In the depths of the Tropical Rainforest's gorge, a place where no human has set foot for years, lies the habitat of various birds, beasts, and venomous snakes. A nearly dying Giant Snake lies on the ground, its Snake Gallbladder long removed, leaving only its shell to slowly await death.
A figure appears before it, cloaked in black, with a Demon Mask obscuring its face. Beneath the mask, a pair of black eyes fixate on the Giant Snake lying on the ground, accompanied by a low, cold chuckle from a man: "Tsk tsk tsk, how pitiful. It seems you are about to die."
"Who are you?" The Serpent Empress slowly opens her eyes, weakly staring at the man with the ghostly mask. The man leans down, looking at her with interest, a wicked smile spreading across his lips: "How about we make a deal?"
"A deal? Hahaha." The Serpent Empress scoffs a few times: "Don't make me laugh to death. I'm about to die; what use could I possibly have for you? Unless you can bring me back to life."
Without her Snake Gallbladder, the Serpent Empress understands that only one word awaits her: death. No one in the world can save her.
"Hmph!" The man chuckles coldly, extending his gloved hand to gently touch her abdomen a few times. He murmurs a few incantations, and then a fist-sized Snake Gallbladder suddenly appears in his hand.
The Serpent Empress stares wide-eyed in disbelief, thinking it must be an illusion. Then the man thrusts the Snake Gallbladder into her body with a squelch, placing two fingers to his lips as he chants: "Arc of Time: Phoenix Rebirth, Illusion to Reality!"
The Serpent Empress feels a surge of warmth inside her empty body as the Snake Gallbladder begins to connect with her being as if being reborn. In no time at all, it is tightly integrated with her body once more, just like before.
The man stands up and gazes at her abdomen as the wound gradually heals: "It seems the Witch has dealt you a heavy blow; reviving you has cost me quite a bit of power."
Initially wanting to find a quiet place to await death, the Serpent Empress never expected to encounter this strange man who saved her life—it's simply unbelievable.
"Who are you? I've never seen anyone with such abilities in this time!" The Serpent Empress slowly rises from the ground, cunningly lifting herself up and staring at the man before her.
"Hmph, you don't need to know who I am. From now on, I am your master, and you must obey my commands!" The man slowly turns around, facing away from the Serpent Empress: "Your first task is to kill the Witch!"
"Kill the Witch?" The Serpent Empress gasps in surprise. What a joke! How could she possibly be a match for the Demon Realm Princess? If she could truly defeat her, why would she have fallen into such dire straits?
"Hahaha!" She sneers a few times and lunges fiercely at the man's neck with bared fangs: "You think you can command me? First let me swallow you whole!"
The cunning of the Serpent Empress cannot allow others to command her; even if it is the benefactor who just saved her life, she would still kill him without hesitation.
The man stood still, unmoving, as the fangs of the Serpent Empress had not yet reached his neck. She felt a bone-deep pain and collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony.
The man calmly turned around, tightly gripping the Serpent Empress's Snake Gallbladder: "Serpent Empress, your life is in my hands. If I were you, I would obediently do as I say; otherwise, this will be your fate!"
As he spoke, he squeezed hard, causing the Snake Gallbladder inside the Serpent Empress to feel as if it were about to burst. She rolled on the ground in pain; it turned out that what the man was holding was tightly connected to her own Snake Gallbladder. Her fate was entirely in the hands of this mysterious man.
"I... I was wrong, I won't dare again!" The Serpent Empress quickly knelt down and begged for mercy: "Don't squeeze anymore; I'll go find the Witch and kill her right away!"
The man's cold gaze smiled as he stroked the Serpent Empress's forehead: "Now you're being obedient. You better not try any tricks on me; otherwise, I can easily end your life!"
"Yes, yes!" The Serpent Empress had no choice but to submit and plead for her life, becoming this man's pet. Whatever he said, she had to do. This feeling was worse than death; it would have been more pleasant to die at the hands of the Witch.
"Don't think about escaping from me, Serpent Empress; I will come looking for you again!" After a gust of wind, the man vanished like a ghost, leaving the Serpent Empress lying on the ground, gasping for breath.
After a while, she transformed back into human form and punched a tree trunk in anger, cursing: "Witch, all of this is thanks to you! I will kill you!"
In the dark otherworld, before the black Ancient Tower, a figure appeared. She looked up at the towering black tower with her hands raised high. In an instant, dark clouds gathered overhead, and the boiling river began to churn in the air thick with evil energy.
Earth Shattering; even that black Ancient Tower began to shake. Suddenly, a pair of Red Eyes opened within the Ancient Tower: "My daughter, you have finally come!"
"Father, I will rescue you now!" The Witch stood her ground, continuously using her magical power. However, even with all her strength, she could not shake that immovable Black Ancient Tower.
"Don't waste your effort!" A stern voice came from within the Ancient Tower: "If I could get out, I would have done so long ago. That damned Leng Qianqiu has kept me trapped in this magic-sealing tower for a hundred years. There are still two seals left; once those last two seals are broken, I can come out."
Witch knelt on the ground, confessing to her father, "It's all my fault for being useless; I couldn't do anything without you coming out."
"Hahaha!" The Demon Lord laughed instead of getting angry after hearing this. "Don't worry, when your father placed your soul into a human body, it was for future plans. Even if I can't come out now, it doesn't matter. With you and Heart Demon, it is only a matter of time before I lead the demon realm again."
"Father, what exactly have you arranged?" Witch took a step forward slowly. The Demon Lord sneered and immediately issued an order: "You must return to that group of Exorcist right now!"
"What? Go back?" Witch shouted in agitation. "Father, I finally managed to come out, and you want me to go back? Are you joking? Does that mean I have to sleep in this broken shell again?"
The Demon Lord suddenly shouted, "If I command you to go back, you must go back. Don't worry; everything is under your father's control. You are returning only to gather information about the Exorcist. Remember, the other soul within this body still has great value!"
Value? Witch suddenly understood. A wicked smile crept across her lips as she knelt on the ground and laughed, "As expected, Father thinks ahead. This way, we can smoothly gather information about the Exorcist's movements—killing two birds with one stone!"
'Hahaha!' The echoes of their laughter reverberated through the dark valley, sending shivers down one's spine.
At the same time, Li Yunyang, Lian Cheng Xue, and Qingtian were searching everywhere for Xiang Xueer. A figure returned to the previous forest. Her cold eyes scanned the surroundings and then landed on the approaching Li Yunyang. She sneered, "Hmph, if it weren't for Father's orders, how could I let you benefit so easily!"
She slowly sat down on the ground and closed her eyes, awakening the deep-in-thought Xiang Xueer. The Dragon Horns on her head disappeared, and her red hair gradually returned to black as Xiang Xueer's consciousness began to clear.
"Where is this?" She reached up to touch her forehead as the dizziness faded away. Familiar voices reached her ears: "Dead Girl, where are you?"
Li Yunyang? And also the voices of Qingtian and Lian Cheng Xue. Oh no, I'm a demon now; I can't let them see me. She trembled as she stood up and ran wildly into the trees ahead.
