"What is Shirley doing out here at this hour? And Duck is here too." Lian Cheng Xue turned and quickly ran toward the open space.
"Stinky Duck, looking for death!" Witch impatiently reached out and tightly grabbed Duck's neck, lifting him into the air. "Don't make a sound; I'll send you to meet Yama right away!"
Witch didn't want to make too much noise, so she didn't plan to kill this troublesome Duck. Platypus stared at her red eyes filled with Killing Intent, realizing he was doomed. This demon wouldn't hesitate to kill, and she would definitely come after him next. Terrified, he quickly covered his mouth.
"Hmph, at least you know your place," Witch said coldly, preparing to leave when suddenly she heard Lian Cheng Xue's voice behind her: "Shirley, where are you going at this late hour?"
Witch abruptly stopped, standing still without turning around. Lian Cheng Xue looked at her in confusion, noticing that Duck was covering his mouth in terror and shaking his head vigorously.
These two were truly strange—one was silent in the middle of the night, while the other was frantically shaking his head and making faces. Lian Cheng Xue was puzzled when suddenly Duck shouted, "You idiot, why are you just standing there? Run!"
Run? Before Lian Cheng Xue could react, Witch suddenly turned around and stood right in front of him, one hand stabbing into his heart.
Lian Cheng Xue felt a sharp pain and looked down at Xiang Xueer's hand as blood began to spread around him. What was happening? Shirley, why was she doing this?
Slowly raising his head, he was met with her red eyes, which sent him into a panic. This wasn't Xiang Xueer. He fell to his knees. "Who... who are you? Why are you pretending to be Xiang Xueer? Are you a Shapeshifter?"
"Shapeshifter?" A cold smile appeared on Witch's face as she swiftly withdrew her hand from the warm body. "How foolish can you be to know nothing? Poor man!"
Witch slowly crouched down, hooking her finger under his chin. "It seems your beloved woman hasn't told you anything. Since that's the case, I'll let you die knowing the truth."
She leaned closer to Lian Cheng Xue's ear and said with a cold laugh, "I am the Demon Realm Princess, residing within that woman's body. To be precise, we share this flesh together!"
It felt like an explosion went off in Lian Cheng Xue's mind. How could this be? Two souls sharing one body? He grabbed Witch's arm and shouted, "What have you done to Shirley!"
"Oh dear, oh dear, you're about to die; save your strength!" Witch shrugged off Lian Cheng Xue's grip. His heart had already been crushed by her, leaving him gasping on the ground in agony, awaiting only death.
Meanwhile, Duck covered his mouth and began to cry quietly but dared not say anything. If he uttered even a word, he would be the next to die. Witch, disdainfully turning away, lifted Duck by the neck and pointed at her own body. "Your Xiang Xueer will never appear again because I am about to kill her!"
“Ha ha ha! The Demon Lord is about to be born, and the demon realm will once again rule the human world!” The Witch laughed maniacally and turned, disappearing into a cloud of black smoke.
The voice startled Li Yunyang and Lan Ran Qingtian inside the inn. Sensing the powerful demonic energy, they rushed out of their room and saw Lian Cheng Xue lying on the ground. They were shocked and hurried over.
“Lian Xiong, Lian Xiong!” Qingtian helped Lian Cheng Xue up and noticed blood gushing from his chest, staining the ground red. He frowned and asked, “What happened?”
With his last breath, Lian Cheng Xue slowly opened his eyes. Seeing the two of them, he said excitedly, “Shirley, Shirley has been taken by the Witch, and Duck has also been captured. Cough cough!”
“What?” Upon hearing this, Li Yunyang was immediately alarmed and asked, “The Witch captured Shirley? Could it be that damned demon has stolen her body again?”
Lan Ran Qingtian had no idea what they were talking about but heard Lian Cheng Xue muster all his strength to nod: “Hurry and save her; the Witch wants to kill her!”
“Damn Witch!” Li Yunyang glanced at the empty space where she had vanished and prepared to take him to find a doctor with Qingtian: “Don’t talk anymore; we’ll get you a doctor right away!”
Lian Cheng Xue shook his head and grabbed Li Yunyang’s arm: “No need; my meridians are severed. You must promise me that you will save Shirley, or I won’t rest in peace!”
As he spoke, Lian Cheng Xue’s pupils began to dilate slowly, and the hand gripping Li Yunyang’s arm gradually slipped away. In darkness, he left this world with various regrets.
Facing the death of his friend, who was supposed to be introduced to Master Feng Qingyang at Sky Beyond Mountain, he never expected things would turn out like this. He slowly closed his eyes, struggling to accept everything that had happened.
“Lian Xiong!” Tears welled in Lan Ran Qingtian’s eyes as he punched the ground angrily, glaring at Li Yunyang: “Damn it! What’s going on? Tell me now!”

The sting of pain on Li Yunyang’s face was sharp; it was no wonder Qingtian was angry. If it were him, he would feel the same way—his dear friend had died, someone who fought alongside him.
“Go ahead and hit me; do whatever you want if it makes you feel better!” Li Yunyang stood up from the ground, walked in front of Lan Ran Qingtian, tears streaming down his face. At that moment, he felt exactly what Qingtian was feeling.
He lowered his fist, pushed Li Yunyang away, bent down to lift up Lian Cheng Xue, gritting his teeth as he headed toward the inn: “I don’t want to fight you right now. Since we have lost Lian Xiong, we must find Shirley. I have to do this.”
At the same time, the Witch had arrived at the summit of Sky Beyond Mountain. Heart Demon emerged from behind the stone wall and knelt on the ground, saying, "Princess, I have been waiting for you for a long time!"
"Heart Demon, how is the preparation going?" After speaking, the Witch turned her head and asked, "There is only one last seal remaining; do you know where it is?"
Heart Demon stood up and nodded calmly, "Reporting to the princess, the last seal is on me."
"What? On you?" The Witch was somewhat surprised. She did not expect that her father would be so cautious as to transfer the last seal onto Heart Demon.
However, to break the last seal, Heart Demon would have to be killed. The Witch smiled and said, "Heart Demon, you truly are my father's most trusted subordinate."
After saying this, the Witch prepared to take action but was quickly stopped by Heart Demon: "Please remain calm, Princess. There are still some matters that need to be resolved, so Heart Demon cannot die yet!"
"What? Are you afraid, Heart Demon?" The Witch slowly withdrew her hand and stared at Heart Demon's face with confusion. From that eternally expressionless face, it was hard to tell whether there was any fear.
"For the great cause of the Demon Lord, it would be worth it even if Heart Demon dies!" Heart Demon explained further: "I have already contacted Generals Wolf King and Fire Rat. Once they arrive, I can safely break the last seal."
"I see. However, I haven't seen Wolf King and Fire Rat in over a hundred years. I didn't expect you to still be in contact with them!" The Witch sneered: "Heart Demon, you really are the most reliable when it comes to handling matters!"
Years ago, under the command of the Demon Lord were four generals: Heart Demon, Black Dragon, Wolf King, and Fire Rat. After the Demon Lord was sealed away, Heart Demon remained at Sky Beyond Mountain preparing for the Demon Lord's return. Black Dragon left the Demon Lord's side and built an Underground City to live in seclusion. Although Wolf King and Fire Rat had been missing for a long time, they secretly maintained contact with Heart Demon. Once the Demon Lord was reborn, they would reassemble the evil Demon Army and sweep through the human realm.
After hearing everything Heart Demon said, the Witch's red pupils contracted rapidly: "It seems it's time to eliminate that troublesome Xiang Xueer."
