There seems to be a subtle connection between the symbols on the ticket and those on the walls of the carriage, as if they are two parts of the same lock.
Our breaths echoed in the silent carriage, each inhalation feeling like a devout prayer. We were fully focused on those symbols, trying to uncover their true meaning.
“Xiao Yangxia, look at this symbol; it appears both on the ticket and on the carriage wall,” Lu Yuanbai said, pointing to a spiral symbol. “It must symbolize something crucial.”
I followed Lu Yuanbai's gaze; the shape of the symbol resembled a swirling vortex, as if it were narrating the train's endless cycle.
“Could this be the key to the control center?” I couldn't help but speculate.
Lu Yuanbai nodded slightly, his eyes shimmering with a profound light, as if he had already touched the edge of the truth.
“Perhaps we can use this symbol to find the location of the control center,” he said confidently.
So we began to delve deeper into studying the symbols on the carriage wall, attempting to unveil their mysterious veil. Our fingers gently traced those symbols, feeling their textures and shapes, trying to comprehend the meanings contained within.
Time quietly slipped away unnoticed as we became completely immersed in the mysterious world constructed by those symbols, forgetting everything around us.
Suddenly, Lu Yuanbai exclaimed excitedly, “I understand! These symbols are actually a map; they guide us to the exact location of the control center!”
His words were filled with ecstatic emotion, as if we had already found the key to freedom. I immediately moved closer to Lu Yuanbai and looked in the direction he was pointing.
The shapes and arrangements of those symbols indeed resembled a map; they clearly indicated that the control center was located at the other end of the train, while we were currently in the central area of it. To reach the control center, we still needed to traverse several carriages.
We tiptoed in a line with extreme caution towards the end of this train and finally discovered a door covered in peculiar symbols in the last carriage.
The door, resembling a cyclops, was densely etched with strange symbols that closely resembled those we had seen earlier. We couldn't help but speculate that this mysterious door might be a passage to some enigmatic area.
As we slowly approached the door, everyone's nerves were taut like bowstrings, and our heartbeats echoed in this silent carriage, sounding particularly clear. We guessed that there might be unforeseen dangers lurking behind this door.
“Everyone, please be careful and do not touch those symbols!” Lu Yuanbai offered a warm reminder. He vigilantly scanned his surroundings as if ready to fend off any unknown enemies that might suddenly emerge from the darkness.
I nodded vigorously, my heartbeat pounding like a drum, almost making me feel breathless. Just as our fingers were about to touch the door, a strong sense of foreboding suddenly washed over me.
"Lu Yuanbai, wait a moment..." I called out urgently.
However, it was too late; a deep and thunderous roar came from behind the door. Immediately after, a bone-chilling cold wind rushed out, accompanied by a sharp howling sound.
"Be careful!" Lu Yuanbai warned immediately, his voice filled with alertness and tension.
At that moment, my heart skipped a beat, and it felt as if my breath had been frozen.
