"Eh, Yi Hang, what brings you to Ling Mountain Temple?" Fu Lianyin asked in surprise, though her eyes held a sly approval. "Where are Big Brother and Sister-in-law?" 0

"Father and Mother are visiting at Xiang Wang Mansion," Fu Yihang replied with a smile, lifting his face towards Fu Lianyin. "They told me to wander around first, and this afternoon they will take me to see Uncle and Aunt. I heard there’s a temple fair at Ling Mountain Temple, so I came here, not expecting to run into you." 0

"What a coincidence," Yun Yang said, placing a hand on Fu Yihang's shoulder with a grin. "If you had arrived at the Duke's Mansion this morning, it would have been a wasted trip; we won’t be back until noon... Yi Hang has grown so much! The first time I saw you, you were only two years old, right? That was when Xin'er had just been born." 0

Yun Yang cast a meaningful glance at Yun Kexin and said kindly, "Kexin, come and greet your cousin Fu Yihang... He has been looking forward to meeting you!" 0

Looking forward to meeting me? More like looking forward to my demise! Yun Kexin shot a cold, knife-like glare at Fu Yihang's handsome face. 0

"So she is Cousin Kexin," Fu Yihang said, his round eyes lighting up as he smiled. "I wanted to visit when she turned one, but my parents thought it would be better to wait until Cousin Kexin grew a bit more. Who knew it would take five years?" 0

"Xin'er, quickly greet your cousin! Why are you in a daze?" Fu Lianyin shook Yun Kexin's arm. 0

"Cousin, hello," Yun Kexin forced a smile that was neither warm nor cold. 0

At that moment, members of the Yun family from the First House and Second House, along with the Concubine from the Third House, approached. The first to smile upon seeing Fu Yihang was Dai Chun Ni. 0

"Oh, isn't this my sister's nephew? It's been years since we last met; you've grown into quite the handsome young man. Look at those eyes and that nose," she said before glancing at Yun Kexin with a flattering smile. "You two really do make a perfect pair." 0

Yun Kexin scoffed internally: This flattery is so blatant; isn’t she afraid of getting her tongue twisted? 0

Fu Yihang shyly smiled back and greeted everyone present before turning his gaze back to Fu Lianyin. 0

"Aunt, I found this sachet that just fell from Cousin Kexin," Fu Yihang respectfully handed the sachet to Fu Lianyin. "Could you see if it belongs to her?" 0

Fu Lianyin took it and after just one glance broke into a bright smile. "Yes, this is Xin'er's sachet; I even gifted it to her for her birthday—what a coincidence indeed." 0

Fu Yihang was taken aback. "Aunt, what do you mean by that?" 0

"Yi Hang, do you know what is inside this Sachet?" Fu Lianyin asked with a friendly smile. 0

"I don't know, uncle..." Fu Yihang shook his head in confusion. 0

"Come on, let's go back and reveal this secret," Fu Lianyin said, still wearing a mysterious expression. 0

Yun Yang smiled brightly, Dai Chun Ni had a strange smile, while Yun Ci and Sun Rulan were puzzled. Only Yun You and Yue Ziyun looked vigilant. 0

Yesterday, they received an invitation from Fu Lianyin to bring Sister Xin to participate in the temple fair, to pray for the Yun Clan, and to seek peace for the Seventh Young Lady. They did not expect that Fu Lianyin's nephew would also be here. 0

They never imagined she would mention "fate" in front of so many people. Could it be that everything was premeditated? Yun You frowned slightly, and Yue Ziyun felt a sinking feeling in her heart. 0

Upon returning to the West Garden of the Duke's Mansion, Yun Yang instructed the maid to serve tea to the present Master and lady. Once everything was settled, Fu Lianyin pulled Fu Yihang over and said, "Yi Hang, weren't you asking what is inside this Sachet? Come, open it yourself," then turned to smile at Yun Kexin, who was standing next to Yun Yang, "Kexin, you come over too." 0

Yun Kexin walked over with a silly smile and stood beside Fu Yihang, wondering what was inside the Sachet. However, when Fu Yihang carefully untied the string of the Sachet, opened it, and took out the contents, his eyes widened in surprise: it was actually her Geng Tie! 0

Yun Kexin suddenly realized: this must be what Fu Lianyin referred to as "fate" at the Ling Mountain Temple. The purpose was clear—she intended to use this as an excuse for the Second House to abandon the original "Adopted Condition", interfering with her Marriage. 0

And she was only six years old; did the Third House really want to rush things this much?! Yun Kexin took a deep breath and tightened her grip on her sleeve. 0

"Young Master Fu, Seventh Sister, why aren't you taking it to show your Uncle, Aunt, and also your Second Uncle, and Auntie?" Dai Chun Ni fanned the flames with a smile. 0

At this moment, Fu Yihang did not understand what "Geng Tie" was. He sensed something suspicious about his aunt's enigmatic smile and the urging from the Substitute Concubine, but he still smiled faintly as he took Yun Kexin's hand and walked towards the elders of the Yun Family. 0

Yun Kexin pretended to flick her sleeve to shake off Fu Yihang's hand. The two walked forward one after another, with Fu Yihang handing over the Geng Tie. 0

Both Yun You and Yue Ziyun had already guessed when Fu Yihang took out a folded piece of paper from the Sachet. They felt like their hearts had been pierced: this previously agreed upon "Adopted Condition" had become a done deal. Why was the Third House going back on their word and still clinging to it? 0

It is ridiculous that the Third House would not come forward openly to discuss matters with them, but instead resort to such cunning schemes to plot against the Second House, thinking they wouldn't notice! 0

Yue Ziyun grew increasingly furious, but it was inappropriate to lose her temper in front of everyone, so she could only force a smile and sit there. 0

"Second Brother, Second Sister-in-law, please don't misunderstand," Fu Lianyin explained with a smirk. "That Geng Tie was something I put into the Sachet last night, intending for Kexin to know her birth date. I forgot to take it out afterward, and it ended up being taken by Seventh Young Lady to Ling Mountain Temple. Who would have thought that the Sachet would fall along the way because of its other flaws, and my nephew Fu Yihang picked it up?" 0

"This is precisely fate," Dai Chun Ni timely chimed in with a smile. "Just think about it: why did the Sachet that Seventh Sister accidentally drop end up in Young Master Fu's hands? Even more coincidentally, it contained Sister Xin's Geng Tie! What does this mean? There is an invisible red thread connecting Seventh Sister and Young Master Fu. And now we are here at the temple praying for Seventh Young Lady—what does this signify? Our sincerity has moved the Buddha, and he has manifested his presence, thus bringing these two who have never met together. This is their blessing from their past lives!" 0

Ah, this "blessing" is indeed something they "cultivated" in their previous lives! 0

Yun Kexin coldly observed everything, her brows furrowing and her eyes narrowing. Her heart surged like a flood breaking through a dam, frustrated that she hadn't realized yesterday—surely in her past life, Fu Lianyin and Dai Chun Ni conspired at Ling Mountain Temple to create the illusion of "fated encounters from thousands of miles away." At that time, she was only six years old; how could she understand what a trap was? 0

Believing that the reality was as Dai Chun Ni described—a "predestined bond"—now seemed nothing more than a carefully orchestrated deception. How ironic! Fu Lianyin had deceived her terribly! Fate? It should be called a cursed fate! 0
