Her previous memories began to resurface. She clearly remembered the deal with the Witch; her body was hers now, and she should have obtained the Serpent Empress's Snake Gallbladder as well. She gasped and turned to look at Li Yunyang not far away. Great, he was fine, everything had been resolved.
"Dead Girl!" Li Yunyang wrinkled his nose as he caught her scent in the air. Turning around, he immediately spotted Xiang Xueer across from him and shouted as he ran toward her.
"Oh no, I've been discovered!" Xiang Xueer covered her face and tried to escape. She didn't want anyone to know that she had cowardly made a deal and turned into a monster.
Li Yunyang dashed through the woods and saw Xiang Xueer turning to flee. Anxious, he rushed over and tackled her to the ground. "Hey, why are you running? It's me! Look at me... I'm fine!"
"No, don't look at me!" Xiang Xueer desperately covered her face. Li Yunyang, confused, pulled her hands away and stared at her face, looking left and right for a long time. "What's wrong? Why are you covering your face? Do you really not want to see me?"
"Huh?" Xiang Xueer gasped as she looked at his unchanged expression. She reached up to touch her cheeks and head; there were no Dragon Horns, no claws. She pointed at her eyes and asked, "Do... do my eyes look red?"
"Red?" Li Yunyang craned his neck to examine her eyes for a while before shaking his head. "A bit bloodshot; you probably just didn't rest well."
Strange? Xiang Xueer pushed him away and took out a mirror from her bag, examining her face closely for a long time. To her surprise, she looked just like before—no bloodthirsty eyes, no Dragon Horns, no fangs.
Impossible! The Witch couldn't have let her go. After all that effort to regain her body, how could it miraculously be returned to her? What was going on?
Li Yunyang tightly embraced her. "You silly girl! Where have you been? I searched for you everywhere; it was driving me crazy!"
The familiar scent and voice reassured her that he was finally okay. Xiang Xueer sighed and patted his back. "I'm fine; see? I'm perfectly alright!"
After a long while, Li Yunyang finally released her and held her hand as he asked, "Where on earth have you been? We really had a hard time finding you. That stupid Duck couldn't explain anything either."
"I... I went after the Serpent Empress!" Xiang Xueer couldn't say the truth directly, so she made up a story about chasing the Serpent Empress. If they knew that there was still a Witch inside her body, what would they think? Even she herself didn't know what to do.
Li Yunyang gently touched her face with concern. "Actually, when we were in the Underworld, I could hear you talking, but I just couldn't do anything about it. It was really driving me crazy!"
So that's how it was; it was indeed because of his willpower that the Serpent Empress couldn't fully control its heart. Now it was fine since the Serpent Empress was already dead.
Following closely behind, Qingtian and Lian Cheng Xue finally arrived. Seeing Xiang Xueer safe and sound, they felt a huge weight lift from their hearts. "That's great! I'm so glad you're okay!"
"I'm fine, don't worry!" Xiang Xueer flashed her signature smile. Meanwhile, Platypus, who was hiding nearby and watching secretly, bit his lip and peeked from behind a tree. "S-sister, is that really you?"
Xiang Xueer turned to glance at Platypus. Did this guy see something? She slowly walked over and whispered in his ear, "Shh, don't tell them, okay?"
Platypus stared into Xiang Xueer's eyes for a long time before bursting into tears and rushing over. "Wow, it's sister! Sister is back! That's amazing!"
"Hey, hey, don't wipe your snot on me!" Xiang Xueer shouted in panic as Duck clung to her like a piece of gum, causing everyone around to burst into laughter.
On the opposite hillside, Heart Demon was watching the group from afar with a crescent-shaped smile. "It seems our princess is quite interested indeed, but the next opponent won't be so easy."
The group returned to the village at Shili Slope. The citizens who had been rescued from Serpent Empress could finally live peacefully again, and the market was bustling with activity once more.
After the great battle, everyone wanted to relax for a bit. They decided to rest in the village for a few days before heading towards Sky Beyond Mountain. They had already traveled quite a distance and were getting closer to the heavens.
Xiang Xueer was enjoying a soak in the hot spring in the bathroom. It had been a long time since she felt this comfortable and relaxed. After constantly fighting demons and monsters, she missed her days as an assassin; being an Exorcist was truly exhausting!
In the men's bathroom next door, Li Yunyang, Lan Ran Qingtian, and Lian Cheng Xue were bare-chested, leaning against the stones by the hot spring. A wall separated the men's and women's bathrooms.
"Hey? Where's Duck?" Lian Cheng Xue turned around looking for him. The Stinky Duck was sticking its butt up against the wall, seemingly unaware of what it was doing.
Li Yunyang grabbed a white towel to wrap around his waist and walked over barefoot. He poked Duck's plump backside, startling it into yelping, "Ouch! That hurts! Dead Blackie, what are you doing?"
"What are you doing?" Li Yunyang retorted. Platypus immediately raised his eyebrows in confusion and pointed at a small hole in the wall. "Look what I found."
A small hole? Li Yunyang stretched his neck to look through it and discovered that it led into the women's bathhouse. Although it was steamy inside, he could still see several women soaking in the hot spring.
"Hey, you big pervert, damn Stinky Duck, how dare you peek at girls taking a shower!" Li Yunyang shouted loudly, blushing as he hurriedly dealt with Platypus, immediately startling Lian Cheng Xue and Qingtian in the water.
"Hey, you guys are shameless for peeking at the women's bathhouse!" Lan Ran Qingtian rushed over to grab the two, while a panicked Li Yunyang yelled, "I wasn't peeking! It was this pervy Duck who was spying!"
The group started pulling and tugging at each other, and Platypus leaned in with a mysterious look, staring at the two and questioning, "Stop pretending to be righteous. Don't you want to see my sister take a shower?"
With that one sentence, the expressions of the three immediately froze. Duck burst into laughter: "Hahaha, don't think I don't know. You three clearly like my sister but are pretending to be innocent. I saw your embarrassing moments back in the forest when we were affected by the Aphrodisiac Flower. That flower's poison not only creates illusions but also makes people see their deepest desires!"
Deepest desires? Lian Cheng Xue swallowed hard and glanced at Qingtian, trembling all over: "Oh my god, could it be that what I desire most is a man?"
"You Stinky Duck, what nonsense are you talking about? Shut up!" Lan Ran Qingtian finally couldn't hold back and became furious. In an instant, the three of them started beating up Platypus, causing quite a commotion.
"What are you all shouting about? Can't a person take a shower in peace?" Xiang Xueer frowned, staring at the wall. The noise was likely from the men's bathhouse, caused by those idiots led by Li Yunyang.
Suddenly, Lian Cheng Xue aimed a punch at Duck, but that guy's Platypus ducked down just in time, causing her fist to hit the wall instead. There were several loud bangs as cracks appeared on the wall, which quickly spread. With a crash, the wall collapsed, turning the separated men's and women's bathhouses into a mixed bathing area.
Three seconds later, a scream erupted from the women's bathhouse: "Help! Help! There's a pervert!"
"Wow!" Li Yunyang, naked except for a towel wrapped around his waist, rushed over in panic to explain: "No! I'm not a pervert! Don't run away!"
Xiang Xueer sat calmly in place with her right eyelid twitching and shouted: "What are you all doing? Can’t you keep it down while taking a shower?"
