The night was cool as water. 0

The air in the countryside was mixed with the scent of fresh grass, which cleared the mind. 0

"Aren't you supposed to give me an explanation?" 0

Rubbing his nose, the Ancient Sorcerer feigned ignorance and said, "Explanation for what?" 0

Zhao Wei was busy with many affairs; upon seeing that his daughter had recovered, he left. Feng Leyao received an urgent telegram from the Newspaper and had to leave as well. After sending off Feng Leyao, Luo Tieniu returned, so now only the Ancient Sorcerer, Jiu Ye, and Luo Tieniu remained. 0

Yang Ying was getting older and had been consumed with worry over Zhao Weiru's illness, draining a lot of her energy. Now that she saw her granddaughter was well, she went to sleep as soon as it got dark. 0

As for Jiu Ye and Luo Tieniu, they went to bed earlier than Yang Ying, so now only the Ancient Sorcerer and Zhao Weiru were left in the yard. 0

"For example, how did you cure me?" 0

Zhao Weiru picked up the teapot and poured a cup of tea for the Ancient Sorcerer. A faint fragrance wafted up. After waking up, she learned from her grandmother Yang Ying about the process through which the Ancient Sorcerer treated her, and she was quite curious. 0

How could she let such an opportunity slip away? 0

"You were sick, and I just happened to know how to treat it, so I cured you. It's that simple." 0

Zhao Weiru shot a glare at the Ancient Sorcerer and said, "Do you think I'm a three-year-old? The crow, Oil Pot, Cypress Leaves... especially that Black Snake I spat out—none of that seems like a sickness! Not to mention your method of treatment is rather strange." 0

"Well... can you at least tell me what exactly happened to you?" 0

The Ancient Sorcerer realized he couldn't hide anything from Zhao Weiru anymore. Since they were already discussing it openly, there was no point in being evasive. In fact, he was also curious about what had happened to Zhao Weiru and why she had attracted Ghostly Energy. 0

Ghostly Energy is a form of yin energy; while it usually gathers in places like Tombs, it is generally quite faint. Even if one encounters it, they wouldn't go mad like Zhao Weiru did. 0

The only reason for such a situation would be that Zhao Weiru encountered something other than ordinary Ghostly Energy! 0

Zhao Weiru nodded and said, "No problem, but I can't really remember clearly what happened at that time." 0

"Ah?!" 0

The Ancient Sorcerer's right hand, which was originally reaching out to grab the teacup, slowly retracted. Zhao Weiru sensed that something strange was happening. 0

"I’m a hiker. The mountain I climbed during an event six months ago is called Wuyin Mountain." 0

The Ancient Sorcerer frowned slightly; the name of the mountain sounded ominous. 0

"We set off in the morning and didn't reach halfway up until evening. By then, it was too late to descend, so we found a place to camp at the halfway point." 0

"In the middle of the night, I heard strange noises outside the tent. After waking up, I went out to take a look. In the darkness, I vaguely saw a flickering light. For some reason, I felt as if I were possessed, my consciousness becoming hazy. After that, I don't remember what happened." 0

Zhao Weiru suddenly shivered. At first, she didn’t feel much, but as she spoke, it became increasingly terrifying. 0

"Snap." 0

The Ancient Sorcerer pulled out a cigarette from his pocket, lit one, and began to smoke slowly. Zhao Weiru's story was filled with oddities. 0

"Give me one." 0

The Ancient Sorcerer was taken aback and said, "You smoke too?" 0

"Can’t I smoke? I've finished my story; now it's your turn." 0

Zhao Weiru took a cigarette from the Ancient Sorcerer and put it in her mouth. 0

Adjusting her position to sit more comfortably, the Ancient Sorcerer said, "You are possessed by Ghostly Energy, or you could say you are afflicted by malevolent energy. In layman's terms, it's referred to as seeing ghosts or being possessed by spirits. The crows gathered because they sensed the Ghostly Energy." 0

Zhao Weiru had been prepared for what was happening to her, but when she heard the Ancient Sorcerer say it directly, she was still taken aback. It took her a while to respond: 0

"What about that little snake? I can't possibly have swallowed a snake, right? Even if I did swallow it, how could it survive in my stomach for half a year?" 0

Shaking his head, the Ancient Sorcerer said, "That was indeed not a real snake, but rather a manifestation of Ghostly Energy. Once it enters your body, it will gradually destroy you. As for your madness, it's because your brain has already been affected, losing its ability to control, leaving you unaware of what you're doing." 0

Zhao Weiru shivered violently; things were becoming increasingly bizarre. The Black Snake formed from Ghostly Energy? Was this the true reason for her madness? 0

It sounded like a ghost story! 0

If it hadn't happened to her, she would never have believed it. 0

What had she encountered after leaving the tent that night? According to her classmates, when they woke up the next day, they found her lying peacefully in the tent, but no matter how they called her, she wouldn't wake up. 0

"Was going out of the tent just a dream? If it wasn't a dream, what exactly happened to me?" 0

"This... can also be figured out, but..." 0

The Ancient Sorcerer hesitated for a moment. He was quite curious about what had happened to Zhao Weiru. He thought of a method but found it somewhat inconvenient. 0

Zhao Weiru didn't expect that the Ancient Sorcerer actually had a way and immediately asked, "But what?" 0

"I need to look into your eyes during this process, so I have to be quite close... which makes me worry it might be inconvenient." 0

Zhao Weiru's face flushed. The Ancient Sorcerer was concerned that there might be physical contact and realized this made her hesitate. 0

Should she really clarify what had happened to her? 0

After hesitating for a long time, curiosity ultimately overcame everything. Zhao Weiru gritted her teeth and said, "Alright, let's begin." 0

"I need to prepare first." 0

The Ancient Sorcerer stood up and walked to the gate of the courtyard where a string of Five Emperor Coins was hanging. 0

The five emperors from the Qing Dynasty—Shunzhi, Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong, and Jiaqing—ruled during a time of great national strength. The Copper Coins issued during their reigns possess powerful energy that can ward off evil and protect against malevolent forces. They are commonly used as tools in Feng Shui. When used specifically, five Copper Coins can be strung together with red thread; this is known as the Five Emperor Coins. However, most commonly used are replicas with engraved years. 0

The Ancient Sorcerer took down the Five Emperor Coins. It was only after seeing this string of Copper Coins that he remembered a spell that could "see" what had happened to Zhao Weiru. 0

After removing the Five Emperor Coins, the Ancient Sorcerer walked into the kitchen and took a Basin from the cupboard, filled it with water, and then returned to sit at the table. 0

"What is this for?" 0

Zhao Weiru looked at the basin of clear water in front of her, unsure of what the Ancient Sorcerer intended to do. 0

"Give me three strands of hair." 0

The Ancient Sorcerer did not explain but extended his hand toward Zhao Weiru. 0

"Oh... alright." 0

Zhao Weiru plucked a few strands of hair and placed them in the Ancient Sorcerer's hand. 0

"Extend your hands." 0

The Ancient Sorcerer took two strands of hair and tied them around Zhao Weiru's wrists. Then he removed one of the Five Emperor Coins and threaded one strand of hair through the hole in the center of the Copper Coin. 0

Zhao Weiru watched quietly, curious about how the Ancient Sorcerer would "see" what had happened to her in the past. 0
