Suddenly appearing before him was Chen Shanni, dressed in an award ceremony gown, her smile radiant. One hand rested on the handle of a stylish suitcase, while the other held the door. Qiu Mowen understood that this was Chen Shanni warning him. He gritted his teeth and looked up at her with cold eyes. Chen Shanni met his gaze, and they held each other's stare. Time seemed to freeze; everything became slow. Suddenly, Qiu Mowen chuckled lightly, tinged with bitterness. He loosened his collar and then bent down on one knee in front of Chen Shanni. Taking a deep breath, he placed his hand on his chest, his face pale as if he were about to faint. "Sunny, I'm really sorry for not telling you I was coming to Beijing... I swear it won't happen again! You just..."
Seeing Qiu Mowen so humble made Chen Shanni feel an unprecedented thrill. She took his hand off his chest and gently placed it on her own chest. "Don't worry, darling... I will protect this secret just like you..." She smiled triumphantly, like a queen who had just ascended to the throne.
