"What? You bastard, give her back to me!" Li Yunyang was finally enraged, and the two streams of Killing Intent ignited the entire cave, skipping the debate phase and starting to fight.
As soon as Lian Cheng Xue entered, she realized that both sides were about to clash. She quickly stood by Li Yunyang's side and asked, "You are the Lizard Spirit, bring Xiang Xueer out!"
"Hmm? Another one trying to take someone away!" The Lizard Spirit's green eyes narrowed into slits, revealing a cold glint: "Anyone who dares to take my Jing Yue will die!"
Just as both sides were about to engage, Qingtian rushed in and positioned himself between them: "Alright, stop fighting. It's more important to save Shirley first. After that, you can fight however you want!"
The hand that was about to strike finally lowered. Qingtian's words made sense; the most urgent matter was waiting for Gu Liu Ma's antidote. With lives hanging in the balance, these guys still had the energy to fight—it was truly frustrating.
Lan Ran Qingtian rubbed his temples; outside, the wind had begun to pick up, and a blizzard was about to hit. There was no way to go out now; they could only wait for the storm to pass.
"Finally, someone came out to mediate!" Xiang Xueer sat on the ground in confusion. It seemed they had returned safely from Underground City, which was great news. She couldn't help but feel a weight lift off her shoulders.
Just as her heart settled, the noise outside started again. Li Yunyang's eyes nearly bulged out as he pointed at the Lizard Spirit, who was tightly holding onto Xiang Xueer without letting go. He shouted angrily, "How long are you planning to hold her? Let go of her now!"
"It has nothing to do with you!" The Lizard Spirit turned away dismissively, reaching out to touch Xiang Xueer's cold cheek while murmuring, "Jing Yue, your body is so cold; let me warm you up!"
Warm? Li Yunyang gaped at the guy unbuckling his belt and immediately exploded with rage: "What do you think you're doing, you shameless old pervert? If you dare to take off any more clothes, I'll knock your teeth out!"
"Hey, stop it, Brother Li!" Lian Cheng Xue quickly hugged him as he tried to rush over and turned her head toward Qingtian. "Qingtian, hurry up and help! Don't let that guy touch Shirley!"
"Who are you calling shameless? Damn human! If you have the guts, say it again!" The Lizard Spirit shot a cold glare: "You lowly humans are not allowed to lay your filthy hands on my princess!"
Qingtian turned his head with a thud and faced the wall while waving his hands repeatedly: "Ugh, I don't care anymore; do whatever you want!"
"A bunch of idiots!" Xiang Xueer could hear their bickering but felt helpless to retaliate; otherwise, she would have kicked them all in the rear by now.
Standing aside, Witch Jingyue appeared again, her eyes filled with deep memories. Xiang Xueer glanced at her and cradled her head in her hands: "It seems he really has deep feelings for you!"
The Witch was interrupted from her thoughts and shot a sideways glance at Xiang Xueer before turning away and muttering: "Moruan is such an idiot; if I had known earlier, I would have cut off his hopes long ago to spare myself a hundred years of heartache."
The blizzard continued to blow, the swirling white snow resembling a giant beast with its claws outstretched, while the battle for dominance within the cave showed no signs of stopping.
In the evening, Ling Zhu and Platypus returned to the inn ahead of schedule. What was originally a two-day journey had taken them only one day. As soon as they entered, Platypus shouted, "Sister, sister, we’re back!"
"Eh?" Upon pushing the door open and stepping inside, they found the room empty, desolate. Platypus was taken aback and began to frantically search the floor, exclaiming, "Sister, sister, where have you hidden?"
Ling Zhu frowned at Duck, who was on the ground flipping through the bed sheets with its rear in the air. Annoyed, she kicked Duck lightly and said, "You idiot, how could anyone be found in this place?"
Duck sat on the floor and began to sob again, "Sister, my dear sister, you died so tragically!"
"Shut up!" Ling Zhu snapped as she scanned the room. She looked down at the cracked floorboards and the broken blood curse barrier; it seemed someone had attacked. "Could it be that Qingtian and the others haven't returned yet?"
"They came back before you!" A deep voice emerged from the darkness of the room. Ling Zhu and Platypus turned to see a figure slowly stepping out—it was Gu Liu Ma.
"It’s you?" Ling Zhu immediately became alert and asked again, "Since you’re back, why haven’t we seen anyone? Where is Xiang Xueer?"
Duck quickly wiped its face of snot and tears and tugged at Gu Liu Ma's clothing insistently, "Yes, yes! Where is my sister?"
"Don't rush, don't rush! Let me explain everything slowly!" Gu Liu Ma said calmly as he sat down beside them and began recounting what had happened over the past few days. Duck and Ling Zhu struggled to process it all.
"The situation is so confusing!" Duck exclaimed as it slapped its head. There was no time to dwell on that; saving Xiang Xueer was their top priority. It took the bag containing the Thousand-Year Ganoderma from Ling Zhu's hands.
Turning around, Duck handed it to Gu Liu Ma and urged, "What are you sitting here for? Hurry up and prepare the medicine! This is the spirit mushroom I went through great lengths to find; I nearly lost my life for it!"
Thinking back to that black widow made Duck shudder. Ling Zhu scolded lightly, "Stinky Duck, you didn’t do anything; don’t flatter yourself!"
Gu Liu Ma held Gentian in one hand and Thousand-Year Ganoderma in the other as he headed toward the kitchen of the inn. Ling Zhu crossed her arms skeptically and said, "I just feel something is off about this Gu Liu Ma."
"Yeah, that's right!" Duck nodded repeatedly after hearing this. "Just look at his beard; it's really ugly!"
"I am not talking about the beard!" Ling Zhu kicked Duck's backside with her foot and said, "Go, check the kitchen. What if he poisoned the antidote?"
"Ah?" Platypus covered his backside and turned around to shout, "Stop worrying about that! If he had poisoned it, he wouldn't have stayed to save my sister. Don't assume everyone is like you!"
"What did you say?" Ling Zhu's expression immediately darkened as she turned to glare at him fiercely. "You Stinky Duck, if I hadn't rescued that Black Widow back then, you would still be soaking in that water. What, do you want to take a bath in the Luring Demon Pot?"
Upon hearing this, Platypus shook his head vigorously with a darkened face and turned to run towards the door. "I didn't say anything! I'm going to keep an eye on him in the kitchen."
Hmph! The ancients were right; only women and petty people are hard to deal with. As Platypus muttered to himself while walking, he hadn't even reached the door when Gu Liu Ma came out of the kitchen holding two pills.
Duck bumped into his thigh and exclaimed while covering his nose, "Did you poison it? No, wait, have you finished preparing the medicine?"
Oh no, almost let it slip! Seeing that Gu Liu Ma didn't seem to care too much, he finally breathed a sigh of relief as Gu Liu Ma placed the two black pills into a small bottle. "It's done, don't worry!"
Just then, a bird's call came from outside the inn. A smile appeared on Gu Liu Ma's face as he turned to walk outside. Sure enough, the Zhongming Bird had returned. He reached out to stroke its feathers and said, "Looks like I need your help again!"
With that, the three of them climbed onto the back of the Zhongming Bird and quickly flew towards Tianshan. If all went well, they expected to arrive by nightfall.
Meanwhile, in the cave where Li Yunyang and the others were hiding, what could be called a 'war' broke out!
Li Yunyang endured and endured but finally couldn't hold back any longer. He turned to glare at the Lizard Spirit and shouted while pointing at his arm, "Are you done yet? Hurry up and let Shirley go!"
