not a Zombie. 0

"Please, help us!" The girl pounded on the car window. 0

Bai Tang grabbed the iron sword at her side and opened the car door. There were not many Zombies following them—only about twenty. With swift strikes, Bai Tang dispatched each Zombie, saving the two from danger. 0

"Thank you, thank you so much!" The girl expressed her gratitude profusely. They had tried to seek help from others, but those people had tightly shut their doors, refusing to let them in for fear of bringing danger inside. The woman before them was the only one who responded to their plea for help. Although she had risked everything by stopping in front of the car, if she had been heartless, she could have easily run them over. But instead, she had stopped and saved them; her character seemed commendable. Best of all, she was skilled and had taken down all the Zombies in an instant. They definitely needed to stick close to her! 0

"You're amazing! Can we stay with you?" The girl asked with wide eyes full of hope. 0

"No, I need to go back to City D!" Bai Tang firmly declined. She still needed to find her parents and didn't have the energy to take on extra burdens. 0

The girl had no idea where City D was and couldn't follow Bai Tang there; she needed to find her brother. 0

"Then can you give us a ride? Just drop us off somewhere safe. Our car is wrecked!" The girl pleaded. 0

"You can get in, but he can't!" Bai Tang glanced at the young man. 0

"Why?" 0

"He was scratched by a Zombie, and he might turn into a Zombie too. I don't want to take a Zombie on the road." 0

The color drained from the faces of the girl and the man as their gazes fixed on the man's already darkening wound. 0

"Are you not getting in the car?" Bai Tang sat back in the driver's seat, her head sticking out of the window to beckon the girl. 0

The girl took a deep breath. "Thank you, master! I'm not going anymore; you go ahead!" 0

"Fu! Hurry up and get in the car, don't worry about me!" the man urged anxiously. 0

"No! I can't leave Brother Miao behind!" The girl shook her head vigorously. 0

"But I've been scratched by a Zombie; I can't protect you anymore, and I might turn into a Zombie and hurt you," the man called out. 0

"It's not certain that you'll turn into a Zombie. It says inside that if you survive after being scratched by a Zombie, you can awaken your Ability! Brother Miao, I believe in you!" The girl clenched her fists as if to bolster her own confidence. 0

The man forced a bitter smile. "Fu, you have faith in me, but I don't have faith in myself. Fu, you need to leave quickly!" 0

"I'm not leaving! You came out with me to find my brother; I can't abandon you!" The girl was incredibly stubborn. 0

"…" 0

"…" 0

Bai Tang didn't want to listen to their sentimental exchange any longer (she would never admit that she was moved by the girl's stubbornness), and shouted, "If you two keep dragging this out, the Zombies will surround us again! Both of you get in the car!" 0

"Ha?" Both the girl and the boy were stunned for a moment. After realizing what was happening, they quickly dove into the car. 0

"Master! Don't you think Brother Miao won't turn into a Zombie?" the girl asked excitedly. 0

"I only know that if he doesn't treat his wounds, he will definitely turn into a Zombie!" Bai Tang said as he took out a bottle of Antidote Pill from his backpack, pouring one out for the girl. "This is an Antidote Pill. You can dissolve it in bottled pure water, give him half to drink and use the other half to wash the wound. Whether it works or not depends on his luck." 0

"Can't you give one more? One to eat and one to wash the wound?" The girl stared eagerly at the bottle in Bai Tang's hand. 0

"One is enough." Bai Tang tossed the medicine bottle back into his backpack. "Antidote Pills are difficult to make, and many of the herbs are hard to find. I don't have many in total." 0

"Oh!" The girl obediently withdrew her gaze, showing no signs of coveting it. Her earlier request for an extra was merely to ensure her companion's safety. 0

"Master, my name is Youfu, and this is Brother Jiang Miaomiao. What about you? What's your name?" The girl took the pure water that Bai Tang had thrown to her, placing the Antidote Pill into the bottle to let it dissolve completely. (To be continued) 0
