A bird's call echoed in the sky as Lan Ran Qingtian stood atop the mountain. The raging blizzard had finally calmed, revealing the sky, and the red Zhongming Bird appeared on the horizon. A smile finally crept onto his lips.
"Finally arrived! I've been waiting anxiously!" Lan Ran Qingtian saw hope through the darkness. Soon, the Zhongming Bird landed on the mountain peak, and the cold wind whipped Gu Liu Ma's clothes wildly. He leaped off the bird's back, followed closely by Ling Zhu and Platypus.
"You all made it!" Qingtian glanced at Ling Zhu and Platypus, quickly asking, "Gu Senior, is the antidote ready?"
Gu Liu Ma confidently touched the small bottle at his waist. "Don't worry, hurry and take me there!"
"Okay!" Lan Ran Qingtian led the three into the cave. To their surprise, they had united to control Xiang Xueer's toxin spread, which deeply moved everyone present.
"You finally came!" Li Yunyang gasped as he released his grip. Gu Liu Ma stepped forward and shoved the Xiaoyao Pill into Xiang Xueer's mouth. Moments later, she suddenly turned her head and spat out several mouthfuls of black blood, leaving everyone frozen in shock.
Then, Xiang Xueer felt her body gradually warming up. The Witch glanced at her before turning and disappearing. What was this person planning? Even if she fought against herself, she wasn't her opponent; it was unexpected that she would be willing to return her body.
As her vision slowly cleared and warmth returned to her body, the black veins on her face faded away. Xiang Xueer finally opened her eyes and saw the faces of her friends one by one.
Ah, I'm finally alive again. Xiang Xueer sat up, feeling stiff all over and unable to move. No wonder; she had been in a deep sleep for over ten days—anyone would feel abnormal after that.
"Waaah!" Duck cried out with a wide-open mouth upon seeing Xiang Xueer awake. "Sister, I finally see you again!"
"Ouch!" Before Xiang Xueer could react, the Lizard Spirit had already embraced her tightly, excitedly shouting, "Jing Yue, my Jing Yue! It's great that you're okay; I was so worried!"
Xiang Xueer suddenly felt a pang of bitterness in her heart. How could she tell this infatuated man that the person who woke up was not his long-lost lover? Wouldn't that be too cruel?
"Hey, let go of me!" Li Yunyang was furious and stepped forward to pry Lizard Spirit off. "The blizzard has stopped; let's settle this once and for all!"
"Shut up!" Xiang Xueer turned her head and glared at Li Yunyang. Unexpectedly, as soon as she woke up, the first thing she did was scold this idiot. However, it was still very effective; that nonsense-filled guy, Li Yunyang, obediently closed his mouth.
"Mo Ran!" Xiang Xueer vaguely heard the Witch call out the name Lizard Spirit. She stood up and reached out to grab its hand. "Let's go outside; I have something to tell you!"
Lizard Spirit's eyes lit up. He couldn't remember the last time he had heard that name. A happy smile spread across his face. "Great! Jing Yue, I finally get to see you!"
Xiang Xueer pulled him toward the cave entrance. Everyone in the room looked at each other, confused. What was going on? The real name had been unconscious for only a few days, and now Xiang Xueer had turned into Jing Yue?
Li Yunyang stood there in a daze, watching the two people who had already exited the cave. He sat down on the bed and muttered, "It's over; something must have gone wrong. Gu Senior, is there something wrong with your medicine? How could a person change like this?"
Gu Liu Ma quickly shook his head. "That's impossible! The process of making this medicine is very simple. I've been a doctor for many years and have never encountered such a situation. This is too bizarre!"
Qingtian scratched his head. "It can't be! Could it be that Lizard Spirit did something to cause this?"
"Wow! My sister has transformed again!" Duck jumped around anxiously, quickly looking for a place to hide. "Help! Everyone stop gathering; we need to run!"
"What a mess!" Li Yunyang punched the wall in frustration. "What's the use of saying so much? I'm going out to get some answers!"
With that, he followed closely behind Xiang Xueer and Lizard Spirit as they exited the cave. Standing on Cloud Summit after the snowstorm, the air was exceptionally fresh, and dawn was about to break. Xiang Xueer hadn't seen a sunrise in a long time, and she felt quite refreshed.
Lizard Spirit turned his head, his green eyes filled with affection as he looked at Xiang Xueer. Even though her appearance had changed, it couldn't hinder his feelings. "Jing Yue, do you remember the first time we came here to watch the sunrise?"
No wonder Lizard Spirit insisted on bringing her to see the sunrise; it was their place of commitment. Xiang Xueer couldn't help but sigh and turned around to hold his hand. His tall figure had distinct foreign features, especially those green eyes—so sexy and handsome! What a shame he wasn't hers; what a waste.
Xiang Xueer shook her head vigorously as these thoughts popped into her mind again. It was an old habit; whenever she saw a handsome man, she would lose her focus. Now wasn't the time for such thoughts; she needed to figure out how to comfort this wounded man's soul.
"Um, actually, there's something I want to tell you!" Xiang Xueer hesitated, then looked into his smiling eyes and said, "Actually, I'm not your Jing Yue; I am Xiang Xueer!"
The Lizard Spirit's expression suddenly froze. He stared at Xiang Xueer for a long time before bursting into laughter. "Jing Yue, are you okay? What nonsense are you talking about? No one in this world knows my name except for you!"
"This is hard to explain!" Xiang Xueer touched her chest. "That's because there are two souls living in this body: one is me, and the other is Witch Jingyue, so I naturally know!"
The more she spoke, the less he understood. The Lizard Spirit furrowed his brows, and his expression suddenly darkened. "Jing Yue, don't say that. I've been cultivating for over a hundred years just to become strong enough for your Demon Lord to agree to us being together. Please, don't pretend you don't know me, okay?"
As expected, the issue of identity has always been the most direct shackle on relationships. Xiang Xueer also felt pity for the Witch. The Lizard Spirit tightly embraced her. "Jing Yue, I miss you so much. It's been a hundred years; I've thought about you every moment. I love you!"
He slowly pushed her away, his hot breath brushing against her face as his sensual lips gradually moved closer to hers. Oh my god! The handsome man was initiating a kiss; how could he tempt her like this? Xiang Xueer swallowed hard, but unfortunately, she didn't like getting involved with someone else's man; that wasn't her style.
Li Yunyang, hiding behind a rock and eavesdropping, felt confused after hearing their conversation. What was this about a Witch and two souls in one body? What was Xiang Xueer talking about?
He turned his head and saw their lips almost touching. His eyes nearly popped out in shock as he felt a rush of heat and was ready to charge out and knock the Lizard Spirit down for daring to kiss someone behind his back.
Before he could act, Xiang Xueer had already pushed him away. "Don't do that! I'm not Jing Yue; what I just said is true. You'd better believe me."
The Lizard Spirit looked at her with unfamiliar eyes. Indeed, even if her voice had changed and her appearance was different, at least the way she looked at him wasn't like this. His heart suddenly sank as he shook his head vigorously and asked, "Why? Why did you wake up? What about Jing Yue? Shouldn't she be stronger? Doesn't she want to see me?"
At this point, Xiang Xueer wasn't very clear either. However, she was certain of one thing: the Witch was secretly plotting an even bigger conspiracy and simply didn't want this broken shell for now.
