What happened? She quickly turned her head and realized that the Water Sprite had somehow caught up to her from behind. Just as its sharp claws were about to grab her, Li Yunyang arrived just in time to save her.
With a loud 'bang', Li Yunyang's three-character formula, Azure Dragon Slash, unleashed its power even underwater, instantly creating several large holes in the Water Sprite's chest. Thick purple blood began to bubble up in the water.
"Ah!" The Water Sprite let out a terrible scream, clutching its chest wound. Its white eyes looked exceptionally terrifying, and its body gradually sank beneath the water. Yet, its unwilling claws still seemed to want to grab Xiang Xueer, and the hatred in its expression was something she would never forget.
With the Water Sprite seemingly dealt with, Xiang Xueer and Li Yunyang quickly emerged from the water, taking deep breaths. They shared a rare smile of relief, but suddenly realized a very serious problem.
All the Housekeepers were holding onto the overturned hull, floating on the surface of the water, but as they looked around, they found that Sima Yi was nowhere to be seen.
"City Lord! City Lord!" Everyone on the water began calling his name. Xiang Xueer felt a jolt of fear; could it be that the dead Water Sprite hadn’t actually died and had dragged her little boy's father down into the water?
"Damn it!" Xiang Xueer cursed angrily and said to Li Yunyang, "Stop shouting for now; let's flip the boat over first. We’ll go look for Sima Yi."
After saying this, Xiang Xueer took a deep breath and with a splash, dove back into the water. Li Yunyang followed closely behind as they both began searching for Sima Yi.
Not far from them, Sima Yi was holding his last breath, struggling in the water. After being submerged for too long, he was ultimately overwhelmed by it.
With a gurgle, he began to lose consciousness and sank deeper into the water. Meanwhile, not far away, the Water Sprite was awkwardly swimming with its tail and quickly approached Sima Yi. It raised its pale arms and dragged him toward the opposite shore.
In the murky waters, Xiang Xueer desperately searched for Sima Yi but found no progress after searching for a long time. She exchanged glances with Li Yunyang before surfacing for air to prepare for another round of searching.
As Li Yunyang just broke through the surface of the water, he suddenly wrinkled his nose slightly; the air was filled with the unique stench of blood from the Water Sprite. He pulled Xiang Xueer urgently and said, "Not good! That Demon seems to be surfacing!"
"What, no way?" Xiang Xueer turned her head to look around, and finally she spotted the familiar fish fin heading towards the shore. Emerging from the water in front of it was a faintly visible human head—none other than Sima Yi.
What does this guy want to do to Sima Yi? After a few seconds of confusion, Xiang Xueer pointed across and shouted, "It's over there! Sima Yi is in danger, hurry up and chase!"
At that moment, the surface of the water had gradually calmed down, and the boat that had flipped over was righted by the Housekeepers. Everyone was safe now, but Xiang Xueer didn’t have time to care about them. She swiftly performed a butterfly stroke, quickly pursuing the Water Sprite towards the shore.
The Housekeepers rowed their boat while watching in astonishment at Xiang Xueer's incredible swimming speed, which could rival that of the Water Sprite. Li Yunyang, having been pulled onto the boat, furrowed his brow in disbelief and said, "Wow, this girl is like a kappa!"
That despicable Water Sprite actually dared to grab my handsome guy! Just wait until I chop you up! Both parties followed closely behind each other as they reached the shore. The Water Sprite was holding Sima Yi's body, caressing his cheek. Seeing he had no reaction, it leaned down to sniff him and suddenly burst into tears while holding the lifeless body, crying out, "No... don't die, please don't die!"
Xiang Xueer finally made it to the shore. Ouyang Jiaorong's weak body was really unhelpful; after swimming just a short distance, her back ached and her legs began to tremble.
"You... you stop right there! You dead Demon, what do you want with my Handsome Guy?" Xiang Xueer gasped as she approached the Water Sprite and Sima Yi, only to be taken aback when the Demon turned its head. Its bulging goldfish eyes were filled with tears, leaving her stunned.
What’s going on? Demons can cry too? She looked in shock at Sima Yi lying on the ground with a pale face and heard the Demon shout at her, "Save him! Quickly save him!"
Ah! Xiang Xueer instantly realized that this Water Sprite didn’t seem to want Sima Yi's life; instead, it was pleading for her to save him. Although she didn’t understand why, years of experience told her that if Sima Yi remained submerged for too long without rescue, he would be in serious danger.
"Let him go!" Xiang Xueer stepped forward and laid him flat on the ground. She checked his breath and pulse from behind; he had no signs of life. She quickly pressed down hard on his chest and then performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
The Water Sprite watched as they kissed mouth-to-mouth. Although it didn’t understand what was happening, it seemed to realize she was trying to save his life. So it stood there silently without resisting or trying to escape, while its fish tail gradually transformed into human legs in the air.
As the boat gradually approached the shore, Li Yunyang and the Housekeepers disembarked. As soon as they got off the boat, they saw Xiang Xueer kissing the unconscious Sima Yi repeatedly. Li Yunyang's face darkened immediately as he shouted angrily, "You dead girl! What are you doing? Are you messing around again?"
"Shut up, I'm saving someone!" Xiang Xueer turned around, took a few deep breaths, and then glared fiercely at Li Yunyang before continuing to perform artificial respiration. Meanwhile, the Water Sprite stared at Sima Yi's face without blinking, leaving everyone else confused and unable to comprehend the situation. They exchanged glances, unsure of what was happening, and could only stand there dumbfounded.
What is going on? Li Yunyang pointed awkwardly at the couple still kissing on the ground. The most bizarre part was the Water Sprite beside him, who after a moment of dazed silence blurted out, "What’s all this nonsense? Aren't we supposed to catch the Water Sprite? Why isn't it running away?"
Xiang Xueer exerted all her strength, but Sima Yi still showed no signs of life. Although she was reluctant to admit it, from a physical standpoint, he was already dead. Slowly, she stopped her actions and sat down on the ground, looking down at Sima Yi, who had ceased to breathe.
"What happened?" The Water Sprite suddenly spoke again, shocking everyone present. Xiang Xueer shook her head and glanced lightly at the Demon in front of her: "I did my best, but he is already dead!"
"Lord City Master! Lord City Master!" The scene erupted into chaos as all the Housekeepers knelt beside Sima Yi's body, weeping bitterly. Xiang Xueer slowly stood up, and seeing this, Li Yunyang hurried over and asked, "Is he dead?"
"Yes!" Xiang Xueer replied, her sharp eyes fixed on the Water Sprite. This Demon was truly strange; she initially thought it wanted to kill him but was surprised that once it reached the shore, it pleaded with her to save him.
After a long pause, Xiang Xueer walked over to the sitting Water Sprite and looked at its body still stained with purple blood. Despite its severe injuries, it had still exerted itself to drag Sima Yi out of the water. It was clear that there was something significant between them.
Thus, Xiang Xueer stepped closer and stared at the slumped Water Sprite, asking, "What is your relationship with him?"
