The sound of footsteps, "tap, tap, tap," gradually became clearer from the alley. Xiang Xueer held her breath and instinctively patted her waist, realizing again that she had forgotten; she didn't have a gun to use.
The target slowly emerged from the mist—no, it was a monster-like person. With a squat figure and a face full of burst abscesses oozing green liquid, he held a young girl in his arms. After glancing at the two people in front of him with his cold, gleaming eyes, he grinned widely, revealing his sharp teeth, and shouted, "Another pair of clueless fools daring to interrupt my meal time!"
The young man suddenly pointed at the monster and shouted, "Incubus! I am Li Yunyang, the chief disciple of Feng Qingyang, the leader of the Holy Ten Exorcists! Kneel down and beg for mercy, surrender now!"
"Feng Qingyang?" The Incubus picked his nose and flicked it away before bursting into wild laughter. "What is Feng Qingyang? I don't know what that is! Get lost!"
Upon hearing this, Li Yunyang immediately flew into a rage. He swung his long sword and charged forward, engaging in a fierce battle with the monster. "Daring to insult my master's name? Just watch as I beat you to a pulp today!"
"Hey, wait!" Xiang Xueer was left standing there dumbfounded, watching the fierce fight between the man and the monster. She swallowed hard; although she was determined to deal with that old man Ouyang Zhentian, fighting and assassinating were one thing, but dealing with monsters was another matter entirely. Moreover, this Incubus seemed much more formidable than that Headless Demon from before.
Xiang Xueer was at a loss about what to do. Should she help? She had no experience in exorcism; she hadn't learned any incantations or techniques yet. But if she didn't help, wouldn't it make her seem useless?
Caught in her dilemma, she stood there conflicted while Li Yunyang showed no signs of backing down. He raised his long sword, a cold glint flashing in his eyes—he looked incredibly handsome—and then raised two fingers and shouted, "Azure Dragon Slash!"
As soon as he uttered the incantation, several white sword energies shot toward the Incubus with a whoosh. They struck him instantly, leaving multiple sword wounds on his body from which black liquid began to ooze out.
"Wow, that's disgusting! Black blood!" Xiang Xueer grimaced as she watched the monster howl in pain. Then suddenly turning around, the Incubus picked up the unconscious girl from the ground and quickly fled deeper into the alley.
"Stop!" Li Yunyang shouted angrily. Just as he was about to chase after him, he turned to see Xiang Xueer still standing there motionless and yelled furiously, "What’s wrong with you? You call yourself an Exorcist but can’t help at all!"
After saying this, he shot her an angry glare before using Azure Wind to leap over rooftops in pursuit of the Incubus. Xiang Xueer clenched her fists in frustration as she glared at him and then followed suit. "You little brat who hasn’t even grown up yet! How dare you call me a little girl? I may have a smaller chest, but everything else is just fine! You wait for me!"
Xiang Xueer followed along, joking that being lectured by a little brat was not in Lone Wolf's temperament. She trailed for quite a while, eventually chasing into the nearby forest. The trees here were towering and dense. After searching for a long time, she still couldn't find any trace of Li Yunyang, let alone that so-called Incubus.
Suddenly, a gust of cold wind swept through, and a shadow darted back and forth in the forest. Xiang Xueer sensed danger; she turned around, clenched her fists, bent slightly, and prepared to attack at any moment.
At that moment, she heard a strange sound above her head. She looked up and immediately noticed an object plummeting from the sky...
