The phone rang, and the Ancient Sorcerer saw that it was Kong Ying, so he immediately answered:
"Miss Kong, hello."
On the other end of the line, Kong Ying's crisp voice, sweet and slightly sultry like that of a mature woman, came through: "Mr. Luo, where are you?"
Ignoring the unusual woman on the screen, the Ancient Sorcerer continued walking forward as he replied, "I just returned to Guanghai City."
"Are you free now? Let's meet up."
"Yes, where shall we meet?"
Half an hour later, the Ancient Sorcerer arrived at the location Kong Ying had mentioned. Looking at the two-story building in front of him, he couldn't help but shake his head.
Guanghai City is a modern metropolis, especially in the city center where every inch of land is precious. In such a place, even a 1,000-story skyscraper wouldn't be surprising; however, a mere two-story building would definitely be big news. Of course, owning such a building signifies not only wealth but also power—it's impossible to maintain such a place with money alone; one must also have power, or else they would be completely devoured by others.
"It seems everyone here is not simple!"
The Ancient Sorcerer sighed and walked inside, where a young beauty in a red qipao immediately approached him.
"Hello, sir. This is a private club..."
"Miss Kong sent me."
The Ancient Sorcerer shook his head and interrupted her.
"Are you Mr. Ancient Sorcerer? Please follow me; Miss Kong is waiting for you."
As he walked further in, the Ancient Sorcerer noticed the classical decor—furniture in the Ming and Qing style paired with antique displays made it feel as if he had stepped back into ancient times.
Passing through the hall and entering a courtyard, he finally reached a room. The Ancient Sorcerer pushed open the door and walked in.
Inside was none other than Kong Ying.
"Hello, Miss Sun."
"Mr. Luo, it's nice to see you again."
As soon as Kong Ying saw the Ancient Sorcerer walk in, she immediately stood up and walked over. The Ancient Sorcerer had previously cured her child's illness in such a miraculous way, and it was from that moment that she realized her interest in this young man, especially after that dinner.
However, the Ancient Sorcerer had to leave abruptly that night due to some issues in the village and didn't finish dinner. Days went by without a call from the Ancient Sorcerer. At first, she tried to endure it, but eventually realized she couldn't hold back any longer, which is why she took the initiative to call him.
As soon as she made the call, she found out that the Ancient Sorcerer had just returned to Guanghai City, and Kong Ying couldn't help but arrange to meet him.
Looking at Kong Ying standing before him, the Ancient Sorcerer couldn't help but blink. This young woman was incredibly alluring; her looks were undeniable, but it was her figure that could make any man lose his composure. The fitted clothing accentuated her curves without being overly revealing, yet it hinted at the fullness and elasticity beneath. With her body swaying gently, one could almost imagine how enticing she must be underneath her clothes.
Not to mention the faint fragrance she exuded—subtle enough that it seemed almost undetectable, yet it silently beckoned to one's desires.
"Ah, I'm really sorry. I should have called to let you know. Thank you for lending me your car."
The Ancient Sorcerer felt a bit embarrassed; he knew he hadn't handled this situation very well.
Kong Ying smiled lightly and said, "It's just a small matter."
Sitting down, Kong Ying asked, "What would you like to eat?"
"Anything is fine; I trust your judgment."
Not being familiar with the place at all, the Ancient Sorcerer decided to leave the ordering to Kong Ying.
"Alright."
Kong Ying ordered several dishes, which were quickly served. It was clear that she was a regular here and had excellent taste; the dishes she chose were so delicious that the Ancient Sorcerer nearly lost his tongue in delight.
After eating a little, Kong Ying put down her chopsticks and watched the Ancient Sorcerer eat.
"This man... really has a certain charm."
Kong Ying's face suddenly flushed. She knew that such thoughts were inappropriate, but she couldn't help it; she simply couldn't understand why she felt such a strong attraction to the young man in front of her.
"Why are you looking at me eat?"
When they had nearly finished their meal, the Ancient Sorcerer contentedly put down his chopsticks. When he looked up, he found Kong Ying staring at him, her eyes glistening with an indescribable emotion.
Kong Ying's face turned red as she said, "It's nothing, I've already finished eating."
"Oh."
The Ancient Sorcerer knew that this was definitely not the truth, as Kong Ying's gaze was too peculiar. However, since she didn't say anything, he felt that even if he sensed something unusual about her, he couldn't just ask if she had feelings for him.
"Did you need something from me?"
Kong Ying shook her head and replied, "No, I just wanted to see you."
When Kong Ying called the Ancient Sorcerer, she truly had no agenda, but the situation quickly changed after a phone call. Upon answering the call, her face immediately showed signs of anxiety.
"What's wrong?"
The Ancient Sorcerer set down his teacup and asked curiously.
"I just said I had nothing to discuss with you, but it seems there is something now."
Kong Ying forced a smile.
"Oh, there's no need to be so polite. Just tell me."
"It's like this: I have a friend who seems to have developed a strange illness. Whenever she exerts herself too much, she faints. At first, it wasn't taken seriously, but recently it's gotten worse. Just before she called me, she fainted again."
Furrowing his brows, the Ancient Sorcerer immediately asked, "What did the doctor say?"
Shaking her head, Kong Ying replied, "She didn't go to see a doctor."
"No way, why not see a doctor?"
The Ancient Sorcerer couldn't believe it and widened his eyes. How could someone be sick and not seek medical help?
"She's a public figure, and there are people watching her all the time. It's inconvenient, so I hope you can take a look at her."
"Alright. Let's go right now."
The Ancient Sorcerer agreed without hesitation; he had no reason to refuse given this person's close relationship with Kong Ying.
Noticing that the relaxed expression on Kong Ying's face had vanished, the Ancient Sorcerer quickly suggested they go now.
"Okay, thank you so much."
Kong Ying showed a grateful expression. She hadn't expected the Ancient Sorcerer to be so understanding, and coupled with her genuine concern for her close friend's condition, she didn't hold back and immediately stood up to head outside.
Once in the car, Kong Ying handed a pair of sunglasses to the Ancient Sorcerer and said, "Put these on, just in case. I don't want to cause you too much trouble."
Taking the sunglasses and putting them on, the Ancient Sorcerer smiled and said, "Looking mysterious? Your friend isn't a celebrity, is she?"
