"Damn girl, how dare you twist my words!" The Witch's eyes twitched, and she quickly understood. She turned her gaze to Xiang Xueer, her expression darkening instantly. "I still have to thank you for your help along the way; otherwise, it wouldn't have gone so smoothly!"
"Hahaha!" The Witch laughed loudly, then suddenly vanished in a swirl of black wind. Xiang Xueer stood there, her mind in a bit of chaos. "What does that mean? Why should I be thanked? What did I even do?"
"Big sister, big sister!" Platypus stared at Xiang Xueer, eyes tightly shut and rambling incoherently, causing him to break into a cold sweat. "It's over, it's over! She's already talking nonsense. Where is that Li Yunyang? Why hasn't he come back yet?"
"What happened?" Just then, Ling Zhu pushed the door open, covered in dust and wounds from her recent battle. She stepped forward to take a look, noticing that the Miasma around them seemed to be spreading again.
Seeing this, Ling Zhu quickly took out a cup, cut her wrist, and fed her blood to Xiang Xueer. Only then did her complexion improve somewhat; she lay quietly without saying anything nonsensical anymore.
Seeing that she was okay, Platypus finally breathed a sigh of relief and looked up at Ling Zhu's pale face. "Hey, are you alright?"
"I'm fine! Just need to rest for a bit!" Ling Zhu turned around and sat down on the ground to meditate. She had internal injuries from being struck by the Serpent Empress and needed proper recovery. She hoped nothing else would happen; she had no extra energy left for fighting.
"Hey, what kind of monster are you?" Platypus leaned closer to her, sniffing around curiously. "Strange, there's not a hint of demonic aura. That can't be right!"
After a moment, Ling Zhu opened her eyes and glared at Duck with an annoyed expression. "You stupid Duck, I'm not a Demon."
"If you're not a Demon, then what are you?" Platypus pressed on, staring at her intently. After all, her blood had stabilized Big Sister's condition significantly; this woman was very suspicious.
That damn Duck must have discovered her identity. It seemed she couldn't let it live. A glint of Killing Intent flashed in Ling Zhu's eyes as the Vines in her sleeves began to extend gradually.
Suddenly, another cold demonic aura filled the air. Ling Zhu quickly sprang up from the ground and scanned the surroundings with her eyes darting back and forth.
Platypus pouted at her strange expression and asked, "I'm talking to you, you bad woman."
"Shut up!" Ling Zhu finally couldn't hold back any longer and flung Platypus onto Xiang Xueer's bed, cursing under her breath, "Damn it! The wound isn't healed yet, and that damned snake demon is chasing us again!"
"Serpent Empress?" Duck shuddered in fear, "No way, how could this guy come back? What should we do? What should we do?"
Platypus anxiously paced back and forth, while Ling Zhu was the one who truly had a headache: "This is troublesome. The master should have already left, and I can't handle that Serpent Empress alone."
Before they could react, there was a loud crash as the window shattered, and the massive head of the Serpent Empress slithered in, baring her fangs at Xiang Xueer on the bed: "Dead Girl, we meet again!"
"Wow!" Platypus trembled, shaking his head vigorously while holding Xiang Xueer, "You! Didn't you leave? How dare you come back!"
"Hehehe!" The Serpent Empress sneered, "That meddlesome Heart Demon is gone. Let's see who will help you this time!"
"Damn it!" Ling Zhu cursed under her breath. Quickly, she extended a vine from her sleeve and wrapped it around the Serpent Empress's neck, desperately pulling on her head. Then she turned to Platypus and shouted, "Get her out of here!"
"Ah, ah!" Seeing this, Platypus hurriedly grabbed Xiang Xueer and dashed outside. He glanced back at the stylish Ling Zhu and called out, "Ling Zhu, hold on!"
"Child's play!" The Serpent Empress dismissed Ling Zhu's efforts and performed a swift tail sweep, breaking the vine with ease. Ling Zhu fell to the ground with a thud, clutching her chest. With new injuries added to old ones, she struggled to get up and leaned against the wall to follow them.
Platypus ran with Xiang Xueer in his arms. However, just by sensing their presence, the Serpent Empress was able to follow closely behind. Spotting a Ruined Temple ahead, he quickly dragged her inside and hid behind a dilapidated Statue of Buddha.
Duck followed closely behind, covering his mouth in fear that their breathing would give them away: "What are we going to do now? Is today really our last day?"
"You little pests! Do you think hiding will make me unable to find you?" The Serpent Empress's red eyes scanned the surroundings before landing on the crumbling Ruined Temple.
With a cold laugh, she opened her mouth and unleashed a stream of black energy towards the roof of the Ruined Temple. With a series of crashing sounds, a fierce wind blew through, instantly tearing apart the roof and walls of the temple. The two hiding behind the Statue of Buddha were immediately exposed.
The Serpent Empress easily found them. Platypus looked up at her drooling fangs and began to cry loudly, shaking Xiang Xueer: "Sister, please wake up!"
"Go ahead and cry! Cry loudly! With Heart Demon gone, who will help you now? Witch, your luck won't always be this good!" The Serpent Empress sneered arrogantly as she opened her mouth to prepare to swallow both of them whole.
Following closely behind, Ling Zhu, who was seriously injured, ran a few steps but couldn't catch up. Just when she thought everything was hopeless, the situation changed once again.
From the rocky cliff opposite, a black object flew swiftly towards the Serpent Empress, and with a swoosh, it wrapped around her neck. With a loud thud, the massive Serpent Empress was knocked to the ground by the force.
Lying on the ground with her neck tightly constricted, the Serpent Empress looked up at the cliff and roared, "Who dares? Show yourself!"
The ground began to shake as a monstrous figure dropped from the cliff. Duck focused his gaze and saw a giant lizard whose tongue was tightly wrapped around the Serpent Empress's neck. With a flick of its tail, it struck her hard, causing her to scream in pain.
"Lizard Spirit?" Ling Zhu stared in shock at the sudden chaos. Could it be one of her master's subordinates? That couldn't be; she should have seen it before if that were the case.
"You snake demon, how dare you touch my Jing Yue! I will kill you!" The lizard suddenly spoke in a deep male voice. It released its tongue and flung the Serpent Empress into the air, tossing her far away.
A large number of trees in the forest instantly fell down. The Serpent Empress roared as she flipped over and charged back at the Lizard Spirit. The two were roughly equal in size and strength, which only enraged the Serpent Empress further as she shouted, "Damn lizard! Who are you to block my benefits?"
"As long as I'm here, you won't lay a finger on her!" The Lizard Spirit immediately positioned itself in front of Xiang Xueer and Platypus. After both sides battled for some time, the surrounding forest was nearly destroyed. As dawn approached, the Serpent Empress cursed angrily, "Damn it! A Cheng Yaojin appears out of nowhere! If I can't kill this Dead Girl today, I'll be in trouble later!"
Finally realizing she wasn't going to gain anything from this fight, the Serpent Empress turned and transformed into a whirlwind of blackness as she fled. Ling Zhu had been observing from the side for a while; this creature's power was not inferior to that of the Serpent Empress. What exactly was its origin?
Platypus hid behind the Statue of Buddha, revealing only its eyes. After watching the escaping Serpent Empress, it finally sighed, "Oh my goodness! This whole night has nearly exhausted me!"
Just as it began to relax with the departure of the Serpent Empress, there was still the Lizard Spirit. It turned around and transformed into a human form, slowly walking towards Xiang Xueer.
