Claire's behavior became increasingly abstract as she began to lead a group of feminists in chaotic demonstrations on the streets under the guise of performance art, swaying public opinion. Once viewed as a symbol of the new woman in society, she transformed into an extreme feminist. Claire's fervent gaze and exaggerated rhetoric attracted a loyal following, who unconditionally obeyed her commands.
One day, Claire led her followers to the museum in the city center. The followers held signs and shouted radical slogans, causing panic and confusion among passersby. Claire stood at the front of the group, her eyes gleaming with madness.
"Today, we will put these statues and paintings that symbolize male dominance on trial!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the museum's corridors.
At her command, the followers stormed into the museum. They defaced statues and paintings depicting male figures with feces, set them on fire, and engaged in a series of radical acts. Amidst the chaos, artworks were destroyed, smoke filled the exhibition halls, and alarms blared incessantly.
"This is our rebellion!" Claire declared loudly, waving a Molotov cocktail in her hand before throwing it at a large painting depicting a male hero. Flames quickly spread, and the painting turned to ashes in the fierce fire.
"All of this is a symbol of male dominance; we will destroy it completely!" Her followers responded enthusiastically, filling the space with loud shouts and intense sounds of destruction.
Public opinion reacted strongly to this series of actions; some who had initially supported Claire began to change their stance and condemned her extreme behavior. Media outlets reported on these events, portraying Claire as an extreme and irrational feminist.
"This is not about women's rights; this is outright criminal behavior!" an angry commentator said on television.
However, Claire's supporters continued to defend her. They believed these actions were a response to the long-standing oppression of women—a radical but necessary form of resistance.
"Claire is speaking for us; she is challenging this unjust society!" a radical feminist wrote on social media.
The destruction at the museum further radicalized Claire's reputation. She was no longer seen as a representative of new female power but had become synonymous with extreme actions. Her name became a focal point of controversy; whether in support or opposition, she had become an undeniable presence.
Standing in front of the ruined museum and looking at her fervent followers behind her, Claire felt a mix of contradiction and excitement within her. She knew her actions had crossed conventional boundaries, but that was precisely the effect she desired.
"We will make this world hear our voice," she whispered to herself, a glimmer of determination flashing in her eyes. "No matter the cost."
Claire soon began to face numerous lawsuits, but she had no intention of stopping her reckless behavior. Due to her poor financial management, she quickly found herself on the brink of bankruptcy. In desperation, Claire started to exploit her name to raise funds continuously, organizing various fundraising events under the pretense of advocating for women's rights and social justice, while in reality siphoning off large amounts of money for herself.
"This is a revolution!" she passionately declared at one fundraising event, as her supporters in the audience erupted into applause, countless people pulling out their wallets to stuff bills into the donation box.
Claire was immersed in her little bubble, surrounded by her supporters and followers. She reveled in the feeling of being worshipped, as if she were some kind of sacred symbol. Her life became increasingly extravagant and chaotic, but she didn't care. For her, this wild lifestyle was the freedom she sought.
In this atmosphere, Claire hadn't seen Mark's hallucinations for quite some time. Her heart seemed to find some sort of peace, at least on the surface. She believed she was doing the right thing, leading a great revolution, no matter how difficult the path might be.
"Claire, do you really think all of this is worth it?" a former friend asked her during a private gathering, concern and doubt evident in their eyes.
"Of course it's worth it," Claire replied confidently. "We are changing the world and helping more women break free from oppression; isn't that the most important thing?"
The friend was left speechless, helplessly watching her. Claire's conviction was so strong that it was hard to shake.
However, Claire's actions began to attract more legal scrutiny. Her destructive behavior and extreme rhetoric became targets for prosecutors and lawyers, with summonses arriving one after another. But Claire was not intimidated by these lawsuits; instead, she became even more reckless.
"These are all attempts to suppress us!" she proclaimed before her supporters. "We will never yield!"
But reality was harsh; Claire's financial situation deteriorated rapidly. Her lavish lifestyle and unchecked spending plunged her into severe financial trouble. She had to liquidate assets and even used her name to initiate more fundraising activities in an attempt to fill the financial gaps.
"We need more funds to support this revolution!" she urged at one rally, her voice filled with passion and urgency.
Her supporters still trusted her completely, generously donating, but this funding was like a drop in the bucket, unable to fundamentally solve her problems.
Claire's life continued in madness and chaos; she increasingly relied on her supporters and followers, sealing herself within this comfort zone. She was satisfied with her current life, enjoying the feeling of being admired and followed.
"I did it, I really did it," Claire said to herself while standing in the luxurious room, her eyes sparkling with a mad light.
She hadn't seen Mark's illusion for a while, as if that shadow had been cast aside. But she didn't know whether this crazy lifestyle could truly continue or if, deep down inside her, she had really escaped that shadow.
