When the woman smiled, Ling Zhu immediately felt goosebumps all over her body. This kind of seductive charm was bone-deep; she could tell just by thinking with her toes that she was facing the Black Widow.
She glanced sideways at the cave entrance, which was dark and deep. It was truly troublesome to be involved with such an annoying Demon. She couldn't rely on that shameless Duck; it seemed today would be a day of misfortune!
The Black Widow narrowed her blue phoenix eyes and said with a smile, "I say, the person in front of me, what are you looking at?" Ling Zhu frowned and struggled a bit; the spider silk was too tight. She didn't know if her Vine could penetrate it. No, she had to buy some time. So she threw a flirtatious glance and chuckled, "What can I look at? With such a beautiful woman in front of me, of course, I'm looking at you."
"Ahahaha!" The Black Widow burst into laughter, her entire body relaxing as she raised her chin and laughed heartily, "Oh! You sly man really knows how to talk. That sweet mouth is like honey; you've probably fooled quite a few innocent girls, haven't you?" After saying this, she stood up and began to take off her outer garment, revealing her sexy shoulders. She swayed her body and walked over slowly, exuding charm as she said, "They say a moment in spring is worth a thousand gold pieces; since we have mutual feelings, let’s not say too much."
Ling Zhu's eyes twitched at this rapid development. Was this really happening? Were they going to consummate right here? No way! There wasn't enough time; unable to break free from the spider silk, she swallowed hard and shouted in panic, "Stop!"
"Stop?" The Black Widow looked at Ling Zhu in confusion, her lips curling up. "I can't believe you're asking me to stop at a time like this?"
There was no time left. Ling Zhu was tightly wrapped in silk and unable to move, but survival came first. She had no choice but to smile awkwardly and reveal the truth: "Sorry, beautiful, but... I'm a woman."
A woman? The Black Widow squinted her eyes and stepped forward to sniff Ling Zhu closely. Her expression changed dramatically as she shouted, "You're not human? Who are you? How dare you deceive me? I'll eat you alive!"
In an instant, the beautiful woman transformed into a large black spider. Her entire body was black with long hairy legs. She opened her mouth full of fangs, ready to swallow her prey whole.
At this critical moment of danger, Duck was still hesitating outside the dark cave entrance, pacing back and forth: "Damn it! What should I do? I'm terrified of poison! Should I go save that woman or not?"
Sweating profusely, it muttered to itself: "She saved me earlier; if I just stand by and do nothing, wouldn't that be immoral? If my sister finds out later, she'll definitely look down on me. Ugh! What a hassle! I'm no match for that spider; what should I do?"
Platypus felt two voices arguing in its head. It scratched its head vigorously and decided to rush in first to check the situation; if things got too dangerous, it would run away.
"Haha!" Inside the cave, the Black Widow laughed maniacally as a stream of yellow liquid sprayed from her tail onto Ling Zhu's white silk wrapping. She laughed uncontrollably: "I'll turn you into water first before enjoying you slowly."
Ling Zhu struggled desperately to break free from the spider silk. Just when she was about to succeed, the wrapping silk began to dissolve; soon her clothes would start corroding too. If this continued, her body would be turned into a puddle of goo.
Just then, a familiar figure rushed in with a leap, holding a tree branch while closing its eyes and pointing forward as it shouted: "Die, spider! Where do you think you're running? I'm here to deal with you!"
Ling Zhu turned her head in shock; it was that idiot Duck! No way! Was this guy really coming in to save her? What an unexpected turn of events!
"Roar!" The Black Widow growled at Duck who suddenly appeared before her: "Where did this little bug come from? How dare you make noise in front of me?"
The yellow liquid splattered everywhere, landing in front of Platypus with a sizzling, corrosive sound. Startled, it opened its eyes and looked up at the towering black spider, causing its legs to go weak and sit down on the ground.
"Oh my! Help... help me!" Platypus turned to flee, but its legs wouldn't cooperate, forcing it to crawl desperately on the ground while mumbling, "Ling Zhu, I'm sorry, I can't save you!"
This fool, more of a hindrance than a help, Ling Zhu glared at it in disbelief. However, its commotion drew the black widow's attention to Platypus. Seizing the opportunity, she gathered her strength and pushed against the webbing, gradually loosening it.
"Ah!" she shouted angrily as the vines from her sleeve began to search for gaps and emerged one by one. Soon, she freed herself from the bindings. With a swift turn, the vines flew toward the black widow and quickly ensnared it tightly.
"Run!" Ling Zhu felt a gust of wind at her feet as she picked up Duck, who was lying on the ground, and dashed out of the cave. The black widow fell over, staring at the vines on its body and shouted, "You little pests, when I get out of here, I'll make you pay!"
Time was running out; sooner or later, the black widow would break free from the vines. Ling Zhu hurriedly ascended Bai Ling Mountain with Platypus and finally shook off the watchdog at the foot of the mountain.
"Wow, that scared me to death!" Duck plopped down on the ground, clutching its racing heart. Ling Zhu shook her head at its pitiful appearance and then kicked its rear end lightly: "Thanks for coming to save me, even though your performance was still useless!"
"What do you mean kicking my butt? Is this how you treat your savior?" Duck glared at Ling Zhu with an annoyed expression. "If I hadn't come to save you, you'd have been spider breakfast by now!"
This guy was getting more spirited with every word; a little sunshine made him bloom, and a little color made him act like a big shot. Claiming to be a savior? Forget it; there were more important matters at hand, so she didn't want to waste time arguing with this brainless fellow.
She turned her head to gaze up at the towering Lark Mountain. In the wide forest, she could hear the chirping of birds; everything seemed so peaceful and harmonious—truly an outdoor paradise.
With seven days left, only five remained. After accounting for two days for the return trip, they had just three days to search for Thousand-Year Ganoderma. By now, Li Yunyang and his group should be preparing to enter Underground City as well.
At that moment, on a clearing by the waterfall, Lian Cheng Xue emerged from the water with her upper body bare. Looking up at the sky, she put on her clothes and said, "It's time; we should head into Underground City!"
“Exorcism Essence: Azure Dragon Raging Wind Slash!” As the water splashed away, Li Yunyang gasped for breath as he sheathed the Azure Dragon Sword. The two men exchanged a glance and walked towards the inn.
Qingtian sat cross-legged in a room inside the inn. He slowly opened his eyes, turned his head to take a look, stood up, and pushed open the window to see the sky gradually brightening outside. “It’s about time to set up a barrier for Shirley!”
He quickly formed hand seals, then bit his finger and let the blood drip onto the ground, shouting, “Summoning!”
Inside the room, two white tigers suddenly appeared from the mist. He reached out and stroked one of the white tiger's heads. “Old friends, Shirley is now in your care!”
After saying this, Qingtian picked up a teacup from the table, then sliced his wrist to let blood drip into the cup. He used a brush dipped in blood to draw a circle around Shirley’s bed, enclosing her within it.
Next, he drew a pentagram shape outside the circle, writing symbols at each point. The barrier was now complete; the blood on the ground began to emit a red glow. Qingtian pressed his hands down on his index fingers and said, “Blood Protection Spell activated!”
