"Be careful?" Lan Ran Qingtian was puzzled as he watched Ling Zhu's departing figure, seemingly hinting at something. However, there were only Gu Liu Ma and himself here. Could it be that Ling Zhu was referring to Gu Senior?

"Hahaha!" A strange woman's laughter came from behind her. Xiang Xueer frowned and glanced back, but all around were dense forests with no sign of anyone.
"Hmph!" Xiang Xueer couldn't help but snort coldly. A pungent snake-like odor filled the air; who else could smell so foul at this time? "Serpent Empress, stop playing tricks and show yourself!"
As she spoke, an enchanting figure emerged from behind a rock wall, staring at Xiang Xueer's red eyes with a gloating smile. "Oh dear, welcome to the ranks of demons."
What a provocative remark! Xiang Xueer's red pupils quickly narrowed into slits. "You foul snake, you did this on purpose, didn't you? Hiding nearby to watch the fun and now coming out to mock me? Do you believe I will kill you?"
"Oh my, such a temper! Not even giving old friends face!" The Serpent Empress swayed her hips as she approached slowly, admiring Xiang Xueer's eyes. "I didn't expect you to come out alive from the Luring Demon Pot and even gain powerful magic as a Witch. Congratulations!"
"Congratulations my ass! I don't want this damned power! And stop pretending we're related; I'm not your friend!" After saying this, Xiang Xueer picked up the Azure Wind Sword from the ground and waved it before putting it away, turning to leave.
"Wait!" The Serpent Empress quickly blocked her path. "Don't be in such a hurry to leave; you haven't fulfilled your promise to me yet!"
"My promise to you?" Xiang Xueer stopped in her tracks. She had indeed made a deal with this Serpent Empress before; she helped her obtain the Witch's body while she helped her kill that Masked Man. But now that she had transformed into a demon, that Witch's body was of no use to her at all.
Xiang Xueer revealed a cold smile at the corner of her mouth, "I'm sorry, Serpent Empress, but the Witch's physical body is of no use to me. I won't help you kill that Masked Man."
"I knew you would try to back out!" The Serpent Empress stared at Xiang Xueer, clearly preparing to hold her accountable. She crossed her arms over her chest, "I found the Witch's physical body for you, and now you want to deny it? I didn't expect that after becoming a demon, your temper would be just as vile. It's truly pathetic. I wonder who just said: 'I am human, not a demon.'"
Hearing this from the Serpent Empress made Xiang Xueer's expression darken. If she followed her reasoning, if she didn't help her, she would be no different from that shameless demon. She gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, I'll help you, but we need to find that Masked Man first!"
As soon as the Serpent Empress heard her agree, a smile immediately spread across her face. "Don't worry; I will find him. I'll come back to you then."
With that, she turned around and disappeared in a puff of black smoke. Xiang Xueer turned to look at the vast night and the endless trees. Alone in the dark forest, where was she supposed to go? In an instant, she felt lost and confused.
At the same time, on the Cloud Summit to the west, ancient ice surged forth as the first rays of morning sunlight broke through. The Lizard Spirit sat atop the mountain with Jing Yue's lifeless body in his arms, watching the sun rise once again.
"Jing Yue, look!" The Lizard Spirit looked up at the sky. Unfortunately, the person in his arms had a soulless body that felt as cold as ice. He reached out and touched her cheek. "Don't worry; I will find a way to rescue your soul from the Luring Demon Pot. Even if it costs my life, I'm willing."
Suddenly, a swirl of black smoke moved rapidly across the sky and landed on the peak of Sky Beyond Mountain. The Lizard Spirit was taken aback and cautiously held Jing Yue's body tighter as he turned to look at the person who had suddenly appeared beside him.
The figure appeared to be in his fifties, with distinct facial features and sharp angles. His deep-set eyes glowed with a bloody red hue. He was tall and robust with fluffy silver-gray hair and a pair of black Dragon Horns that stood proudly atop his head. A dragon-headed belt was fastened around his waist, and his silver-gray boots shone brightly. A cape made of two dragon claw bones fluttered in the morning chill, producing a harsh sound.
The man before him could make everyone kneel in worship with just one glance. The Lizard Spirit couldn't help but widen his eyes in disbelief; trembling legs dropped him to his knees. "Demon Lord, you... you have come out!"
The Demon Lord's red pupils constricted rapidly into thin lines as he slowly turned to glare at the kneeling Lizard Spirit. His gaze then fell upon the Witch in his arms; he frowned slightly and shouted, "Lizard Spirit, you are too bold! How dare you see my daughter? It seems you don't take me seriously at all."
Upon hearing this, the Lizard Spirit was instantly horrified and hurriedly began to explain: "Demon Lord, please let me explain! You can punish me however you want later, but right now you must save Jing Yue!"
“Hmm?” The Demon Lord looked at the body of the Witch in her arms. He had just emerged from the Demon Prison Tower and was unaware of what had transpired in the meantime. Previously, the Heart Demon had informed him about matters outside, but now that the Heart Demon was dead, he knew very little about the Witch. He quickly asked, “What exactly happened? Hurry up and tell me!”
After the Lizard Spirit recounted the events to the Demon Lord, his expression darkened instantly. He never expected that within just a few days, things would have spiraled completely out of his control.
He glanced sideways at the Luring Demon Pot beside him, waved his hand, and the Luring Demon Pot obediently came into his grasp. As he turned to leave, he suddenly turned back and glared at the kneeling Lizard Spirit: “Watch over her body. If anything goes wrong, it will cost you your life.”
“Yes!” The Lizard Spirit quickly agreed. By the time he raised his head, the Demon Lord had already vanished. He tightly held onto Jing Yue's corpse, fervently praying that the Demon Lord could bring Jing Yue's soul back.
As dawn broke, Xiang Xueer looked up at the sunrise. She had wandered aimlessly through the forest all night, completely unsure of where to go. Suddenly, she looked down at her feet and stopped in her tracks.
It was a cliff; she didn’t know when she had walked this far. There was no path ahead? Xiang Xueer looked up at the cliff opposite her and closed her eyes to feel the mountain wind blowing from underground, taking a deep breath: indeed, there was no way forward for me anymore.
Hmm? Xiang Xueer furrowed her brows suddenly and quickly turned to look behind her. Strange, she felt something unusual just now but couldn’t find anything.
She turned back and walked toward the opposite side. What was this strange feeling? Xiang Xueer squinted at the bare little hill across from her when suddenly, a tree uprooted from behind and charged toward her rapidly.
What is that? A tree can fly? Xiang Xueer performed a backflip to evade the attack of that massive trunk. The thick Tree Trunk seemed to have eyes of its own as it curved around and came at her again.
