Soaring through the sky and diving into the depths of the sea, the Serpent Empress desperately tried to shake off Xiang Xueer, who was clinging to her head. The two struggled for a long time, their stamina beginning to wane, yet neither could gain the upper hand.
“Damn Witch, get off me!” the Serpent Empress shouted angrily as she plunged down from the sky towards the ground. With a loud thud, she used all her strength to violently throw Xiang Xueer off her body.
With a crash, Xiang Xueer landed on a tree trunk, blood spurting from her mouth as she hit the ground hard. Struggling to get up, she pulled out an AK-47 from behind her and began firing wildly at the Serpent Empress.
For a long time, bullets rained down like a storm. Even though they couldn't harm the Serpent Empress's tough exterior, they still caused pain upon impact. She kept shaking her body and opened her mouth to let out a furious roar, swallowing all the bullets that came her way.
A cold smile crept onto Xiang Xueer's lips as she secretly took out a grenade given to her by Lian Cheng Xue from her black bag. Igniting it, she threw it forcefully into the Serpent Empress's mouth.
With a series of explosions, sounds erupted from within her belly as several large bulges formed. Sparks flew from her throat as Xiang Xueer scoffed, “How does the taste of the grenade feel, Serpent Empress?”
It turned out that this was how one could be driven mad. The Serpent Empress's stomach was in chaos, causing her to thrash around wildly while roaring in agony. After a while, she crashed heavily to the ground, black smoke billowing from her mouth.
Xiang Xueer cautiously approached her. It seemed that the Serpent Empress had been severely injured, lying on the ground with smoke rising from her mouth and unable to move. “Witch, you will never kill me!”
“Serpent Empress, I don’t want to kill you because killing you brings me no benefit! I won’t gain anything!” Xiang Xueer raised her gleaming dagger and stabbed it fiercely into the Serpent Empress's abdomen. “Your Snake Gallbladder is mine!”
The dagger surprisingly bounced off; the scales covering the Serpent Empress were incredibly tough. Despite multiple attempts, she still couldn't break through to retrieve the Snake Gallbladder.
“What should I do?” She looked up at the sky; it was already late evening. Right! She needed to find Qingtian and Lian Cheng Xue. Turning around to assess her surroundings, Xiang Xueer realized she had no idea where she was.
“Ah!” It hurt so much; after being thrown by that bastard earlier, she felt completely drained. She leaned against the tree trunk with a thud, clutching her chest and cursing under her breath, “Damn it! The prey is right in front of me, yet I can’t succeed.”
“Hahaha!” The Serpent Empress lay sprawled on the ground, laughing arrogantly as she looked up. “Witch, oh Witch! Who would have thought you’d end up like this? You’ve chosen such an incompetent vessel.”
“What did you say? Who are you calling incompetent?” Xiang Xueer retorted angrily. The Serpent Empress looked at her with disdain: “Isn’t it true? A princess of the demon realm being suppressed by a human soul—how useless you are!”
The Princess of the Demon Realm? Could it be referring to another soul within her body? Xiang Xueer was shocked, finally understanding that the Heart Demon and the dream of the Black Ancient Tower, as well as the transformations mentioned by Taotie and Duck, were all connected. It seemed that this fragile body actually housed such a powerful being.
"Who are you calling incompetent?" A deep, hoarse roar erupted from within Xiang Xueer's body, a chilling cold quickly sweeping over her. That powerful force began to awaken from her soul.
Oh no, this guy is about to awaken! Xiang Xueer panicked for a moment; recently, the entity within her body had been awakening more frequently, and she was starting to lose control over her own body.
The uncontrollable demonic blood boiled again, and Xiang Xueer could clearly feel the force trying to suppress her. She leaned against a tree trunk and banged her head against it, hoping that the pain would help her regain clarity.
"Xiang Xueer, if you can't even deal with someone like the Serpent Empress, just obediently go to sleep, you incompetent woman!" The Witch laughed arrogantly.
Within this frail body, the two souls began their first dialogue and intense clash. Ultimately, who would suppress whom? Everything was unpredictable.
The Serpent Empress's cunning eyes fixed on the chaotic Xiang Xueer. Moving her body, she opened her mouth to attack. Before her massive jaws could close in, a pair of red demonic eyes flashed, and a finger instantly pressed against her forehead, rendering her immobile.
"Demon, Witch!" The Serpent Empress looked at her blood-red eyes and smiled as if thirsting for blood. She was horrified and tried to escape. Suddenly, with a 'thud,' a magical beast pierced into her abdomen, effortlessly grabbing hold of her Snake Gallbladder.
"Ah!" The Serpent Empress screamed in shock. Was the soul within this shell already that of the Witch?
"Get away from me! This is my body, damn monster!" Xiang Xueer let out one final roar, desperately trying to suppress the other. The color of her pupils flickered continuously between black and red.
"Hahaha, Xiang Xueer, if you want to take back your body, don't regret it!" The intertwined souls within fought against each other. The Witch's cold laughter left her stunned: "What do you mean?"
"Hmph!" The Witch sneered coldly and cunningly proposed a condition: "Do you really think you can take the Serpent Empress's Snake Gallbladder? I'll kill it for you; give me your body. Do you want your body or your beloved? You choose!"
Veins bulged on Xiang Xueer's forehead; this scoundrel Witch was truly cunning to threaten her like this. But time was running out; she didn't have the ability to kill the Serpent Empress. Dawn was approaching!
"Make a decision quickly, this princess doesn't have that much patience!" The Witch knew she was hesitating, understood her inner turmoil, and knew everything about her. What should I do?
Night was approaching, and the sunlight was gradually fading. The time agreed upon with the Demon King was about to expire. She gritted her teeth and ultimately compromised: "Fine, this body is yours now, but don't forget what you promised me!"
"Shirley, where are you?" On a distant flat area, Lian Cheng Xue and Qingtian were anxiously searching for her whereabouts.
Platypus was sobbing as it walked: "Waaah, big sister must have been eaten by the Serpent Empress!"
"Shut up, you Stinky Duck! Close your Duck mouth!" Lian Cheng Xue pointed angrily at the opposite side: "You go look over there; we'll split up!"
"Don't worry!" The Witch's lips curled into a victorious smile. The figure on the ground elongated in the light as Dragon Horns slowly extended from above her head. With a gentle movement of her black fingers, the Snake Gallbladder was effortlessly pulled from the Serpent Empress's abdomen without any struggle.
"Ah! Witch, I will kill you! I will kill you!" Purple blood splattered on the ground as the Gigantic Snake collapsed. Without the Snake Gallbladder, the Serpent Empress crawled on the ground, struggling to escape into the dark forest.
"Serpent Empress, if you want to kill me, try again in your next life!" The fist-sized Snake Gallbladder was tightly gripped in her hand, blood dripping onto the ground. She couldn't be bothered to take further action; a snake without a Snake Gallbladder was destined to die anyway—why dirty her hands?
The Witch tilted her neck and stretched her muscles. Having finally emerged from this body, this place would now be her domain. She spread her arms and felt the wind blowing around her.
"Big sister, big sister!" A voice from the forest called out. Platypus stumbled and fell to the ground with a thud, landing awkwardly. When it looked up, it saw the Witch standing before it. The sight of her red pupils made its fur stand on end, and its legs trembled in fear: "Who... who are you?"
The Witch looked down at Platypus lying on the ground. With a 'thud,' she tossed the Snake Gallbladder in front of it: "Take it; if you show up in front of me again, I'll eat you!"
