Finally, she had resolved a concern, saved her mother, had an honest meeting with her parents, and reached a consensus. This was the happiest moment for Yun Kexin in six years—returning to the Three Courtyard West Garden. All the way there, her eyes were smiling like crescent moons. 0

However, just as she stepped into the courtyard entrance, Yun Kexin's smile froze on her face because she saw Fu Yihang standing at the hall door, looking towards the Western Courtyard. Yun Ran was standing beside him; the two seemed to be waiting for her. 0

How did they arrive so quickly? I thought it would take longer. 0

Never mind, they are here now; it's not a big deal. 0

As she walked closer, Fu Yihang approached with a cheerful expression. Before he could speak, Yun Ran huffed at Yun Kexin: 0

"Seventh Sister, where have you been? Brother Fu and I have been waiting for you for quite a while! Do you know Brother Fu came to the capital early and rushed over to see you?" There was a hint of jealousy in her tone. 0

Why did you wait for me? It's not like I made him wait; you brought this upon yourselves! Yun Kexin thought angrily. 0

"Don't listen to Fifth Sister," Fu Yihang said, gazing intently at Yun Kexin with a warm smile. "Seventh Sister, where did you go to play? Can you tell me about it?" 0

"Nowhere," Yun Kexin replied coldly after glancing at Fu Yihang. "I went to my grandmother's place to copy scriptures earlier and then went to the Second House to play with my cousin." 0

"Seventh Sister, why did you go to the Second House again?" Yun Ran feigned concern for Yun Kexin but seemed to twist her words. "Be careful if Mother finds out—" 0

"So what if Mother finds out?" Yun Kexin blinked in confusion. "I didn't do anything sneaky. If you're worried, just go ask at the Second House tomorrow if they've lost anything." 0

Yun Ran's face showed a mocking expression; it seemed she truly regarded Yun Kexin as a simpleton. 0

"It's okay; I'm here, Aunt won't do anything to you," Fu Yihang said with a smile as he looked at Yun Kexin. "Forget about that; Seventh Sister, I brought you a gift from Fan City. Come inside and take a look." 0

Yun Kexin remained noncommittal and mechanically followed behind him. Upon entering, she found that Yun Yang and Fu Lianyin were also present. Since Fu Yihang had arrived early, it was only right for them to welcome him. 0

"Father, Mother," Yun Kexin approached and took the initiative to mention her trip to Haitang Pavilion and the Second House. "I went to my grandmother's place earlier and then visited my cousin at the Second House for a while before coming back late." 0

"You are more patient with Yun Ke and Yun Yan than anything else; you were gone for several hours," Fu Lianyin said with a frown and stern tone. "Is it really that difficult for you to accompany Eighth Younger Sister in the Third House for a bit?" 0

Who told you that Yun Xiao's mother is such a vicious woman! 0

"Mother, are you angry?" Yun Kexin asked innocently. "Xiner didn't mean not to accompany Eighth Younger Sister; I just lost track of time." 0

"Does that mean I have to personally go to the Second House to invite you next time?" Fu Lianyin's phoenix eyes widened, her tone sharp. 0

Yun Ran watched Yun Kexin getting reprimanded and felt happier than anything else, smiling as she stood by—what fun it was to see her make a fool of herself in front of Brother Fu. Unexpectedly, Fu Yihang interjected abruptly: 0

"Aunt, why can't Seventh Sister go to the Second House?" 0

"It's not that she can't go, but there should be some limits," Fu Lianyin maintained a stern expression. Recently, Yun Kexin had been running to the Second House so often that it made her suspicious and uneasy about what might be happening there. Since she couldn't ask Yun Yang directly, seeing Yun Kexin keep quiet after being gone for such a long time only fueled her anger. "You have time to play with your cousin but not to accompany your own sister? You've even forgotten the time," she emphasized, hinting at something deeper, "Who knows if it's really just playing?" 0

"Madam, don't be like this; children love to play," Yun Yang finally found an opportunity to speak up. "There's no need to get angry over such trivial matters." 0

Fu Lianyin couldn't stand seeing Yun Yang defend Yun Kexin. The more he did so, the more she felt compelled to teach them a lesson: 0

"What kind of behavior is it for a girl to be running around like this?" Fu Lianyin paused, took a deep breath, and turned to Yun Yang. "My dear husband, haven't you noticed that Seventh Young Lady has become harder to manage as she grows up? She seems closer to outsiders than her own family now. And she's even learned how to deceive us..." 0

Yun Kexin raised an eyebrow with a cold smile: Family? Those words didn't even make her blush! Deceiving? That was quite the accusation! 0

"When has Xin'er ever 'deceived' anyone?" Yun Kexin furrowed her brows in confusion, her voice soft yet unyielding. "Please enlighten me, Mother?" 0

"Ever since your father allowed you to visit various houses, look at what you've become," Fu Lianyin was determined to stir up Yun Yang's suspicions. "Every time Father and I ask you what you've done at the Second House, you never mention anything specific—just say 'playing' and brush it off. And," Fu Lianyin paused with a cold smile tugging at her lips, "Seventh Young Lady, why have I never seen you go visit your cousins at the First House? That's strange..." 0

This provocation indeed worked; Yun Yang looked at Yun Kexin with displeasure on his face. 0

"Father, Mother, I assure you it's because my conscience is clear," Yun Kexin said calmly without a trace of panic on her face. "Uncle and Auntie really don't have anything going on; it's just some casual conversation." You wouldn't want me to make things up, would you? If you don't believe me, perhaps you should send someone to follow me in the future," Yun Kexin added with increasing indignation. "Every time I go to the Second House, Uncle and Auntie never ask me about what happens in the Third House or what you do; why do you have to ask me these things?" 0

"No, your father and I are just asking casually," Yun Yang observed Yun Kexin's aggrieved expression as if she were about to cry; she didn't seem like she was lying. He chose not to dwell on the topic but instead said meaningfully, "Seventh Young Lady, Father just wants you to remember one thing: you are a child of the Third House, understand?" 0

"Yes, Father. I will remember," Yun Kexin replied lightly with a smile. 0

"Uncle-in-law, Auntie, I would like to go with Cousin Kexin to the market to buy something; is that alright?" Fu Yihang seized the moment. 0

"What do you want to buy?" Yun Kexin turned and asked. 0

"In three days it's Third Uncle's birthday," Fu Yihang replied with a smile. "I want to buy him a gift but I'm not sure what would be good. I thought as a younger member of the Yun family, my cousin would know best, so I wanted her company." 0

"You can flatter yourself if you want, why drag me into it?" Yun Kexin said with an unhappy expression. 0

Before she could voice her opinion, Yun Ran shouted, "Brother Fu, I want to go with you all too, is that okay?" 0

Fu Yihang frowned, his good mood ruined by Yun Ran. 0

Fu Lianyin wanted Yun Kexin to embarrass herself in front of Yun Yang. Her plan to expose her true self had failed, and feeling frustrated, she heard Fu Yihang's words and immediately smiled, saying, "Alright, let Seventh Young Lady accompany you. By the way, Kexin, remember to buy a portion for yourself too." 0

In her heart, she sneered: Now that my nephew is here, I'll keep her in check and see if she dares to run wild anymore. 0

Seeing Fu Lianyin's expression change faster than flipping a book, Yun Kexin guessed what she was plotting and couldn't help but laugh inwardly. She put on a silly smile and said, "Sure! Kexin hasn't seen Brother Fu for a long time; this is just right." 0

"Seventh Sister, you agreed?" Fu Yihang asked with excitement. 0

Before Yun Kexin could respond, Yun Ran, feeling ignored, rushed in front of Yun Yang and tugged at his hand with a whiny tone, "Father, I want to go with Brother Fu and Seventh Sister too..." 0

"Fifth Young Lady, don't forget what your mother once told you," Fu Lianyin said softly yet chillingly as she raised an eyebrow. 0
