Chapter 172: Joining Forces Against the Enemy
"Child, what's wrong? Are you scared now? Ha ha..."
A chilling voice echoed in the Cave as the Black-Haired Young Man slowly emerged from the Blood Pool, a sinister smile on his face as he walked toward Sun Zhe. The path he took was stained with bright red blood, as if it were paving his way back.
Sun Zhe's face turned slightly pale, his right hand trembling slightly, but his eyes flickered with an unprecedented seriousness as he subtly began to step back.
"How did you get here?"
Sun Zhe looked incredulously at the thin, cold man before him, unable to hide his shock. Upon closer inspection, he noticed that the man's appearance seemed much younger than the last time they met, almost like a young man just over twenty. However, Sun Zhe understood that his true age was far beyond that.
This man was none other than Yin Yu Zhen Ren, one of the Four Great Powerhouses who had entered the depths of the Evil Demon Sea with Sun Zhe. He had previously fled in panic after being severely injured by Chiyou, and Sun Zhe never expected him to still be hiding in Lingyun Prefecture. From the scene in the Cave, it was clear that he was using some secret method to recover his strength.
"Hmph, child, at first I didn't understand what happened in the Evil Demon Sea, but upon reflection, it became clear to me. Was Chiyou released by you?"
Yin Yu Zhen Ren's eyes were filled with deep hatred as he coldly stared at Sun Zhe not far away. He clearly remembered that there were only five people who entered the depths of the Evil Demon Sea; four of them were searching for treasures while only Sun Zhe seemed to have vanished.
Chiyou had been sealed for so long without breaking free; how could they have come out right after entering? Excluding the four of them, only Sun Zhe could have possibly done it. He was eighty percent sure that Sun Zhe was the one who released Chiyou.
Thinking about how half of his cultivation had been destroyed made Yin Yu Zhen Ren's heart surge with rage. Chiyou's methods were extremely cunning; he couldn't use pills to restore his previous strength as if that half of his cultivation had never existed. In utter despair, he had no choice but to attempt the Blood Wheel Transformation Technique he had occasionally obtained.
He didn't mind the need for a thousand people's blood for the Blood Wheel Transformation Technique; what concerned him was that this technique required him to abandon his original cultivation to start anew. However, its effectiveness exceeded his expectations. Even at just the first transformation, it had restored him to the Thunder Lord realm. He believed that by the ninth transformation, he would fully recover and even surpass his previous level.
Yet, the pain during cultivation was unimaginable. Just going through the first transformation left him haunted by fear. Enduring such suffering without reason suppressed an unbearable rage within him. He thought about seeking revenge on Chiyou but dared not confront that man filled with Demonic Energy. Unable to quell his anger, he could only vent it on Sun Zhe and found it almost fated that Sun Zhe appeared before him.
Taking a deep breath, Sun Zhe slowly suppressed his shock and looked at Yin Yu Zhen Ren not far away and said,
"That's right; I did release Chiyou. Since that's the case, you should understand that I am Chiyou's benefactor. If I die because of him, do you think he would spare you? Or do you think that with Chiyou's ancient powers, he wouldn't find out that you killed me?"
Looking at Yin Yu Zhen Ren standing coldly before him, Sun Zhe tried hard to maintain his composure. Yin Yu Zhen Ren was one of the most renowned powerhouses on the continent; perhaps he couldn't match unparalleled swordsmen like Seven Swords True Monarch or Zhuang Yuanhang in true strength, but he was certainly not someone Sun Zhe could compare himself to at present.
Although Yin Yu Zhen Ren had lost half of his cultivation due to Chiyou's actions, Sun Zhe sensed that his remaining strength was still far above his own. Coupled with those formidable Divine Techniques he mastered, Sun Zhe felt no confidence in fighting against him. Threatening him using Chiyou's name was the only method Sun Zhe could think of.
"You've reminded me; indeed, according to Chiyou's character, it would be just like that. However..."
Yin Yu Zhen Ren shifted his tone abruptly, a chilling smile emerging on his face as he coldly gazed at Sun Zhe. His narrow eyes suddenly flashed with a piercing cold light.
"I will not kill you; instead, I will drain all your essence to help me restore my cultivation. Then, I will seal your soul for a hundred years. I want to slowly torment you and make you understand the consequences of offending me. In this way, how could Chiyou know your fate? By the time your soul dissipates after a hundred years, he will have long forgotten you..."
Coldly gazing at Sun Zhe, Yin Yu Zhen Ren suddenly broke into a soft, sinister laugh. The sound echoed throughout the Cave, and an eerie atmosphere immediately enveloped the entire space.
Sun Zhe's heart trembled. Yin Yu Zhen Ren's words were indeed true; if a hundred years passed, how could Chiyou remember him? Realizing this, his expression turned cold. He finally understood that Yin Yu Zhen Ren was determined not to let him go. Any hope he had was merely wishful thinking. Unless he surrendered willingly, a battle was inevitable.
Back when the Golden Thunder Sect issued a bounty on him, many people hunted him down. At that time, he was just a Thunder Master Realm cultivator but managed to escape through numerous obstacles. Now, facing only Yin Yu Zhen Ren, how could he give up?
"Jingjing, it seems you must help me this time..."
Against the Realm of Thunder Lord's Yin Yu Zhen Ren, Sun Zhe was absolutely no match. This was not just a difference in realms; his mastery of Martial Arts Techniques was also significantly weaker.
Yin Yu Zhen Ren was renowned throughout the Thunder Continent; he was not someone ordinary people could compare to. Sun Zhe understood that only by teaming up with Jingjing did he have a glimmer of hope.
"Chirp chirp... chirp chirp..." Half in Void, Jingjing immediately flew in front of Sun Zhe, looking at Yin Yu Zhen Ren with disgust. It flapped its wings against its chest as if making some kind of promise to Sun Zhe.
Seeing Jingjing's adorable appearance, Sun Zhe smiled slightly. Although he was reluctant to let Jingjing fight, he had no choice; if he died, Jingjing would likely also fall victim to Yin Yu Zhen Ren's deadly hands.
"Unexpectedly, you still refuse to give up. Do you think that with that mixed breed by your side you can win against me? It seems you still do not understand the gap in strength... But that's fine; I've been cultivating in this Blood Pool for quite some time and indeed need some exercise. Let’s play for a while..." Coldly staring at Sun Zhe and Jingjing, Yin Yu Zhen Ren sneered. To him, this was merely a dying struggle.
"Chirp chirp... chirp chirp..."
Before Sun Zhe could make a move, Jingjing charged forward first. Having never called it mixed breed before, intense anger surged in its big eyes as if its supreme dignity had been trampled upon. With a flash of its wings, two brilliant Divine Radiances swept toward Yin Yu Zhen Ren.
"I didn't expect this mixed breed to be an Exotic Beast; it seems its talent is not bad!"
Looking at the furious Jingjing with a light laugh, Yin Yu Zhen Ren's expression remained unchanged, though a hint of surprise appeared in his eyes. As the two beams of Divine Radiance approached him, he showed no intention of moving even slightly. Under the watchful eyes of Sun Zhe and Jingjing, the two brilliant Divine Radiances struck him directly as if an autumn wind brushed against a tree—there was no reaction at all; even his green robe did not flutter.
"Is this all you've got? I'm rather disappointed."
Casually waving his sleeve, Yin Yu Zhen Ren wore an expression of disappointment.
"Chirp chirp... chirp chirp..." Jingjing's big eyes erupted with fierce anger. Spreading its wings wide open, it instantly stirred up a massive vortex that coalesced before it—this was the Divine Ability used to clear toxins outside the Gorge—but now it unleashed its full power, manifesting a tornado much stronger than before. The entire Cave was soon filled with countless gray whirlwinds.
Sun Zhe did not hesitate any longer; extending his right hand, the North Star Blade appeared in his palm instantly. The Purple Star Point in his Left Eye burst forth with brilliance as surging Thunder Power violently coursed through his body. The blade of his Long Sword shimmered with intense purple Sword Aura.
With a swift movement, Ninefold Shadow immediately manifested as Sun Zhe dashed toward Yin Yu Zhen Ren's direction. His right hand wielded the Long Sword which unleashed dazzling Sword Auras aimed directly at Yin Yu Zhen Ren ahead of him; each Sword Aura seemed to contain an irresistible sharpness.
"Alas... If this is all you are capable of, you probably won't even touch the hem of my garment, let alone qualify to make me take action..."
The cold voice echoed again. Although a Yin Yu Zhen Ren stood directly in front of Sun Zhe, the true form of Yin Yu Zhen Ren had already appeared behind them. Observing the reactions of the person and the bird, he shook his head helplessly and sighed.
"Die!"
The cold voice suddenly rang in his ears. It turned out that the one charging forward was not Sun Zhe's true body at all; Sun Zhe's true form was hidden beside Yin Yu Zhen Ren. His eyes revealed an intense killing intent as his right hand wielded a Long Sword, fiercely slashing down towards Yin Yu Zhen Ren's chest.
But this was not the end. Sun Zhe's left hand also shot forward in an instant, directly manifesting a Thunderclaw. Purple arcs of lightning crackled around it as it reached for Yin Yu Zhen Ren's head, threatening to leave him bloodied in an instant.
"You do have some cunning, but you are still too inexperienced in front of me..."
In a flash, his right hand darted forward like lightning, directly grasping the descending Blade. Even a Divine Weapon as powerful as the North Star Blade could not cut through even a fraction of it. Meanwhile, his left sleeve casually waved forward, and a black light slammed directly into Sun Zhe's chest.
"Pfft..."
A mouthful of crimson blood immediately spurted out, and Sun Zhe's face turned slightly pale as he was sent flying backward.
