I decided to become an interior designer again. I initially gave up my career to take care of Fu Tianming wholeheartedly. But now, I no longer want to sacrifice my dreams for him. I want to restart my career and even plan to open a small studio of my own. I want Fu Tianming to know that I can still live well without him. 0

After making this decision, I felt much lighter. I began searching for a storefront and preparing to open the studio. One day, while I was walking in the nearby streets, planning my future, I suddenly received a call from Fu Tianming. 0

"Where have you been? Why aren't you back yet?" His voice sounded impatient over the phone. 0

I replied calmly, "I'm not coming back." 0

He seemed taken aback. "What do you mean?" 0

"What's with your temper again?" 0

I said calmly, "Fu Tianming, let's get a divorce." 0

"I've already signed the divorce agreement; just sign it and send it back to me." 0

He scoffed, "What nonsense are you talking about?" 0

"Feng Nuannuan, didn't I tell you? I can't divorce you." 0

"What good will these tricks do?" 0

I slightly curled my lips. "I'm not playing tricks; I'm serious." 0

"Fu Tianming, I'm really tired." 0

"I don't blame you; don't feel guilty either. Let's part ways peacefully." 0

After saying that, I hung up the phone. 0

Before long, he called again. I directly rejected the call. A moment later, a text message came in from him. 0

"If you want to play this boring game, go ahead and play it by yourself. I don't have time to entertain you." 0

I smiled faintly. There were no feelings left inside me. 0

Fortunately, Han Zheng soon came over for dinner. His arrival eased the sadness in my heart. Han Zheng comes over almost every day for a meal. He never eats for free; he always brings a bunch of gifts with him. Sometimes it's freshly available durian, sometimes it's exquisite tableware, and once he even bought me a whole set of kitchen supplies. 0

"I can't use them at home anyway; it would be a waste to let them sit around." 0

"Why not just come over for a free meal?" he said with a grin. 0

I couldn't argue with him, so I accepted. 0

That day, he came to help me fix the air conditioner. He stood on a chair, and perhaps his movements were too vigorous, causing his shirt to ride up unintentionally. 0

I unexpectedly caught a glimpse of his abs. The lines were distinct, firm, and attractive. 0

I couldn't help but stare for a moment longer. 0

He noticed my gaze and smirked, "Want to see more?" 0

"I could lift my shirt up for you to have a good look." 0

I was taken aback and quickly waved my hands, "No need." 0

He burst into laughter. 0

I shot him a glare and turned to leave. 0

But for some reason, my face felt a bit hot. 0

That day, I planned to make roast duck for dinner. 0

In the afternoon, I made a special trip to the supermarket to buy a duck. 0

However, as I walked, I suddenly felt something was off. 0

It seemed like someone was following me from behind. 0

I quickened my pace, and the person behind me did the same. 0

I slowed down, and they slowed down too. 0

My heart sank immediately. 0

I didn't dare look back and quickly turned into a nearby hallway. 0

Fortunately, that person didn't follow me in. 0

I let out a sigh of relief and hurried home. 0

Once I got home, I immediately locked the door. 0

Peering through the peephole, I saw no one outside. 0

My heart settled slightly. 0

But I was still very scared. 0

It wasn't until Han Zheng came over for dinner that I relaxed a bit. 0

"I ran into a strange person downstairs today." 0

"They kept following me; luckily, I ran fast." 0

Han Zheng frowned upon hearing this. 0

"Next time you go out, call me to come along." 0

"I'll protect you," he said confidently while patting his chest. 0

I smiled lightly, "It's okay; I'll be careful next time." 0

"Besides, you can't possibly go out with me every day." 0
He blinked and said, "It's not impossible." 0
I was taken aback for a moment. 0
He quickly explained, "What I mean is, I have to pass by your building anyway when I go out." 0
"Why don't we just go out together? It would be nice to have some company." 0
"Right?" 0
He flashed me a brilliant smile. 0
I remained noncommittal. 0
After dinner, Han Zheng went home. 0
Before going to bed, I checked the doors and windows again to make sure everything was securely closed before I went to sleep. 0
In the middle of the night, I groggily got up to drink some water. 0
But as soon as I stepped out of the bedroom, I realized the power was out in the house. 0
It was pitch black all around, with no light at all. 0
I turned on my phone's flashlight and walked toward the door. 0
The living room seemed normal. 0
But just as I reached the door and was about to turn on the light, I suddenly heard a rustling sound from outside. 0
It sounded like someone was trying to open the door. 0
My heart jumped into my throat. 0
How could someone be opening the door? 0
Could it be the person who followed me during the day? 0
I widened my eyes in terror and desperately twisted the doorknob. 0
But the doorknob wouldn't budge at all. 0
Then I heard the sound of a key being inserted into the lock. 0
