Lan Ran Qingtian wearily looked up ahead and said, "Strange, where did Shirley go?"
Upon hearing this, Li Yunyang quickly scrambled to his feet. After searching for a while, the two men indeed found no trace of Xiang Xueer: "No way, could she have gone after Bakemono?"
"It seems so!" Lan Ran Qingtian replied with some concern. "Since Lian Xiong is also injured, let's find him first and then look for Shirley."
"Okay!" The two exchanged glances and headed deeper into the forest. At that moment, Lian Cheng Xue was still resting against a Tree Trunk. He slowly raised his head to look at the sky; through the scattered leaves, the sun began to warmly envelop the earth. The sounds of battle had ceased, indicating that the fight was over.
"I can't just sit here; I need to see what's going on!" He struggled to push himself up, picked up the Black Iron Sword from the ground, and wobbled toward Ghost Night Village.
After taking a few steps, he suddenly heard rustling from a tree above. Cautiously, he looked up and was startled when a dark object fell from the tree, landing right on his face.
"Wow!" he yelled as he quickly stepped back, thinking he had been hit by something dangerous. He raised his Black Iron Sword, only to find that it was a bare-bottomed Platypus that had fallen clumsily from the tree.
"What are you doing here?" Lian Cheng Xue angrily pointed the Black Iron Sword at the Platypus, cursing, "You traitorous Stinky Duck, how are you still alive?"
"Ouch, that hurt!" the Platypus cried out, lifting its rear and immediately noticing Lian Cheng Xue along with the sword aimed at it. Terrified, it scrambled to its feet and knelt on the ground begging for mercy: "Please, sir, I was wrong! Spare me!"
"Spare you? You traitor!" Lian Cheng Xue, covered in injuries, gripped the Black Iron Sword tightly as it trembled in his hand. Seeing this, the Platypus rolled its eyes and quickly dashed behind a nearby Tree Trunk: "Hmph! Look at you; if you're so tough, come kill me!"
"What did you say?" Lian Cheng Xue was furious and raised his Black Iron Sword, chasing after the Platypus: "You damn Duck, stop right there! I'm going to kill you today!"
The Platypus, having been blasted to the treetops by Xiang Xueer's Grenade, was heavily injured as well. Naturally, neither was willing to let the other go. In an instant, a cat-and-mouse chase unfolded in the forest.
"Stop running, you damn Duck! You think you can escape?"
"You crippled fool! If you have guts, come catch me!"
"How dare you call me a cripple?" Lian Cheng Xue's face turned dark with anger as he leaned against a Tree Trunk, panting heavily while glaring at the Platypus: "You better surrender now! Let me tell you... your Bakemono army has already been defeated!"
"That's nonsense!" Platypus sat down heavily on the ground. "As long as the Great Yokai is here, our Platypus clan will never fail!"
"Who said that?" A cold voice came from behind it. A tall shadow instantly enveloped it. Duck swallowed hard and turned to look; Li Yunyang was staring at it with eagle-like eyes, the Azure Dragon Sword pointed directly at its nose. "Stinky Duck, I've finally caught you!"
"Ah! You... how did you get here?" Platypus shouted anxiously. "Help! Great Yokai, please save me!"
"Stop shouting! Your Great Yokai has long since disappeared!" Li Yunyang lifted Platypus by its neck, gritting his teeth as he said, "You cunning Stinky Duck dared to trick me, and I was locked in that cage for several days. Hmph! I'll kill you and make soup out of you!"
Upon hearing this, Platypus trembled all over and shook its head, crying out, "No, please! I don't want to be made into soup with a radish!"
Lan Ran Qingtian patted Li Yunyang on the shoulder. "Brother Li, stop messing around. We should go find Shirley first!"
"What? What's wrong with Miss Xueer?" Lian Cheng Xue quickly asked upon hearing Qingtian's words.
"The battle is over; the Bakemono army suddenly collapsed. She must have sensed something was off and went after the Bakemono!" After analyzing this, Lian Cheng Xue finally felt relieved. "Great! We've succeeded; the people no longer have to fear those Demons!"
"What? They were completely wiped out?" Platypus widened its eyes in shock, tears streaming down its face. "Oh no, I'm the only one left in the Platypus clan!"
Li Yunyang looked at its sorrowful face and coldly smiled. "No, your Platypus clan is about to be wiped out completely!"
As he spoke, he pressed it firmly to the ground and raised the Azure Dragon Sword, preparing to strike down. The dying Duck screamed, "Don't kill me! I know where that woman went!"
"Wait!" Qingtian quickly stopped Li Yunyang. "Tell us where Shirley went! If you dare lie to us again, we'll stew you along with the radish."
Platypus sobbed and shook its head vigorously. "I... I saw her when I was at the top of a tree; she was riding that Taotie chasing after the Great Yokai towards Duckbill Mountain!"
"Oh? If you dare lie to me again, I'll kill you!" Li Yunyang frowned; just as he was about to strike, that guy unexpectedly closed its eyes and fainted.
"Tch, coward!" Li Yunyang cursed under his breath. He grabbed Platypus by the neck, and the three men exchanged glances before heading towards Duckbill Mountain.
At this moment, Xiang Xueer was in the forest near Duckbill Mountain, struggling with the Serpent Empress. This creature's body was incredibly flexible; with a flick of its serpent tail, it snapped towering trees in half. So far, she and Taotie had only been on the receiving end of the attacks.
Xiang Xueer touched her cheek, which was scratched by a tree branch, and turned to Taotie, saying, "What are we going to do now? This creature has completely surrounded us!"
Taotie looked around and observed that they were surrounded by dense trees with no way out. Just as they were trying to come up with a plan, the Serpent Empress twisted its massive body and quickly darted between the trees, lunging towards her.
This was bad; it was too fast, and there was no time to dodge. In an instant, Taotie stood in front of Xiang Xueer. With a loud 'thud,' Taotie's massive body was tightly coiled by the Serpent Empress, wrapping around its neck and waist.
The serpent's body was extremely flexible, and once it caught its prey, it would constrict tightly before tightening further to break all their bones and suffocate them before swallowing them whole.
"Damn it, let him go! Your prey is me!" Xiang Xueer shouted angrily. Taotie was already tightly wrapped by the Serpent Empress, which began to constrict its body. The roar of Taotie's struggle was deafening as it thrashed about, swinging its Dragon Tail!
"Not a chance!" The Serpent Empress grinned widely, revealing its razor-sharp teeth as it prepared to swallow Taotie. "I'll eat him first to fill my belly, and then for dessert, I'll have your heart!"
Xiang Xueer stood frozen in place, suddenly feeling helpless. The Serpent Empress was too powerful and ruthless. Then she remembered something; placing one hand on the ground, she shouted, "Taotie, you go to the Void Realm first!"
Taotie cried out in pain, "No way! If I leave, what will you do?"
"Don't worry about me! Just go!" Xiang Xueer urged as she pounded the ground. Gritting his teeth, Taotie finally heard a loud 'bang,' followed by a puff of white smoke. He managed to escape safely and vanished from the human realm.
"Ah!" Xiang Xueer sighed in relief. Taotie had returned to the Void Realm; at least his life was saved. The ancient divine beast and master of Misty Forest had almost been swallowed by that damned Serpent Empress.
