After watching the video, the two professors fell into deep contemplation...
Could it be that the pursuit of high-tech development and a society characterized by advanced material and spiritual civilization is fundamentally accelerating humanity's demise? It has been said that every war on Earth propels human society forward. Is this truly the case? The tragedy of Mars serves as a warning.
Such an important discovery made Professor Du Yuesheng restless. He stood up and said, "We need to quickly release this significant news to the media."
Professor Lin Sen waved his hand to stop him, saying, "Don't rush to announce it to the media just yet. Let's first clarify the contents of the Graphene Storage Device and see if there are any other major discoveries. The priority is for you to translate the text inside the Graphene Storage Device. We can announce it later. If you disclose it to the media now, we might lose the convenience of using the Graphene Storage Device as we currently do."
Professor Lin Sen's reasoning made sense, and Professor Du Yuesheng nodded in agreement.
"As for the package of Mayan Glyphs, I can't understand the Mayan Glyphs anyway. The volume is enormous, and there’s a lot of content that we can't go through in a short time, so I won't open it. I'll hand this USB Drive over to you; you can take your time studying it at home," Professor Lin Sen said as he removed the USB Drive from his computer and handed it to Professor Du Yuesheng.
"Thank you so much," Professor Du Yuesheng replied as he took the USB Drive. "If I make any progress, I'll let you know right away." He quickly got up to bid farewell to Professor Lin Sen.
As he left, Professor Lin Sen repeatedly reminded him:
"You must keep this matter confidential; do not speak of it to anyone. Once it's public, our research will no longer be able to continue."
Professor Du Yuesheng hurriedly left Professor Lin Sen's Electronic Technology Research Laboratory. In a cheerful mood, he hummed a tune while driving home, arriving quickly.
By the time Professor Du Yuesheng returned home, it was already noon. He didn't have time to eat and hurried to his study desk, turning on the computer and plugging in the USB Drive. He clicked on the folder containing text files, and immediately, the computer displayed the three-dimensional Mayan Glyphs of "Kairuote Diary."
To be safe, he backed up all the contents of the USB Drive onto his computer.
Just as Professor Du Yuesheng was about to continue reading, he heard a gentle tapping on the window of his study. He turned his head and gasped; wasn't that the Martians he had just seen in the computer video? With their large heads and big eyes, they were smiling at him.
He thought he might be seeing things, but the tapping sound was very real. He focused again and confirmed that it was indeed the Martians at the window calling for him. He hurried to the window, and the Martians quickly darted into a small thicket, disappearing in an instant.
Without thinking much, Professor Du Yuesheng rushed out of his study toward the small thicket across from the front door. When he arrived at the thicket, there wasn't even a shadow to be seen. He muttered to himself, "This is really spooky."
Returning to his computer in the study to continue his work, he noticed a note left on the desk. It was hastily written in Mayan Glyphs: "Borrowing your USB Drive for a while, will return it after use. Belri."
Professor Du Yuesheng couldn't help but feel amused and exasperated; they had stolen his USB Drive and claimed it was a loan. Fortunately, he had made a backup; otherwise, he would have had to go back to Professor Lin Sen to ask for another USB Drive.
The Martians had come knocking on his door; they must be after the Graphene Memory Storage. He had published photos of a decorative cube with a gold necklace in a world-renowned magazine, which had spread globally. Clearly, the Martians were aware of this Graphene Memory Storage. Thankfully, these Martians seemed quite civilized; they hadn't rummaged through his belongings and even left a note for the borrowed USB Drive.
Professor Du Yuesheng called Professor Lin Sen to inform him about what happened. Professor Lin Sen did not believe that it was the Martians who took it; he suspected it might be a trap set by Earthlings. However, when he saw that note, he concluded that Earthlings could not write such fluent Mayan Glyphs. He finally believed Professor Du Yuesheng's account; he had indeed encountered Martians.
