Chapter 253: Blood Battle on the City Wall
Although the two major factions of the Eight Directions World are in opposition, this time their goals are the same: to break through Wu Pass and enter the territory of Qin State. The bravery of the Qin Soldiers not only impresses the people from other realms but also raises alarms among the Cultivators from Wings of Wind Continent. This is not the time to suppress the strength of Light Continent; crossing this barrier is the most important task at hand.
Each continent represents a different type of Cultivator. Wings of Wind Continent cultivates wind-based powers, Thick Earth Continent cultivates earth-based powers, and Dark Continent cultivates Darkness powers. The extraordinary Divine Abilities they wield are far beyond what ordinary soldiers from Nine Continents Mainland can imagine.
Nearly a hundred Gray Whirlwinds rise up as numerous Cultivators from Wings of Wind Continent rush to the top of Wu Pass City Wall. In an instant, the entire city tower is enveloped in endless winds. The powerful Feng Ling and Liu Mei summon dozens of terrifying tornadoes, all pushing toward Wu Pass City Wall.
Tu Tao's face shows no trace of his usual playful demeanor. He nods to a powerful figure from Thick Earth Continent, and together they lead dozens of Thick Earth Cultivators to split off toward either side of the wall. Although there are solid stones blocking their way beneath the wall, they can still appear directly below it. They climb up using Ancient Vine Trees summoned by a strong individual from Green Forest Continent, which is much faster than using ordinary ladders.
The most terrifying are the Cultivators from Dark Continent. After muttering a few words, they summon gigantic White Bone Skeletons from beneath the earth. These skeletons are made from unknown animal bones, with each bone nearly as thick as a thigh, combining to reach heights of two zhang.
Eighty or so black-robed Cultivators from Dark Continent stand atop these White Bone Skeletons. Although none are Dark Swordsmen, each possesses strength equal to that of a Dark Swordsman. As these White Bone Skeletons charge forward, they quickly head toward the city wall.
Under the fierce assault of nearly a thousand powerful beings from other realms, the archers before the wall cannot hold their ground. Hundreds of them are struck down by various Divine Abilities, their bodies torn apart and swept into the Void, providing an opportunity for those powerful beings to rush toward the city wall.
"Archers fall back! Sword and shield bearers forward!"
Wang Ben's face is cold; even at this moment, he shows no signs of panic. His figure flashes as he appears directly before the city wall. With a sweep of his right hand, he unleashes a terrifying torrent of energy that crashes downward. A strong individual from Water Cloud Continent barely pokes his head above the wall when Wang Ben slams him into oblivion. His orders are immediately relayed throughout the wall.
Although those stationed at Wu Pass are not Qin State's most elite soldiers, they are still Tiger Ben Warriors trained by Wang Ben himself. As soon as he finishes speaking, messengers swiftly carry his commands across the wall. In an instant, the remaining archers retreat while cold-faced sword and shield bearers take their place.
With iron shields in their left hands and Steel Blades in their right, this elite equipment is unmatched by any other empire. Apart from the powerful Great Qin Empire, no other empire can equip its ordinary soldiers with such iron shields and Steel Blades. The reputation of Qin Soldiers across the continent is closely tied to this superior equipment.
"Great Qin is mighty! We swear not to retreat! Great Qin is mighty! We swear not to retreat!"
A tidal wave of furious shouts rises again atop the city wall, and what was once dwindling morale suddenly surges back up. Faced with the invading forces on the city wall, these Qin State soldiers show no fear; instead, they fiercely charge forward.
A Cultivator from Flame Continent rushes up to the city wall, his crimson eyes bizarrely shooting out two streams of red flames. His powerful Divine Ability instantly turns two Qin State soldiers before him into ashes. However, just as he laughs triumphantly, four dark Steel Blades come slicing in from his side.
"How can ants shake a great tree!"
With a cold smile still on his lips, he sweeps his right hand to unleash a fiery barrier toward the four charging Qin State soldiers. Unsurprisingly, their bodies along with their armor turn into liquid under the flames. But at that moment, his smile suddenly freezes on his face.
A dark long sword was deeply stabbed into his chest, and the one wielding this sword was the Captain of the squad. In an instant, he exploded, flames surging out, engulfing the Captain as well. However, this Cultivator from the Flame Continent, who had reached the peak of the Fourth Stage, fell before the Wuguan.
A powerful figure from the Wings of Wind Continent landed on the city wall, surrounded by a gray whirlwind. Razor-sharp wind blades spun wildly within the vortex, and dozens of Qin State soldiers nearby had no time to react before being torn into pieces, blood splattering into the air. The thick smell of blood gathered in the atmosphere, accompanied by the boisterous laughter of the Wings of Wind Continent powerhouse.
But just as this Young Powerhouse was laughing maniacally, dozens of cold Wolf Tooth Arrows sliced through the Void, piercing directly through his chest. With a deep sense of unwillingness, his body slowly fell backward. He never expected that these so-called ants could bring down such a towering tree.
Such scenes unfolded one after another on the city wall. Perhaps a single soldier's strength could not match that of these otherworldly Cultivators; even ten people together would not be their opponents. However, when dozens or even hundreds of people fought desperately, things became different.
There were a total of twenty thousand Great Qin soldiers stationed at Wuguan, while there were only nearly a thousand strong figures from other realms. In a direct confrontation like this, even if powerful beings from various worlds could cross Wuguan and enter Qin State territory, their strength would be greatly diminished and they would be unable to achieve anything. Thus, neither side was willing to see this happen. The powerful figures from several factions exchanged glances and nodded in agreement, revealing a hint of determination.
"Fire Dragon Dance!"
A hoarse voice echoed on the city wall, sounding as if flames were burning and causing discomfort. Upon closer inspection, it was ten Flame Continent Cultivators standing together, uniting to unleash a Divine Technique. These Otherworldly Cultivators were not weak; each one wielded a Divine Ability that was already formidable on its own. When ten joined forces, it became terrifying—especially with one Fifth Stage powerhouse leading them.
Five individuals formed hand seals and simultaneously reached forward, conjuring an enormous Flame Dragon out of thin air. The dragon's body stretched dozens of feet long, its crimson eyes flashing with violent fury. With a deafening roar, it charged directly toward the Qin Soldiers below, leaving no trace behind in its wake.
"Flood Surge!"
The voice of a Water Cloud Continent Cultivator rang out simultaneously as a hundred-foot-long river appeared from nowhere. Endless waters cascaded down, flooding the city wall completely and submerging all soldiers atop it in the torrent.
"Ghost Wood Technique!"
"Summon Stone Giant!"
"Wrath of the Wind God!"
One after another, combined Divine Abilities manifested from Cultivators across various worlds. In an instant, thousands of Great Qin soldiers were engulfed by these powerful Divine Abilities. The situation on the city wall shifted dramatically; however, these Divine Abilities were not the most terrifying aspect—the most fearsome were those from the Darkness and Light continents.
"I'm going all out against you! Brothers, follow me!"
Seeing comrades fall before him, those Great Qin soldiers went mad. A low-ranking officer let out a furious roar as nearly two hundred soldiers gathered behind him. Each brandished their Steel Blades and charged toward dozens of Light Continent Cultivators ahead, enveloped by a thick aura of bloodlust.
The Light Priests, shrouded in their White Robes, showed no signs of concern. Each priest's eyes sparkled with deep indifference as one of them pointed straight ahead with his right hand.
"Sin needs forgiveness, purification!"
His voice was filled with supreme pressure. As soon as he finished speaking, a white beam of light suddenly descended from the Void, enveloping the Great Qin Soldiers who charged forward with overwhelming Killing Intent. Immediately after, countless tragic howls echoed, and nearly two hundred Great Qin Soldiers bizarrely vanished within the white beam of light—truly Gone Without a Trace!
"Devour to your heart's content!"
At the same time, on another section of the city wall, a chilling voice echoed strangely in everyone's minds. Looking up, they were shocked to see that the several dozen feet long section of the wall was enveloped in thick black mist. Wretched cries rang out, accompanied by the excited roars of a monstrous creature.
In the blink of an eye, the dense black mist dissipated, leaving behind only pools of bright red blood where hundreds of soldiers once stood. In their place was a White Bone Beast several feet tall, its hollow eye sockets glowing with two eerie red dots, exuding a thick aura of ferocity. Standing atop its back was Yin Wuqie from the Dark Continent.
The Vengeful Spirit Bone Beast, an Exotic Beast of the Darkness attribute, possessed strength comparable to that of a Fifth Stage Domain powerhouse and was Yin Wuqie's destined beast.
"Go!" With a command, Yin Wuqie stood on the back of the Vengeful Spirit Bone Beast and led dozens of Dark Continent Cultivators charging toward another direction.
Under the relentless assault from the Seven Realms, the original twenty thousand defending soldiers had instantly been reduced to over five thousand. In contrast, the casualties on the Seven Realms' side were only in the hundreds. Unless something unexpected occurred, the outcome of the battle was already foreseeable!
