She cursed under her breath and punched the stone wall in frustration before turning to walk deeper into the cave. "Hmph!" The reappearance of the Masked Man truly sent chills down her spine. This guy held her Snake Gallbladder in his hands; if she didn't comply with him even slightly, the consequences would be dire.
"Serpent Empress, it seems you have forgotten the task I assigned to you!" The Masked Man turned around, his cold eyes glaring through the jagged mask. He extended his hand, and the Snake Gallbladder immediately reappeared in his grasp.
"Ah!" The Serpent Empress let out a cry, writhing in pain as the Snake Gallbladder was tightly squeezed. She broke into a cold sweat and exclaimed, "Master, I-I already went to assassinate the Witch, but that damned Heart Demon blocked my way!"
"Heart Demon?" The man narrowed his eyes, studying the Serpent Empress's face as if trying to discern any hint of deceit. If she told even one lie, he could easily end her life.
The Heart Demon was the most capable general under the Demon Lord. The man slowly released his grip on the Snake Gallbladder, stepped forward, and lifted the Serpent Empress's chin with one hand, a ghostly smile on his lips. "You better put in some effort, Serpent Empress. If I see that woman named Xiang Xueer alive in this world before dawn tomorrow, I will immediately end your life. You better listen carefully; this is your last chance!"
"Yes, yes!" The Serpent Empress dared not utter a word of defiance and nodded vigorously. Once the proud master of the dark Cavern, she now found herself in such a desperate situation.
A gust of black wind swept by, and the Masked Man vanished. The expression on the Serpent Empress's face twisted in agony as she frantically pounded the ground. "That Witch, that damned Witch, everything today is because of you! I will definitely kill you."
Meanwhile, Platypus, who had finally managed to move Xiang Xueer to another inn, was nearly exhausted. He plopped down on the ground and turned to look at the sleeping Xiang Xueer. "You can see?" The Witch looked at Xiang Xueer in surprise. She had intended to extract information from her but didn't expect this woman to actually believe it.
"Since you can see, then I have nothing to hide. Killing you would be easy; keeping you alive might still be useful!" The Witch sneered a few times, finally losing interest in entangling with Xiang Xueer. "The Nine Seals have already been broken seven times; only two remain. Once my father breaks the curse of the Demon Prison Tower, the three realms will once again fall into our hands."
