As soon as I stepped into the inspection station, an alarm suddenly blared, sharp and piercing. My heart raced—had I been discovered? Looking around, the other couriers seemed oblivious to the commotion, busy navigating between the time portals. 0

"What’s going on?" I whispered to Xiao Shi. 0

"The biological sample in your pocket triggered the security alarm," Xiao Shi replied calmly. 0

I breathed a sigh of relief; it was just a sample that Xiao Zhang had casually placed in my pocket when he asked for it. Thankfully, it wasn't a dangerous item, but my unease didn't dissipate. I had to be cautious and ensure no one uncovered my true intentions. 0

Suddenly, I felt a gaze fixed on me. I turned around but saw no one. 0

While waiting for task assignments, I inadvertently overheard a conversation. "How's the progress on the biotechnology front? If we don't hurry up, the client will get angry. We can't afford to offend them," came the boss's furious voice. 0

"Boss, they said to wait another two days; it should be ready by then. We're already halfway there," another man responded obsequiously. 0

I was taken aback—was this the boss of Time Station? The biotechnology they mentioned—could it be related to the information I held? I decided to stealthily follow them to uncover the truth. 0

I carefully trailed behind them through the corridors of Time Station, eventually arriving at the door of an opulently decorated room. They walked straight in while I hid outside, eavesdropping on their conversation. 0

"The client is getting impatient; we must speed up our progress," the boss's voice revealed a hint of anxiety. 0

"But, boss, is there really no issue with that experiment?" The other man's voice was hesitant. 0

"Don't worry about that; as long as we deliver on time, everything else is secondary," the boss interrupted him. 0

I clenched my fists, filled with anger. They were willing to overlook potential dangers for profit. I had to find a way to stop this. 0

Just then, Xiao Shi suddenly warned me: Danger is coming! 0

The alarm blared again, tightening my chest—had they sensed my actions? I needed to move quickly; time was running out, and I couldn't get caught here. 0

I dashed through the corridors of Time Station, mentally reciting each step of my sabotage plan. I needed to find the data center where all information regarding animal research was stored. Once that data was destroyed, Time Station's dealings with the outside world would suffer a fatal blow. 0

I arrived at the data center's entrance; the access control system flashed red light, indicating that specific permissions were required for entry. Taking a deep breath, I pulled out a small device from my pocket—a dated yet powerful hacking tool I'd brought from the lab. I quickly connected it to the access control system, my heartbeat quickening with each passing second. 0

"What are you doing?" A voice suddenly came from behind me. Turning around, I saw a technician from Time Station. His sharp gaze scrutinized me, an unwelcome intruder. 0

I was startled but tried to maintain my composure: "Oh, I'm... I'm a new courier; they told me I needed to come here for some data samples." I aimed to sound calm and confident. 0

The technician frowned, clearly unsatisfied with my explanation: "I don't remember any such arrangement." His hand subtly moved toward his communicator at his waist, seemingly ready to call for backup at any moment. 0

I had to act quickly and divert his attention. "By the way, what was that alarm about earlier? Is there something wrong?" I pointed toward the far end of the corridor where lights were flashing red with alarms. 0

His focus shifted as he glanced around: "Not sure; it might be a system false alarm." His gaze darted between the alarm and me, hesitating. 0

Seizing the opportunity, I continued: "If you need help, I can investigate why the alarm went off. I'm somewhat familiar with this floor's systems." I deliberately mentioned my knowledge of the systems to bolster my credibility. 0

The technician fell silent for a moment before nodding. "Alright, follow me. Let's go take a look." He gestured for me to leave with him. 0

I secretly breathed a sigh of relief but maintained my composure on the surface. I followed the technician, keeping an eye on my surroundings and looking for an opportunity to escape. 0

As we turned a corner, I suddenly stopped, pretending to tie my shoelaces, and quietly said, "Hold on, my shoelace is loose." The technician didn't suspect anything and continued walking ahead. 0

Seizing the chance, I quickly turned around and slipped into the corner by the entrance of the data center. I only had a few minutes to complete my task. 0

I swiftly took out my hacking tools and got to work. Lines of code scrolled rapidly before my eyes, and finally, the access control system emitted an unlocking sound. 0
