"I already know!" The Heart Demon turned around, its eyes fixed on Lian Cheng Xue and Li Yunyang, who were diligently practicing their swordsmanship. "Things are progressing step by step according to the planned direction. You don't need to worry; just go to Bai Ling Mountain with peace of mind."
After saying that, it immediately disappeared into the Ruined Temple. Ling Zhu was filled with doubt: "A plan? What exactly is this plan? What is the Heart Demon up to?"
Meanwhile, the Platypus had already started packing its belongings, preparing to set off for Bai Ling Mountain. Upon seeing Ling Zhu return, it called out, "Hey, hurry up and pack! We're leaving soon!"
If it weren't for that damned Heart Demon making me obedient, I wouldn't want to follow this Stinky Duck to Bai Ling Mountain. The two set off together towards Bai Ling Mountain, which was about two or three hundred miles west from where they currently were. Even if they traveled day and night, it would take at least two days to reach their destination.
Ling Zhu changed into male attire and left with the Duck. Lian Cheng Xue and Li Yunyang continued practicing their swordsmanship outside and hardly returned to the inn, while Gu Liu Ma spent every day cooped up in the inn's room, seemingly researching some herbs.
In the entire room, only Qingtian and Xiang Xueer were present. He slowly sat by the bed, looking at her tightly closed eyes, and couldn't help but recall the scene of their first meeting, smiling as a grin appeared on his face.
He gently took Xiang Xueer's cold little hand. "Shirley, don't worry; I will definitely save you, even if it costs me my life!"
At that moment, in another world within the Underground City, a furious roar erupted from a black ancient castle: "Damn Witch, I will kill you!"
The Black Dragon Saint Lord lay sprawled on the bed, his stomach pierced and a large hole in his spine. Even if it didn't cost him his life, it was enough to keep him awake in pain all night.
The Cat Demon stood nearby, irritatingly tapping its ears and advising, "Boss, you've been cursing for several days now; you should really get some rest!"
"Hmph!" The Black Dragon slowly closed his eyes, veins bulging on his forehead. "I have already avoided the mortal world and just wanted to live peacefully in the Underground City. I never expected that this Demon Lord would still not let me go!"
It is said that a hundred years ago, the Demon Lord was ambitious; not only did he rule the demon realm but also sought to conquer the human world. Thus began a brutal battle with the Exorcists. In the end, Cold Autumn Rain sealed the Demon Lord deep within the 999th level of the Demon Prison Tower. In an instant, when the tree fell, the monkeys scattered—his followers among all demons fled in panic. Even his general, the Black Dragon, abandoned him to establish himself in a quiet place and live a secluded life.
"Could it be that this Demon Lord harbors resentment towards him, which is why the Witch has come to kill me?" The Black Dragon Saint Lord was taken aback and smashed Zhuo Head with a punch. "Cat Demon, instruct all the monsters in Moon City to be on high alert and post wanted notices throughout the city!"
"Yes!" The Cat Demon replied and slowly retreated from the room. Inside, the Black Dragon's gloomy expression instantly chilled the atmosphere to freezing point. "Hmph! Little girl, if you have the ability, come at me! I, the Black Dragon, am not afraid of you!"
The Black Ancient Tower was surrounded by scattered bats as a figure quickly crossed the broken rope bridge and stood before the Thorns. "Demon Lord, everything is proceeding according to our plan. It seems you will soon be able to escape from the Demon Prison Tower!"
A pair of Red Eyes opened, accompanied by a chilling smile. "Heart Demon, thanks to you, once I am out, I will definitely reclaim the demon realm and annihilate that group of Exorcists."
"The rebirth of the Demon Lord is just around the corner!" The Heart Demon displayed an excited expression. In this dark otherworld, where conspiracies lurked everywhere, what kind of hell would Xiang Xueer be pushed into by the torrent?
On the morning two days later, Platypus and Ling Zhu finally arrived at the foot of Bai Ling Mountain. The mist-shrouded fairy mountain towered into the clouds, home to various celestial herbs and demon beasts.
A Woodcutter approached as he saw two people standing at the foot of the mountain. He hurried over and said, "Hey, you two young men, don't wander around here. You should leave quickly; be careful of the Black Widow!"
"Black Widow?" What is that? Duck scratched his head in confusion while looking at the Woodcutter. He quickly explained, "Bai Ling Mountain is also known as Fairy Mountain. A hundred years ago, people liked to go up there to gather herbs and chop wood. But for some reason, this foot of the mountain has been claimed by the Black Widow, and since then no one has dared to go up!"
"Black Widow?" Ling Zhu squinted her eyes. "The Black Widow is a type of spider that usually eats its mate after mating; that's why it's called a Black Widow?"
"Spider?" Platypus swallowed hard. After finally finding Bai Ling Mountain, he didn't expect to be blocked by a vicious spider. He shouted angrily, "What a joke! To save my big sister, whether it's a Black Widow or a White Widow, they all have to get out of my way."
Just then, a cold breeze blew from the rocky mountain across from them. The Woodcutter shivered in fright and quickly hoisted his firewood and turned to leave. "I won't bother with you anymore; I'm leaving!"
Ling Zhu glanced sideways at the rocky mountain and noticed that the wind carried a hint of demonic energy. It seemed that what the Woodcutter said was not unfounded; there truly were demons lurking at the foot of this mountain.
Duck felt a bit scared inside. In order to appear calm in front of Ling Zhu, she shouldered her burden and walked briskly towards Lark Mountain, muttering to herself, "What’s there to be afraid of? I’m not scared of that Black Widow at all!"
After just a few steps, Platypus suddenly felt something was off; she couldn't move her feet. Looking down in a sweat, she saw a strand of spider silk shooting out from a hole, wrapping her tightly from head to toe. With a thud, it pulled her towards the rocky mountain on the opposite side. "Wow, help!" Duck shouted anxiously, twisting her body with all her might. This idiot, Ling Zhu cursed inwardly and reached out to snap the spider silk off her. She grabbed Duck and quickly prepared to leave.
However, suddenly a swarm of small spiders rushed out from the cave below the rock, surrounding them completely and trapping them. The little spiders wrapped around Ling Zhu, and in no time, she was tightly ensnared. She intended to break free, but the swarm of small spiders bared their fangs, their red eyes glaring at her. If she dared to resist again, they would bite her in an instant.
"Damn it!" Ling Zhu cursed under her breath and quickly swung Platypus aside. But she herself was dragged into the dark cave, barely managing to poke her head out from the silk and shout, "Black Widow, let me go!"
Platypus lay on the ground, nearly smashing her backside as she fell. By the time she got up, Ling Zhu had already been pulled into the cave. Sitting on the ground with her mouth agape in shock, she was terrified and thought, "No way! Did she actually save me?"
In the pitch blackness, two blue lights suddenly appeared. In the blink of an eye, candles on the walls lit up. The bright light blinded Ling Zhu, and after a while, when she could finally see clearly, she found a stunningly beautiful woman sitting on a Stone Bed. The woman leaned sideways against the white silken drapes covering the Stone Bed, her lips crimson as if stained with blood, and her blue eyes looked particularly sinister.
She stared at the tightly wrapped Ling Zhu for a long time before licking her lips with her tongue, displaying an expression that suggested she found it quite appetizing. With an alluring smile and her fingers delicately placed by her mouth, she said, "Oh! What a handsome young man!"
